On the eighty-sixth floor of the Demon Abyss, upon the throne of the Purgatory Abyss, Nigore, the King of the Underworld, sat with one leg crossed over the other. Between his fingers, he playfully twirled a stemmed glass filled with a scarlet liquid.
“The blood of a Ninth-Tier Seraphim,” Nigore mused, taking a sip from the glass and licking his lips. “Care to try some?”
Bailuan, having a slight aversion to anything resembling a Bloody Mary, replied, “No, thank you.”
“Right now, all I want to know is what exactly you’re planning!”
“I thought you’d never ask if I didn’t bring it up myself!” Nigore said, rising from his throne.
He moved to Bailuan’s side, leaning in. “Have you ever heard of the Abyss of Sin?”
The stemmed glass in his hand swayed elegantly, the liquid within holding a peculiar beauty.
“The Abyss of Sin?!”
On the continent of Aelta, atop the peak behind Cangnan Academy, Ye Qi sat alone, her legs curled up, chin resting on her knees, and hands clasped around her calves.
The wind ruffled her hair, and her thoughts were abruptly interrupted. ‘Xue’er was sent back to her clan for treatment, and Su Han is already dead…’
She lowered her head in vexation. ‘It’s all my fault… I focused too much on her potential and overlooked everything else…’
“Ye Qi, come back now, it’s time for dinner~” Ruolin said, her hands clasped behind her back as she smiled at Ye Qi.
“Ruolin? You’ve worked hard, but I’m not hungry right now. You go on ahead…” Ye Qi replied, glancing up at Ruolin.
“What, are you still thinking about it?” Ruolin asked, sitting down beside Ye Qi and gazing at the starry sky with her.
“Let the past be the past. What good is regret?” Ruolin’s voice wavered as tears welled in her eyes. “After all, Su Han… she’s gone.”
“Death is a common occurrence. Many people close to me have left, and I’ve personally killed many others.”
“Yet, this feeling of profound sorrow… this is the first time I’ve experienced it…” Ye Qi murmured, placing her left hand over her chest and closing her eyes in silent prayer.
“Oh, don’t dwell on these thoughts. Let’s head back!”
“Mm!” Ye Qi stood up, brushing the dust from her clothes, and then descended the mountain with Ruolin.
Above them, a dazzling meteor streaked across the vast sky…
“To unleash one’s full potential in a single explosive moment, while granting unprecedented power, is a force his frail body simply cannot endure.”
Luo Shang strode towards Bai Que, helping him to his feet as he spoke to Su Han. “This is also why he could never defeat me…”
“Who asked you to interfere!” Bai Que snapped, pushing Luo Shang away and stumbling upright.
Luo Shang said nothing, merely rubbing his nose awkwardly. He was accustomed to Bai Que’s demeanor; it was nothing new to him.
“Pfft~” Su Han, however, couldn’t help but let out a giggle.
She suddenly found Bai Que quite amusing, as adorable as a tsundere child.
“Mission Two is halfway complete: eliminate the Vampire pawn, Noikot. All that remains is to purify the Evil Dragon Graveyard.”
Luo Shang’s index finger gently tapped the golden-yellow gem embedded in his staff.
“Wait, what did you say?!” Su Han asked, surprised. “This isn’t a Dragon Graveyard, but an Evil Dragon Graveyard?”
“Is it the burial ground of the Evil Dragon branch of the Dragon race?”
Luo Shang shook his head. “No, it’s a Dragon Graveyard corrupted by evil forces!”
Just as Su Han was about to ask something else, a golden flash of light from Luo Shang’s fingertip flew into her mind.
Su Han’s spirit jolted. “Is this… memory sharing?”
“I merely compressed a segment of memory into an elemental fragment and transmitted it into your mind,” Luo Shang said nonchalantly, as if what he had done was trivial.
Su Han was stunned. To compress memories onto elemental fragments was a terrifying feat!
Elements would instantly riot the moment the divine soul attempted to implant memories, creating an elemental storm that would tear apart and devour the memory-bearing fragment of the soul.
Anyone suffering from such an elemental backlash would sustain severe soul damage, requiring extensive time to slowly recover.
The fact that Luo Shang had accomplished this with such ease utterly astonished Su Han.
However, most of Su Han’s attention was currently focused on deciphering the memory Luo Shang had transmitted into her mind.
The Dragon Graveyard, situated within the Underworld, had been corrupted by malevolent forces, forcibly retaining dragonkind that should have long since passed away.
Their lingering resentments, never truly dissipating, kept them stubbornly tethered to the brink of life and death.
Yet, unable to break free from the shackles of death or reclaim the vitality of life, no matter how immense their power, they would forever be confined to the Dragon Graveyard.
Golden, wave-like ripples spread out around Luo Shang. Under the suppression of the Holy Spirit elements, twisting shadows faintly appeared within the surrounding death aura.
These shadows were the dragon souls, hidden within the deathly miasma. Though they had lost all conscious thought, their instincts still held a profound fear of the Holy Spirit elements, causing them to writhe and try to flee into the distance under the light.
Yet, at that very moment, Luo Shang suddenly felt an immense pressure. Before he could react, the Holy Spirit elements dimmed, corroded by an evil aura.
Immediately, an intensely evil aura, so malevolent it sent shivers down one’s spine, rushed towards them.
Su Han’s heart instantly flared with alarm; that decaying, cursed essence had clearly disturbed the corrupted dragons within the graveyard.
Su Han’s pupils shifted, her double-pupil eyes appearing as she prepared to strike at any moment.
However, Luo Shang merely flicked his staff, and Holy Spirit elements formed a massive energy barrier around him, shielding Su Han from the terrifying magical attack.
