Health Boy was feeling very excited today.
The reason was that Ruffian’s broadcast yesterday had drifted in three stages from LoL → Zero Two content exchange, successfully collecting 24 million won, and at its peak, reaching 35,000 viewers, ranking first on all of Switch.
The language barrier was there, but men’s hearts are all one, and viewers from all over the world gathered to see the two shaking, gigantic peaks, resulting in this remarkable achievement.
It was a strange feeling to see the broadcast chat, which was usually only filled with Koreans, filled with more than half foreign languages.
During the final 10 minutes of Zero Two, overcoming the language barrier, all men spammed words or emojis meaning ‘heaven’ or something similar, and it looked like a global festival.
Some viewers translated that a bikini broadcast was planned for this summer, and many foreigners promised to follow and eagerly wait for that time.
It was truly a tremendous growth and collection.
“It’s good that she’s growing rapidly. Why does my heart ache so much?”
How could he not be happy that a woman he likes is doing well? However, Health Boy was worried that she, who already seemed to be so high up, would really go to a distant place where he couldn’t even touch her.
If she had been a nobody all her life, he could have approached her saying he would introduce her to broadcasting and become close to her.
But now that she had become a major streamer who could secure nearly 10,000 viewers on her own, that was no longer the case.
Now, even the 15 million won mission he set for reaching Master, it was just attractive, not something she absolutely had to have. She had just proven herself that she had the ability to earn more than that amount.
“Ha.”
Perhaps because she danced hard yesterday, she was taking a break today, and Health Boy couldn’t even run into Ruffian at the gym. His phone buzzed with a notification.
It was a Kakao Talk message from the editor.
[I’ve edited and uploaded the joint broadcast, check it out, hyung]
[And here’s Ruffian’s channel]
A link was attached, announcing that Ruffian’s official ThatTube channel had finally been created.
‘At least I got the first video.’ Thinking that, Health Boy clicked on the channel and his expression hardened.
“Why is the Zero Two already uploaded?”
Ruffian’s Zero Two video was upload number 1, and the joint broadcast video with Health Boy was upload number 2.
[What’s the Zero Two video]
[Why is that uploaded]
Health Boy was very flustered, but the editor replied as if it was no big deal.
[They just edited and uploaded it themselves]
[It’s just cutting and pasting the dance parts]
Upon checking, it was definitely amateur editing.
It was just a 2-minute video cutting and pasting the parts where the outfit changed.
The sound was completely removed, and a single background music was used throughout.
Anyone could make this kind of video, even without any editing knowledge.
“Ugh! Argh!”
The meticulous plan, the expensive sushi omakase and bonus promised to the editor, all went down the drain.
The first video on Ruffian’s official ThatTube channel was not the joint broadcast with Health Boy, but her own Zero Two video.
Health Boy was heartbroken at the failure of his plan and played Ruffian’s 2-minute Zero Two video about 30 times. In the meantime, the channel grew rapidly, and the number of subscribers increased by over a thousand.
As he was about to play it for the 31st time, he suddenly got a call.
[Eugene Ah]
Feeling his heart pounding, Health Boy quickly answered the phone, lowering his voice and acting calm.
“Yes, what can I do for you?”
<Ah, I wanted to ask you something.>
“Yes, ask me anything.”
The way he said it already felt like he was rushing out without even putting on his shoes properly, but Health Boy himself was unaware of it.
<Do you use separate computers for streaming and gaming?>
“Yes, I use two computers.”
<Ah, my computer finally died yesterday, so I was thinking of setting up two new ones, and I was wondering if I could get some advice.>
“Ah, of course, that’s something I can easily help you with. Besides that, if you have any other questions about broadcasting, feel free to ask me anything, anytime.”
Come to think of it, regardless of how big the broadcast has become, Ruffian was still a beginner in broadcasting.
There are many things he could teach her.
How to find an editor or manager, how to deal with all kinds of advertising contracts, and so on.
Fortunately, Ruffian didn’t seem to know any other internet broadcasters.
Then there are still many opportunities for me.
Health Boy’s mind turned into a hopeful flower garden.
“I’ll write up a quote and a recommendation letter and send them to you as soon as possible.”
<Ah, I was just asking for some advice. You don’t have to go that far.>
“No, no. What kind of relationship do we have? We’re in the same boat, having done a joint broadcast together. The bigger Ruffian’s broadcast gets, the more viewers will come to my side. Of course, I have to help you. Right. Right?”
