‘This shouldn’t be happening. This shouldn’t be happening…’
‘Why doesn’t Xiyue look forward to it? Why does Xiyue say she wants to eradicate it…?’
Su Xiaoxiao felt dizzy and disoriented. Fear rendered her entire body cold and rigid.
The last time, Xiyue had gripped her waist, brutally forcing pain upon her. Xiyue’s tail had almost impaled Su Xiaoxiao’s abdomen. Though the little fish-cub within was not yet fully formed, it ceaselessly transmitted sensations of agony because of Xiyue.
Su Xiaoxiao had nearly fainted from the pain. Fortunately, Xiyue suddenly came to her senses and withdrew.
Blood had flowed, leaving prominent purplish-blue marks on her side. They had only fully healed two days prior.
On the day Gu Yan informed Xiyue of her pregnancy, Su Xiaoxiao had been semi-conscious from the pain, yet she hadn’t missed a single word.
She had continuously waited for Xiyue to discuss the little fish-cub with her. In the South Sea, a merfolk’s pregnancy was an occasion of immense joy. It would be announced to all, with both partners planning for the future of their offspring.
Xiyue, however, had never discussed any of this with Su Xiaoxiao.
Since Xiyue was a demon, unlike herself, Su Xiaoxiao had assumed Xiyue simply didn’t care. She hadn’t felt sad, merely contemplating her plan to take the little fish-cub back to the South Sea.
She had considered that Xiyue might not anticipate the fish-cub’s birth. Yet, she had never imagined Xiyue harbored intentions to kill the little fish-cub…
‘How could she be so cruel?!’
Only then did Su Xiaoxiao realize with a shock that Xiyue’s brutality that day had been an attempt to directly eliminate the still-fragile fish-cub.
Xiyue knew everything. Xiyue simply didn’t want it.
Upon fully grasping the truth, Su Xiaoxiao saw the black aura coalescing in Xiyue’s hand and suddenly let out a scream.
