Wenlu Academy has two gymnasiums, one for the university division and one for the high school division.
The distinction between the two gymnasiums lay not in who used them, but in their intended functions.
The university division’s gymnasium boasted a vast grassy field and seating for tens of thousands, primarily serving as a venue for ball games.
In contrast, the high school gymnasium was smaller, its floor covered with rubberized mats, making it suitable for a diverse range of athletic activities such as running, horizontal bar exercises, gymnastics, or even singing, dancing, rapping, and playing basketball.
Its versatility naturally made it the primary location for physical education classes.
Second-year high school girls were having their class in Zone C6.
Lines of young women, clad in their gymnastics uniforms, stood neatly on the field.
Yet, their gazes constantly drifted towards the direction of Liberal Arts Class 5.
The previous day, Aileen had descended like a deity (TL Note: An internet slang term referring to someone making a powerful, impactful appearance or statement), utterly turning the tide on the forum with a single declaration.
It was rumored that upon seeing her reply, Yun Caiyi’s face had turned green with fury, and she had cursed ‘trash’ a hundred times over.
This was because the student council cadres she had bribed dared not utter a single peep after Aileen had spoken up.
Before this, Aileen’s reputation had been confined largely to the student council, with few outside its circles knowing her name.
However, after her triumphant stand yesterday, she had risen to fame, sparking immense curiosity among her classmates.
Intelligence gathered from the forum revealed that Aileen was in Liberal Arts Class 5 of the second year, described as a beautiful, large-chested blonde.
On the field, clad in a gymnastics uniform, she should have been unmistakable.
Alas, many scanned the area, meticulously searching through Liberal Arts Class 5 student by student, yet Aileen’s figure remained unseen.
It seemed she wasn’t present today, a true pity.
However, as their gazes shifted slightly to the side, they discovered another striking figure.
While soft, fair legs were not a unique sight on the field, with each girl’s beautiful limbs possessing their own distinct charm, the magnificent ‘snow peaks’ (TL Note: A humorous euphemism for large breasts) that grandly filled out a gymnastics uniform were, in Aileen’s absence, absolutely unparalleled.
“I still don’t see Aileen. Is she really here?”
“Stop looking for Aileen; she didn’t come to PE class. Quick, everyone, look at the snow peaks in the distance!”
“Snow peaks? Where?”
“A few classes to the left, over by Liberal Arts Class 2.”
“Oh my god.”
Thus, the previously unknown Xi Yao made her first appearance in the public eye.
The young woman felt a touch of discomfort, saying, “Why does it feel like so many people are staring at me?”
Jiang Li silently glanced at her. “Given how you’re dressed, it’s perfectly normal for people to look.”
Even as a straight woman, she couldn’t help but take a second glance.
“You can’t blame me for that; it’s school regulations,” Xi Yao said innocently. “Everyone wears the same thing.”
“…”
Logically, she had a point.
Whoosh—! Whoosh—!
Following a piercing whistle, the physical education teacher strode before the students, her voice booming like a bell. “No more slacking off, everyone! Today, we’ll only train for one period, and then you’re dismissed to do as you please. Alright, count off!”
Despite her words, she paid little attention during the count-off; when someone miscounted halfway through, she didn’t even notice, seemingly just going through the motions.
It appeared that PE teachers, no matter the world, were always prone to slacking off.
Jiang Li’s premonition proved correct: today’s practice consisted of a simple foundational training of slow jogging and stretching exercises.
Running in the gymnastics uniform, Xi Yao found it slightly better than the white T-shirt she had worn before, though still not perfectly comfortable.
However, since everyone was jogging slowly together, she felt no particular discomfort.
Jiang Li, however, remained highly vigilant, staying almost glued to Xi Yao’s side, ready to catch her at the slightest sign of trouble.
“Xi Yao, whatever you do, don’t push yourself,” she said, running alongside. “The moment you feel even a slight issue, lean towards me immediately. Don’t fall the other way like last time.”
