The Suited Tiger’s Onslaught

Chapter 43 • 1,454 words • 13 min read

“It must be stopped!” Despite her ignorance of the tiger’s origin, Huang Xiu understood that she had to intervene at once.

With a mere thought, the young woman commanded the Osmanthus Tree Giant, which then raised the mutated Iron Tree held in its hand high above its head.

Immediately, countless sharp spikes, like a torrential downpour, shot towards the very end of the retreating group.

At the same instant, Huang Xiu leaped down from the Osmanthus Tree Giant, her eyes following the colossal, War Tree-like figure as it surged forward, joining forces with the cactus, Huang Xiaoxian, to attack the suited tiger.

With an assault from the front, another from the rear, and even ranged attacks from above, Huang Xiu unleashed her full power in that decisive moment.

The barrage of spikes was the first to reach the tiger.

The tiger, utterly fearless, abruptly reared onto its hind legs, its chest expanding to an exaggerated, balloon-like proportion.

“ROAR!!!”

Visible sound waves, rippling outwards in layers, tore up the earth, snapped ancient trees, and knocked the finger-thick, razor-sharp spikes from the sky, one after another.

Yet, it was not over; those sound waves, imbued with profound majesty, sent the girls toppling like dominoes from back to front, leaving only a handful conscious in an instant.

One by one, they fled past Huang Xiu’s flanks.

Under the moonlight, the striking long-haired young woman stood alone, an isolated figure amidst the terrified girls scrambling away behind her.

Her stillness, contrasted with their retreat, made it seem as though she walked against the current of the fleeing crowd.

The faint breeze stirred by the girls rushing past rustled the young woman’s hair and skirt hem, yet it could not sway her resolve.

Everything on the battlefield was reflected in her pupils.

Unaffected by the roar, the cactus Huang Xiaoxian seized the moment when the sky-borne spikes were falling to charge forward.

Its strategy was to exploit the chaos.

“Insignificant creature!”

The tiger sneered, then swatted with a heavy paw.

The plump cactus spun through the air, flung a considerable distance, then landed and tumbled several times at the far end of a small path.

In a flash, it vanished from sight.

Nevertheless, the cactus had not been entirely useless.

After delivering the blow, the tiger’s right paw instantly began to throb and itch; upon raising it, it discovered the pad was riddled with tiny, brown spines.

“Damn it!” it cursed under its breath.

‘What a revolting ability,’ it thought, ‘so unexpectedly difficult to defend against.’

The throbbing in its paw pad did not distract the tiger for long, as the leaping Osmanthus Tree Giant had already reached it.

A massive wooden hand swept directly towards it, imbued with the force of a landslide.

The howling wind pressure made its golden fur tremble incessantly.

The tiger’s wild eyes narrowed slightly; even it dared not directly withstand such a terrifying assault.

‘But it’s too slow!’

“ROAR!” The tiger bellowed, pushing off with its legs, transforming into a bounding, leaping tiger as it soared high into the air.

Having evaded the sweeping blow, it offered the Osmanthus Tree Giant no chance for a second attack.

With a single punch and a single paw strike, it shattered the Osmanthus Tree Giant’s thick thigh, sending the War Tree-like colossus howling to the ground.

“Strong, but slow, riddled with weaknesses!” The tiger withdrew its paws and stood upright; after the brief skirmish, its suit surprisingly bore only a few slight creases.

It gently smoothed out the creases with a paw, then extended its tongue to lick its injured right paw.

Finally, it turned its head to face the young woman, whose expression had turned grim.

“What a pity, to fall short at the final hurdle!”

Unlike the monsters that came before it, this creature not only dodged and evaded but also employed verbal taunts.

Huang Xiu paid no mind to the taunts directed at her.

Her expression, however, darkened slightly.

A crushing defeat, an undeniable rout.

Her two most powerful mutated plants, standing by her side, had been struck down and incapacitated without even lasting a single move.

Possessing such terrifying combat prowess, this tiger, even if not the principal, surely held the rank of a vice-principal or a similarly high-ranking leader.

