Luo You returned, no longer transformed.
Xue, somehow munching on an ice cream, was crouched by the roadside, licking away.
“Where’d you get money for ice cream?”
“Someone gave it to me.”
“You can’t just take handouts. What if they’re bad people?”
“Aren’t you a bad person?”
“…Fair point.”
Luo You checked Xue into a nearby hostel, then went all out with the brainwashing hypnosis.
Talk back, will you? Talk back!
“Listen up, you’re not Luo You’s loli—ugh, no, you’re my servant. You obey me completely. If I say east, you don’t dare go west…”
She droned on like a chanting monk for half an hour, wrapping up her daily hypnosis task.
While Xue was still dazed, Luo You hopped on the hostel’s computer, logged into an unmentionable website, and entered the account details with the password she got from Yue.
Once logged in, a customer service window popped up.
– Customer Service Xiao Yi: “Greetings, esteemed Black Gold user. How may I assist you?”
– Magical Girl Conqueror: “I get one free C-tier privilege a month, right?”
– Customer Service Xiao Yi: “Correct.”
– Magical Girl Conqueror: “Great. I’ll send you the address. The family in Room 306—make them drown in casino debt and off themselves, or stage an accident, whatever. Just get this trash out of my way.”
Luo You vividly remembered that family’s son.
That look in his eyes—definitely scheming something with her body.
She bet they were still plotting how to snag both her and the house.
Hah! Idiots. We’re not even in the same league. I’m playing in a whole different dimension. Who’s got time for your mortal nonsense? Eat my elite-level smackdown!
Two minutes later, customer service replied.
– Customer Service Xiao Yi: “Your request has been received. Completion expected within four days. Please monitor backend messages.”
– Customer Service Xiao Yi: “Any additional services needed? Recent changes in the Realm Sea might interest you.”
– Magical Girl Conqueror: “No thanks.”
– Customer Service Xiao Yi: “Very well, have a pleasant day.”
Luo You shut down the computer, a pang of regret in her chest.
She wanted to pry more info from the customer service, but asking would trigger a payment screen.
And damn, those prices were steep—one glance could make your wallet explode.
The website she’d logged into was called “Underworld.”
It was a one-stop shop for all kinds of shady deals.
Back in her rogue organization days, Luo You had used it plenty to line her pockets.
They’d give her a million in funding for a job, she’d outsource it on Underworld for three hundred thousand, and pocket the rest.
Over time, she’d climbed to Black Gold status.
Unlike the dark web, which had become a police fishing pond, Underworld’s security was ironclad.
It was still the go-to platform for all sorts of factions.
“Well… if even Underworld’s talking about changes in the Realm Sea, something’s definitely up.”
Luo You could sense a tidal wave of chaos brewing in the Realm Sea, ready to crash into the human world.
That dimensional beast in Huahai City a few days ago?
Definitely a piece of the puzzle.
“Uh… done?”
Xue’s voice was groggy, snapping out of her trance.
“Yup. Still wanna take handouts from strangers?”
“Nope, never again.”
“Good.”
Luo You grinned, satisfied.
Another month of this brainwashing, and she could probably let Xue roam free.
Speaking of which, was it really okay for a dimensional beast like Xue to be here?
Wouldn’t the Star Ring pick her up?
Ding-a-ling-ling—ding-a-ling-ling—
Luo You silenced her phone alarm.
Time for her interview.
“Stay put, don’t wander.”
“Got it.”
The interview didn’t need much prep—just her ID and some papers.
With her looks, Luo You figured she could pass even if she was a total skill-less nobody.
Good thing she wasn’t that useless.
And, as expected, she nailed it.
“Alright, Miss Luo Youyou, you’re hired. Start tomorrow.”
“Thanks.”
In the meeting room, Luo You gathered her documents and drove home.
The job was settled—same old gig as a fitness coach.
“I’m back… what’re you doing?”
She opened the door to find Luo Zining storming over, all fire and fury.
“Dad, no interview ‘unspoken rules,’ right? Open your mouth—let me check for suspicious fluids!”
“Are you trying to die?!”
Even Luo You’s patience had limits.
This was an insult—pure, unfiltered humiliation!
“What’s in that head of yours? Is this all you think about?”
Luo You grabbed Zining in a swift hold, pinning her to the wall like a squirming chick.
“I may look like this now, but handling you is still a breeze!”
“Dad, Dad! Ow, ow, ow! I—I’m just worried about you!”
“Pfft! You’re not Zining. The Zining I know wouldn’t pull that cutesy voice! You’re possessed by something nasty!”
“I said it hurts, you old hag! Let go!”
The cutesy tone flipped to a rough, feral growl.
“…Sorry, my bad.”
Luo You let go, a touch of guilt in her voice—but only a touch.
She’d sworn to mend things with her daughter, but in the heat of the moment, she’d reverted to old habits, slamming her against the wall.
So much for the past few days’ efforts…
“Sorry, Dad.”
What?!
Luo You gaped, stunned.
Her daughter wasn’t flipping out?
Those apologetic eyes didn’t seem fake or like some vengeful plot.
Luo You replied awkwardly, “…Yeah, just don’t do that again.”
“Dad, you need to realize how much trouble you attract looking like that. My worries are totally justified!”
“No way, no way! I’m an adult—I know way more than you, you little idiot
