Chapter 41 Part 2: Awesome Army

I had a goal of growing taller, but there was nothing I could do right now.

All I could do was go to bed early and drink a lot of milk, as Amy had said.

I was able to see Amy from a slightly new perspective.

From a kind person who always took care of us to a slightly, no, incredibly great person.

Her mornings always started early.

She got up earlier than us and started working on paperwork.

The faint smell of coffee that filled the room early in the morning was a signal that her morning had started.

I sat on the edge of the bed and looked at Amy.

She was sitting at the table, resting her chin on her hand, writing a document.

Her fingers moved quickly on a small laptop.

I got out of bed and looked at the screen of the laptop she was using.

“Are you awake?”

“Yes.”

She woke up a little earlier than usual.

Shine hadn’t woken up yet.

Amy came over to me, hugged me, and sat me down on the chair next to me.

“What are you doing?”

“Working.”

The letters that filled the laptop screen. A series of small letters. It was a somewhat familiar screen.

I glared at the large mug next to Amy’s laptop. Judging from the faint steam rising, it was clear that there was still coffee in it.

I stuck my tongue out and licked my lips. It would be delicious.

“What did you tell me to do when I woke up?”

“Ah.”

I slowly reached out my hand, but at Amy’s words, I jumped down from the chair in a hurry and ran to the bathroom.

I finished a quick wash and rinsed my mouth.

After wiping my face with a fluffy towel, I climbed onto the chair next to Amy once more.

I looked down at Amy’s legs. They were touching the floor.

Compared to her, my legs were so short. I swung my short legs back and forth. But my short legs couldn’t touch the floor.

After a while, the morning announcement resonated throughout the building.

At the same time, Shine woke up. She sat on the bed, rubbing her eyes and looking around.

“Did you sleep well, Shine?”

“Yeah.”

Shine nodded absentmindedly, got off the bed, and headed to the bathroom.

Amy closed the laptop the moment she confirmed that Shine was awake.

The laptop screen disappeared in an instant.

The faint image of the screen that remained like an afterimage dispersed from my sight.

I rubbed my eyes and followed Amy out of the room with Shine.

“Donkatsu this morning too?”

“Yes.”

After arriving at the restaurant, I nodded when Amy asked for the menu.

The crispy batter and soft meat had an irresistible charm.

After finishing a quick meal, I returned to the room and changed my clothes.

I wore comfortable tracksuits. The large cat character printed on the back of the tracksuits looked great on Shine.

After changing clothes, we left the room and started walking down the hallway.

However, we went in a different direction than before. Shine didn’t express any questions, but I opened my mouth and asked Amy.

“Aren’t you going to Victor today?”

“No. I’m going to Victor.”

“Then why are you going in a different direction? The gym is in the opposite direction.”

“It’s not available today.”

“Why?”

“Because other people have to use it.”

“Why?”

“The people who were on a long-term assignment came back.”

“Long-term assignment?”

“Yeah. The other branch is short on power…” Amy trailed off with an awkward smile.

I read a tremendous amount of information from her words. This huge building, not one, but two, or is there more to it?

“Anyway, that’s what happened.” I avoided Amy’s hand that was running through my hair and moved closer to Shine.

Shine, who was holding my hand, looked up at Amy and said, “Then you can’t play ball?”

“No. You can play ball enough where you’re going now.”

I glanced at the hallway on the other side. The direction where the gym was.

People who do the same job as Amy had returned? I became a little curious.

The place I arrived with Amy was a little smaller than a gym.

There were no competition rings, and no machines to check various numbers.

A strong metallic smell. Silver-colored exercise equipment spread out in front of me.

“Where is this?”

“My personal space.”

Victor answered my question. It was a little away from the entrance, where he had been for some time.

Victor, sitting in front of a small desk, waved to us.

“Victor’s space?”

“Does Victor live here?”

Shine and I asked at the same time. The hard-looking equipment made the room’s atmosphere very bleak.

I looked at Victor with pitiful eyes. He was staying here without a soft bed.

“What are you thinking about…?” Shine and I approached Victor with familiar movements.

The small chair in front of the desk was a chair that was made for Shine and me.

“You’re going to do it today, too. Play ball hard.”

“Yeah.”

I looked around. What do you mean, there are no machines that record ability values?

“There are no machines?”

“We don’t need that today.”

Victor said that, then took out a small bead from his pocket.

“Hold it in your hand for about five minutes and you’re done.”

“Really?” I looked at Victor with suspicious eyes and held the bead in my hand.