“What are you?” With her hands clasped behind her back, the young woman strove to keep her voice calm.

She was buying time.

She waited for the girls who had fled the school gates to get as far away as possible, and for any potential reinforcements that might arrive.

“Still feigning composure?” The tiger burst into laughter, pointing at its black nose. “I can smell the fear within you!”

Its nose twitched subtly.

“Ah, and the fragrance of a beautiful maiden, as well as…” It abruptly lowered its head, fixing its gaze on Huang Xiu, a red gleam flashing in its eyes. “The sweet, fragrant scent of blood!”

‘Has it been discovered?’

The more tense the situation became, the stranger Huang Xiu’s calmness grew.

She offered a faint smile, no longer concealing her intentions, and decisively flung her right hand, scattering her blood as widely as possible across the surrounding grass.

“Awaken!” The young woman’s cherry-red lips parted softly.

Void energy surged forth from within her, and dozens of mutated plants burst free from the soil, charging towards the tiger like a mighty army.

“Oh? An ability to manipulate plants with blood.” A flicker of surprise crossed the tiger’s face as it instantly saw through Huang Xiu’s secret.

It chuckled, “What an excellent ability, little girl; you truly seem to be a genius!”

“Wait, you’re not a Void Realm (TL Note: A dangerous dimension or alternate plane of existence from which creatures often emerge.) creature!”

Huang Xiu’s entire body trembled violently, and then, pushing off with the tips of her toes, she hastily retreated.

‘How could a Void Realm creature possess such extensive knowledge!’

“Haha, when did I ever claim to be a Void Realm creature?”

The tiger struck left and right, carving a path through the green ocean of mutated plants.

Although most of these mutated plants were mere common weeds transformed into foot soldiers, their combined combat strength was far from negligible.

Even the Pig-Head Teacher, after dealing with just a few, had sustained considerable injuries.

Yet, this tiger, facing such a multitude of mutated plants, remained entirely unscathed, save for a few stray hairs it had shed.

Once again, Huang Xiu realized the immense disparity in power between herself and her adversary.

This was not an opponent her level was meant to confront.

Therefore…

“Where in the hell are my reinforcements?!” Huang Xiu gritted her teeth, her face contorted with resentment.

“You rotten old man, just you wait!”

She vowed that if she managed to escape safely, she would absolutely prank that old man Yuan Fei mercilessly.

‘He’s truly unreliable, that old bastard!’

*Swish, swish, swish!*

Sweeping left and right, the sharp tiger claws instantly shredded the vine-like mutated weeds.

A plant, resembling a dry stick insect and wielding a spiked club, leaped forward, hacking downwards with brutal force.

This was an elite among the plant-sea, a mutated foxtail grass.

A hint of mockery flickered across the tiger’s face; it neither dodged nor evaded, allowing the spiked club to strike its head.

*Thwack!*

The spiked club bent instantly into an arc.

The tiger shook its head, then casually swatted the foxtail grass away with a paw, emerging without even a scratch.

Its crimson tiger eyes fixed on the fleeing young woman in the distance, the undisguised malice radiating from them was chilling.

‘A mere Quicksilver-tier (TL Note: A power ranking within this world’s cultivation system, indicating a specific level of strength.) Awakened, yet possessing such combat prowess.’

‘Given time, once she matured, she was bound to become a top-tier powerhouse of the Great Xia Nation.’

‘Perhaps she might even ascend to become one of the Five Supremes.’

“Haha, too bad you met me!” The tiger roared, preparing to pounce on Huang Xiu. “Let the death of a genius like you become a sacrifice for the Unification of All Ages!”

Just then, however, a white figure suddenly caught up from behind, grasping its tail and forcibly pulling its airborne body back down to the ground.

“You again!” Without even turning its head, the tiger recognized the newcomer by their familiar scent.

“You managed to escape by sheer luck, yet you dare to return and seek death!”

It roared, whipping its tail with immense force, sending the white figure flying back over ten meters in an instant.

Only a crimson arc of blood remained, splattering through the air and falling like raindrops.