<Oh, then I’ll treat you to a meal next time. I can’t right now, but after I get my payment. Okay.>
‘Isn’t this a date request? She must have feelings for me, too.’
Health Boy’s reason was already half gone, and a meal request = a date request = she has feelings for me → dating and getting married → ‘How many children should we have? We’re well off, so a big family would be fine, right?’ His delusion circuit was running at full capacity.
This level of wishful thinking was practically a disease.
And that day, Health Boy stayed up all night writing the computer quote.
[My computer died, so I’m taking a break.]
My back and arms were sore, so I used the broken computer as an excuse and posted a notice that I was taking a break.
Seeing the comments saying, “Streamer! Open the door!” made me feel a little superior, or maybe it boosted my self-esteem, that so many people were looking for me, and I couldn’t help but smile.
“Hehe.”
I still felt like I was dreaming, floating on air.
Can you believe that I made almost 30 million won from yesterday’s broadcast?
I saw somewhere that the starting salary for a college graduate at a small company is less than 30 million won. How can a high school graduate, unemployed person make 30 million won in one broadcast?
Why study? Why make an effort? Just jump into the Han River and become a pretty girl, damn it!
The growth rate of ThatTube is also extraordinary. I just uploaded the Zero Two edited video that So-eun made out of boredom last night, and when I checked this morning, the number of subscribers exceeded 10,000.
Countless small-time YouTubers want to reach that number but give up in tears because they can’t. That number, I reached it overnight.
Then I’ll say to those small-time YouTubers.
If you’re so unsatisfied, then have bigger boobs! Have a thinner body so your dance lines look pretty! Or do both!
The world is a cruel and unfair place.
From birth, people are divided into gold spoons, silver spoons, bronze spoons, dirt spoons, diamond spoons, nuclear spoons, and all sorts of classes.
And from there, there are pretty people, handsome people, ugly people, people who are painful to look at, parents who are neglectful, strict, abusive, or loving, living environments that are healthy, dirty, or terrible, whether you have talent or not, and if you do, in what field, and whether that field is currently promising or ruined.
The part that humans can overcome through effort is really just a tiny fraction.
Even for that tiny fraction, people talk about genetics and talent.
A human’s life is almost entirely filled with luck.
I’m a fatalist who denies free will. You haven’t chosen anything.
Nothing. Not even the things you firmly believe you chose or worked for.
But even in such a cruel world, as long as I’m happy, that’s all that matters, right?
Yes, in this cruel and beautiful world.
“Kuhaha, hahahahaha! Hahahahahaha!”
“Unnie, why are you laughing like a weirdo?”
“Ah.”
I was laughing like the Joker in a movie when So-eun caught me.
Suddenly, embarrassment rushed to my face, and I turned bright red.
“You looked like you were in middle school just now.”
“Y-you deal with weebs too. I don’t think it’s good to look down on otaku.”
“Says the weeb.”
“Hey!”
Stop teasing me. If a 7-year-younger girl teases me any more, I’ll die of embarrassment.
Seeing my teary-eyed expression, So-eun stopped teasing me.
“So what were you thinking so hard about that you didn’t even hear the door open?”
“So-eun, we have this thing called privacy, could you at least knock before entering?”
We might be in an embarrassing situation. If you just open the door like that.
“I did knock. I thought you were sleeping because you didn’t answer, so I came in.”
Just coming in because I didn’t answer. From now on, I’ll have to lock the door when I’m doing something I don’t want to be caught doing.
“Why did you come in?”
“I brought your laundry that I washed and dried. I put it all away in your closet.”
“Ah, thank you.”
“So what were you fantasizing about that made you laugh like that? Tell me too!”
So-eun jumped onto the bed next to me as if she had to hear it and started tickling my sides. Ugh! I’m really ticklish!
“Stop! I’ll tell you! Huek!”
“Hmm?”
“I was just thinking about how well I’m doing with money, how many people are watching my stream, and how well ThatTube is doing, and how happy I am right now. That’s all!”
I might have added a little more, but everything I said was true! Really!
“I see. Our princess is happy because she’s doing so well.”
“Will you stop calling me by that weird title?”
“Hmph, does the princess not like being called a princess?”
“Stop it! It’s creepy!”
This is driving me crazy in many ways.
Being called a princess by a 7-year-younger girl when my self-consciousness is male and my actual age is 28.
This, anyone would have committed suicide out of shame.
“Okay, okay. You’ll cry if I tease you anymore.”
“I, I wouldn’t have cried, you know?”
I can’t really think of any other way to stop it, though. Anyway, I don’t think I would have, right?
Whatever.