The cold texture of the bead. I didn’t feel anything special.

When I looked at Victor with suspicious eyes, he said, “It checks the amount of electricity your body is unconsciously discharging.”

“Why?”

“Because it’s necessary.”

“Why is it necessary?”

Victor’s expression distorted strangely at my continuous questions.

He let out a small sigh and opened his mouth.

“Amy. Do you think kids these days are curious about a lot of things?”

“Just answer me. Do you think it wasn’t like that when you were little?”

Victor rolled his eyes at Amy’s words, then slowly opened his mouth.

“It’s finding a safe flow.”

“Safe flow?”

“You said you were checking the amount of electricity you were unconsciously discharging? You’re finding the safest flow.”

“Why is that necessary?”

“It’ll be faster if I show you.”

Victor said that and got up from his seat.

He took out a long iron rod from his bosom and waved it in front of me.

“Look carefully.”

Crack! A familiar sound. Light bouncing through the air. Blue currents wrapped around the iron rod.

Victor immediately threw the iron rod in his hand with all his might.

Crack! A cracking sound from the air.

Blue light shot out in a straight line with a tearing sound.

A trail of blue light scattered like an afterimage.

Crack! I opened my mouth blankly.

The iron rod wrapped in electricity was embedded in a wooden board.

Black charred marks surrounded the rod. The smoke rising above it gave off a faint burnt smell.

“You have to find a safe flow to do this.”

I immediately realized what Victor was trying to explain.

I, too, could follow the iron rod throwing technique that Victor had shown me.

However, if I used it, the electricity wrapped around the rod would definitely fly out in all directions as it flew.

I looked up at Victor with sparkling eyes. He was a power user of the same type as me. And he was incredibly good at it.

“Uh… How do you do it?”

“First, find the flow, and make it so that you can always maintain that flow. That’s the first step.”

“Wow….”

Victor, who always had an annoyed expression on his face.

Victor, who seemed to let everything go by without a second thought. He was an amazing person. Really!

When I heard that five minutes had passed, I put down the marble I was holding.

The marble that had been cloudy was now shining blue.

“You can’t learn this anywhere, so look closely.”

Victor took the marble I had put down and raised his other hand.

Crack! A blue current burst out from his hand.

The blue current that had been swaying back and forth and spreading out in all directions suddenly stopped moving.

No, it didn’t stop moving. It was just moving in the same direction, just like before.

It was so fast that it just seemed to stop.

“This is your flow.” Victor waved his hand as he spoke, dispersing the current.

I, who had been blankly staring up at the blue afterimage fading in the air, raised my hand like Victor did.

I remember the direction of movement, the speed, everything.

I begin to reproduce the current he had shown me.

A blue current field spread across my hand. I begin to control the guys who were running wild and spreading out in all directions.

“This time, Shine…”

Beep. The moment Victor opened his mouth to take out a new bead, a strange tinnitus rang in his head.

“Is it because they’re twins? They’re both the same?”

A short break.

A strange sensation.

The feel of the beads remaining on my fingertips.

“Huh….” I wiggled my fingers. It felt unnatural, as if I had reconnected a video that had been cut off.

“Anyway, try to grasp the flow from today.”

Shine and I nodded. Victor sat down and started organizing his documents.

The unnatural feeling quickly disappeared. I touched my forehead and quietly spoke to Shine.

“Victor must have been a great person.”

“Victor?”

“Yeah. He’s really great.”

However, Shine furrowed her eyebrows as if she didn’t agree with me.

I couldn’t understand Shine’s attitude.

If they had the same type of ability, I would have been able to see at a glance how great the application method Victor had just shown.

“Amy is more amazing.”

Shine turned her head as she said that. I also turned my head to follow her gaze.

Bang! A huge explosion.

The moment Amy’s fist extended in a straight line, the target at the end shook greatly.

A giant iron doll. The fist marks left here and there. Amy’s fist flew over them again.

Bang!

“Take it easy. I said I wouldn’t supply it if it broke again.”

Victor spoke while looking at Amy.

Her actions seemed familiar to Victor.

“The supplies, they’re provided by my house, right?”

Amy glanced back as if to ask what the problem was and smiled slightly.

Immediately after that, she immediately extended her fist. A faint light appeared at her fingertips.

Bang! The neck of the giant iron doll turned.

As if it had been hit by something heavy and huge, the severely distorted face of the iron doll fell to the floor.

The face of the fallen doll looked strangely similar to Jin’s face.