Su Han then looked forward, witnessing a distant section of space warp into a grotesque shape before a colossal black shadow burst forth.
The death aura within the Dragon Graveyard immediately stirred, and an utterly malevolent presence instantly enveloped the entire burial ground.
“Damn it, how can a Two-Headed Venomous Dragon exist here…?”
Luo Shang looked at Bai Que and then gestured to Su Han. Su Han nodded, placing Bai Que’s arm over her shoulder to support him.
The Two-Headed Venomous Dragon, as its name implied, was a dragon species possessing two heads.
Beyond mastering the most fundamental fire magic of dragonkind, it also excelled in poison magic, with its corrosive venom surpassing even dragon’s breath in potency.
The colossal, dark green dragon, wreathed in black mist, opened both its mouths simultaneously.
A dragon’s roar, echoing through the heavens, caused the entire land to tremble.
Bai Que, supported by Su Han, staggered from the force of the roar, then cursed vehemently. “Damn it, if I weren’t in a weakened state, I’d tear that bastard apart!”
Upon hearing this, Su Han couldn’t help but roll her eyes.
Luo Shang held his staff in one hand, muttering incantations.
Behind him, layers of golden colossal waves surged, rising dozens of meters high. These towering, cascading waves roared forth, crashing towards the Two-Headed Venomous Dragon.
This was the Legendary-tier Holy Spirit magic—Life Tide.
Though its primary effect was purification rather than sheer destructive power, the immense magical energy it demanded could instantly drain a Legendary Mage dry.
Thus, while Life Tide was technically a legendary-grade spell, it was only barely considered a half-step legendary magic.
Given its vast area of effect, the Two-Headed Venomous Dragon had nowhere to hide.
However, it refused to be outdone. Facing the magnificent, towering waves, the dragon spewed a stream of green dragon’s breath, laced with corrosive venom.
The sky-obscuring golden waves instantly engulfed the dragon’s breath, then crashed onto the Two-Headed Venomous Dragon, consuming it.
This was not the end; the cascading waves surged one after another, relentlessly pushing the Two-Headed Venomous Dragon hundreds of meters away.
The Two-Headed Venomous Dragon opened its mouths, spewing corrosive liquid that, upon hitting the ground, formed multiple pools of virulent green poison.
Green toxic mist continuously rose from these corrosive pools, quickly filling the entire domain.
The power of destruction and decay transformed this venom beyond the conventional understanding of a toxin; it was a true force of elemental law.
Such potent poison, imbued with the power of rules, was far beyond what dragon’s breath could compare to.
Yet, Su Han sensed that these poisonous pools contained more than just corrosive venom; they were primarily infused with the encroaching power of death.
Without a sound, without even the chant of a magic spell, Luo Shang simply raised his staff with his right hand.
Immediately, dark clouds gathered, and then, with a thunderous “boom,” a torrent of lightning descended, striking the Two-Headed Venomous Dragon’s head, instantly turning it into a bloody mess.
“Magic Domain, Thunder Punishment!”
‘Has this fellow finally used that move…’ Bai Que’s eyes, bright and piercing, fixed on the lightning streaking across the sky.
A Magic Domain was created by mages who infused magical elements with the power of rules they had comprehended.
The deeper one’s understanding of these rules, the more formidable their Magic Domain became.
The Two-Headed Venomous Dragon shrieked in agony, a burnt smell emanating from its severed head.
With only one head remaining, it was now on the brink of death.
Using corrosive dragon’s breath as cover, the Two-Headed Venomous Dragon flapped its tattered wings, attempting to escape. But how could Luo Shang allow it to succeed?
Another torrent of lightning, like a river of stars, descended.
Luo Shang’s cold shout cut through the air: “A mere crawling insect yet to awaken its intellect, you truly disgrace the name of the Dragon race!”
Subsequently, a myriad of lightning bolts rained down like falling stars, transforming the entire Dragon Graveyard into ruins.
Luo Shang placed several magic crystals onto the various nodes of the teleportation array, then activated it.
A flash of light later, the three figures on the array vanished, leaving behind only the depleted magic crystals.
After they emerged, Bai Que asked, “Why did you destroy it?”
Luo Shang did not answer him. Instead, he looked at Bai Que, whose complexion was now slightly flushed, and asked, “Feeling better?”
“I asked you a question!”
“Corroded to the bone by evil forces, its very divine soul completely assimilated—do you truly believe it could be saved?” Luo Shang’s laughter was cold and mocking.
“Did you not notice why a Two-Headed Venomous Dragon, barely stepping into the Tenth-Tier bloodline, had yet to awaken its intellect?”
“I asked why you destroyed the Dragon Graveyard!”
“Because it no longer had any reason to exist…”
“Sigh,” Bai Que said with a sigh. “You were right, after all.”
A noticeable dimness clouded Bai Que’s eyes.
Indeed, from childhood to adulthood, in every aspect, Bai Que had always been slightly inferior to Luo Shang.
Over time, his once untamed arrogance had gradually been worn away. For Bai Que to have persevered until now was already a remarkable feat.
The former Bai Que had been arrogant and unrestrained, full of boundless pride. Now, his spirits were low and his demeanor dull—the contrast was stark.
Even Su Han, standing beside him, felt her mood dip, infected by his gloom.
She then offered, “You have your strengths too, don’t you? In some areas, I believe he can’t compare to you, you know~”
“What areas?” Bai Que asked, his gaze fixed on Su Han with anticipation.
Su Han rubbed her chin. “Hmm… let me think…”
“Go to hell!”