Her anxious demeanor suggested she had already expended her once-in-a-lifetime teleportation ability during their last outing.
The PE teacher had declared they would train for one period, but after glancing at the time and deciding it was ‘close enough’, she waved a dismissive hand. “Dismissed!”
Enough was enough; she wouldn’t let anything delay her trip to the gym to pump iron.
Jiang Li, taking Xi Yao’s small hand, hurried away from the area, heading to Zone A3 to find her sister, moving even faster than the teacher.
“Slow down, Jiang Li, slow down.”
Xi Yao, walking alongside her, panted softly. “I’m a little tired after just running.”
‘That speed’ hardly qualified as running.
Jiang Li hesitated, on the verge of speaking, but ultimately offered a gentle suggestion. “Xi Yao, you really need to improve your physical fitness. At the very least, try not to be so…”
Xi Yao blinked innocently. “So what?”
“…Never mind.”
The truly innocent Jiang Li felt too embarrassed to utter the words.
Zone A3 was a fair distance from where PE class was held, but fortunately, the path was largely deserted.
After walking for about ten minutes, Xi Yao spotted the figure of her elder sister in the distance.
This was Jiang Wan, the school doctor of Wenlu Academy’s high school division, a former genius from the university division’s medical department, and Jiang Li’s sister.
And also the original body’s cheating partner—Xi Yao silently added that thought to herself.
‘No matter, as long as Sister Xi Ruo doesn’t find out,’ she thought.
“Sorry to keep you waiting, Sister,” Jiang Li said, stepping forward.
“It’s fine, I haven’t been here long myself.”
Jiang Wan smiled gently, though she was lying; she had rushed over immediately after lunch, foregoing even a midday nap.
She had applied to the school for permission to use Zone A3 and had prepared many things.
Yet, for this very moment, seeing the girl she adored standing prettily before her, everything was undeniably worth it.
“Come inside first; I’ve prepared some things for you.”
****
A specter, a specter from the university division, hovered within the high school activity zone.
It was Xi Ruo, the super genius of Wenlu Academy, the most dominant and charismatic university division’s top student in history, a true goddess.
At this very moment, she was in Zone C6 of the high school gymnasium, searching for the girl she cherished.
She wore a black jacket, its hood pulled over her head, concealing her face to avoid drawing unwanted attention.
Nearby, several young girls were excitedly discussing something.
“Even though we didn’t see Aileen today, we did spot another girl with really big breasts. Did you guys see her?”
“The one from Class 2, right? I already knew.”
Xi Ruo raised an eyebrow, knowing full well that Xi Yao was in Class 2.
“Don’t you know?” a girl suddenly interjected, a hint of superiority in her tone. “The girl you’re talking about is Xi Yao!”
“Who’s Xi Yao?”
“She’s the female lead in Jiang Li’s scandal! Haven’t you guys paid attention?”
The girls suddenly realized, their eyes widening.
“I remember now! The forum mentioned Jiang Li with a big-chested, white-haired girl… Oh my god, it really is her!”
“They came to PE class together and left together too.”
Xi Ruo crossed her arms, a flicker of displeasure crossing her face.
Although Xi Yao had reported to her much earlier that someone was fabricating rumors to undermine her roommate’s reputation, hearing others discuss it still left a sour taste in her mouth.
‘I should find her first,’ she thought.
However, half an hour passed, and Xi Ruo had scoured the entirety of Zone C6, yet Xi Yao’s shadow remained elusive.
Unable to maintain her composure any longer, she picked up her phone, opened Xi Yao’s chat, and typed out a line of text:
[Xi Yao, you’re not in the gymnasium at all. Where are you?]
Her finger hovered over the send button for a moment before she deleted the message.
‘Calm down,’ she admonished herself. ‘This would reveal my whereabouts. I should phrase it more subtly, perhaps by asking what she’s doing instead.’
