Encounter and Concern

Chapter 431,059 words9 min read

I don’t know if it was a blessing or a curse, but I found myself face to face with the class captain, and I had a bad feeling about it. I feared the days ahead would be tough.

There were ten minutes left before school ended, and my sister was probably still waiting for me at the school gate. I pulled out my phone and found I had missed a call from her. I had my phone on silent in class, and I’d forgotten to turn it back on after the incident with Chao. I quickly called my sister back.

“I’m at the school dorm, I’ll be at the gate in a minute. I see you!” I hung up and ran towards her.

Through the phone, I could hear the concern in my sister’s voice. She was truly the school’s belle, and even after school, there were still guys who couldn’t keep their eyes off her. The moment I appeared, her stormy face lit up with a smile. Her long, beautiful legs were casually draped over the bicycle, leaving me with a captivating back view.

“I’m sorry, my phone was on silent,” I apologized and climbed onto the back seat, holding onto her thighs. Her legs were as soft and comforting as ever, like… If it were Chenxi or the class captain, I would have fallen off the bike before I hugged them. I knew my sister cared for me and wouldn’t hurt me.

My sister started the bike, weaving through the dense crowd. Her skills were impressive, and she never collided with anyone. I noticed we weren’t heading home but toward an unfamiliar path. Ten minutes later, she parked the bike in a park-like area.

“Sister, aren’t we going home?” I was anxious to get back, and I knew my mom would be worried if I stayed out too long.

“We’ll go back a little later,” Xia Yinuo said with a mischievous smile. “Little brother, do you know how to pursue a girl?”

“Huh?” I was taken aback. She had always told me to focus on my studies and not to date. Why was she bringing this up now? Did she change her mind?

“I don’t allow you to date because you’re too young. But you should still learn how to pursue a girl. Otherwise, you won’t have a girlfriend when you grow up,” Xia Yinuo said, wiping off the bench and sitting down with a meaningful look at Jiu.

I was shocked. I had never pursued a girl before, and I didn’t know how to win them over. “Sister, how do you make a girl happy?” I asked, remembering how Ma Chao had confessed to Shahu Wu and gotten slapped. I must have done something wrong.

“To pursue a girl, you must always consider her feelings. Now, pretend I’m the girl you like and try to win me over. You can act on any ideas you have,” Xia Yinuo said with a smirk.

I was so surprised that I spat out the water I had been sipping, and the bottle fell to the ground. I couldn’t believe what I was hearing. Pursue my own sister? That was too weird. Normal people didn’t date or even think about their sisters in that way. I knew my sister didn’t understand how bold a boy’s thoughts could be, and I had imagined pushing a girl I liked in my dreams. That kind of thing would never work in reality, and I would be in big trouble if my sister found out.

“No way, we’re siblings! Siblings can’t get married,” I quickly rejected the idea.

“Jiu, just call me by my name when we’re out. ‘Sister’ is the best name to call me in bed. We’re just pretending to be boyfriend and girlfriend, I never said anything about marriage. Or do you already have dreams of marrying me?” Xia Yinuo asked with a smile.

“Hmph, I won’t talk to you anymore,” I retorted, turning my head away from her. I had never seen her like this, and I couldn’t handle it.

“Alright, I was just kidding. I want some ice cream,” Xia Yinuo said, seeing Jiu’s reluctance.

“I’ll go get it,” I said, remembering the money my mom had given me when I left the house. There was an ice cream stand nearby, and I bought a strawberry flavor one for my sister. I didn’t buy one for myself, remembering how she liked sweet and sour flavors. When I returned, my sister was lying on the bench, eyes closed, with her legs exposed in a way that caught the attention of nearby old men. I took off my shirt and covered her, drawing their attention and admiration. I ignored them and played a game with my sister, blinding her with my shirt and making her guess what I was holding. She guessed it was a sausage, and I was so embarrassed that I fed her the ice cream to shut her up. She enjoyed it, and I watched her with a complicated mix of feelings. I wanted to go home, but I couldn’t leave her. She had always been there for me, and I would always be there for her.

Later, when we got home, my mom wasn’t there. She had sent a message saying she was on a business trip and wouldn’t be back for a while. I listened to my sister, and I was sure she would take care of me. She went to her room, and I fell asleep on the couch, only to wake up later, realizing it was already dark. I went to check on her, but she wasn’t in her room. I was worried, and I didn’t know what to do.

As I walked towards her room, I saw her lying on the bed, her legs and shoulders exposed. She was in pain, and I could see the sweat on her neck and shoulders. I rushed to her side, holding her and calling her name, but she didn’t respond. I was scared and didn’t know what to do. I called for help, but she just shook her head, telling me to call her by her name and that she was fine. I didn’t believe her, but I didn’t know how to help her. I was lost and afraid, and I didn’t know what to do.
