Chapter 44: Georgio’s vs Dragon King Squadron

Originally, Cancer was designed as a raid boss for 20 players.

This meant it was structured for twenty players to strategize and defeat.

The path of light splits into five directions. Four players would take charge of each path, clearing them while blocking Cancer’s resurrection and healing skills. This was the basic strategy for the first phase.

If even one person made a mistake, the entire party would be wiped out, forcing a retry.

It was a demanding foe.

However, that was in the game.

This is reality.

This is the world I protected as a hero and now seek to dominate as a villain.

With that premise, the strategy to defeat Cancer is simple.

Forget twenty players—bring an overwhelming number of troops instead.

“Uraaaaahhhh!”

“DIE! YOBBO! DIE!”

“Peace, peace. Silence.”

The villains, each shouting their own crazed lines, were tearing through Cancer’s subordinates.

They even took the opportunity to pummel the dazed heroes alongside them.

Among them were skilled members from the Sacred Tree group, as well as my own subordinates from Vengeance.

“You lowly species…! How dare you!”

Veins bulged on Cancer’s forehead as he swung his staff.

A crimson light radiated from the advanced combatants, who began to rampage, swinging their massive fists.

“Ahhh! W-wait! This isn’t what I signed up for—aaack!”

A nearby hero was torn apart.

It was Shin/Red from the Dragon King Squad.

His upper and lower halves were separated, leaving only a lifeless body.

Cancer seemed to be meddling with the hero’s corpse, causing it to glow faintly.

I had hoped it would cause more trouble, but it’s a shame.

As I observed, Lena approached me with a question.

“I’m a little curious. Couldn’t you just use your skill to take Cancer’s head right now and end this?”

“Jeo’s Azure isn’t that convenient a skill. It requires lifespan as payment, you know. Fool.”

Lua interjected, chiding Lena.

“It’s only 500 meters. You could walk there in three minutes. Isn’t that a small price to pay?”

“Jeo’s scythe can only instantly kill enemies with lower stats than himself. On top of that, it costs as much lifespan as

the target has left. If Cancer has thirty years left, Jeo would lose thirty years. Get it now?”

“So, does that mean you tricked me too, Jeo? Obviously, my future is brighter than yours.”

I didn’t respond.

Even if I used Death’s Azure on Lena, it would likely be difficult to instantly kill her.

“Jeo’s Azure should only be used to kill abilities, not individuals. The stronger the ability, the greater the burden. If

the skill level is higher than Jeo’s Apocalypse, it won’t work.”

“Lua, how do you even know that? I’ve never explained it to you. And about the skill levels…”

That information only appears in the system window, visible only to me.

Although it’s mentioned in the Nameless ranking, it’s categorized vaguely as high, medium, or low.

“Oh, Jeo talked about it in his sleep.”

“…Did you happen to use any dark matter on me afterward?”

“N-no! I’d never do something so underhanded!”

Lua blushed, protesting vehemently.

Something about this feels suspicious.

“Fine, I understand. In any case, I’ll use Azure if necessary.”

Cancer raised his staff, clearly intending to resurrect the combatants.

I couldn’t let that happen.

“Death’s Azure.”

[CASU■■AERUL]

The world inverted.

I could now see the souls that existed in all living things, objects, and even abstract concepts.

Scythe in hand, I sprinted forward.

I weaved through the battling monsters and villains, heading straight toward my target—Cancer.

He was casting a skill.

The soul embedded within the skill began to stir.

He precisely aimed and slashed with the scythe.

The scythe, having harvested a soul, glowed with satisfaction as it voraciously devoured the resurrection skill.

“What the—! Where did my divine power— Hrk!”

Cancer, startled, gasped at the shadow looming before him.

“I’ll ask you once. Is Rector watching this battle?”

“How dare you speak His Majesty’s sacred name with that filthy mouth, you inferior being!”

Cancer swung his staff, attempting to cast a skill. Once again, I snuffed it out with the scythe.

“Ugh.”

Realizing the gravity of the situation, Cancer’s trembling arms betrayed his growing fear.

“Care to try again?”

“You…!”

Every time Cancer attempted to cast another skill, I absorbed it with my scythe.

“Go ahead, try again.”

“Grrr!”

“Try harder.”

Cancer’s movements came to an abrupt halt. He had run out of divine power.

“Now, answer my question. Is Rector watching?”

“Ugh… He is. How could I show His Majesty such disgrace…”

“Good. Then Rector must already know. Tell him I am Georzius.”

I grabbed Cancer’s head and lifted him into the air, making my declaration. His long hat fell off, revealing a

grotesque bald head. Though these freakish beings’ so-called hair resembled stiff fibers more than actual hair,

distinguishing between the two seemed pointless.

“Thanks to you, I’ve grown stronger alongside my forces. But don’t expect gratitude. My goal is to dominate this

world, and you monstrosities are nothing more than nuisances in my way.”

“Ugh… Ugh…”

Cancer groaned as I began to tighten my grip on his skull with my left hand.

“Ha-ha-ha! Annihilation! Total annihilation!”

“It’s over! We’ve taken them all down!”

The villains had defeated all of Cancer’s combatants. His invincibility buff had been nullified.

Perfect timing.

“So, you said you wanted a duel. Get ready for it. Soon, I’ll make your head look just like this.”

With that, I activated the Red of War and clenched my right fist without hesitation, launching it straight at Cancer’s head.

Boom!

A deafening explosion echoed as Cancer’s exterior began to shatter. With all my strength, I unleashed a flurry of

blows. His skull caved in, his neck bones snapped, and severed blood vessels left his tongue dangling limply from a

jaw that could no longer support it.

The job was done.

The subjugation of Cancer was complete.

I raised his head toward the media helicopters.

“Did you all see that? This is the power of a villain!”

With a triumphant shout, I ripped a switch from Cancer’s head.

A dazzling array of orange particles appeared and disappeared, shimmering in intricate patterns.

The Quantum Switch.

I liked it.

I tossed the rest of the corpse onto the ground. My subordinates would retrieve it later.

Surely Rector witnessed this battle too. I hope he’s trembling with anticipation.

“Vengeance!”

Someone suddenly charged at me, moving at a considerable speed.

A sword cloaked in blue dragon energy hurtled toward me.

Jisehwa.

So, he’d managed to break through the villains and make it here. Impressive resolve.

“Hmph.”

Naturally, I stopped his blade with ease.

Using my elbow and knee, I trapped the blade perfectly and halted it.

“You lunatic…!”

Jisehwa, clearly shaken, tried to recover, but I twisted my body and delivered a swift kick to his side. He flew through

the air, barely managing to land in a roll.

“Hand over Pegasus’ switch!”

From my right, Shin Yoogyeong came flying toward me.

Shouldn’t she be saying something more dramatic, like avenging her fallen comrades?

I blocked her attack effortlessly with one hand and slammed her to the ground.

“What did you do to Eui-seok?!”

Finally, Kang Yerin charged at me.

All of their fighting techniques were things I had taught them. They were nothing more than watered-down versions of me.

“Clock out!”

Kang Yerin activated her time-slowing ability.

Even so, it only made my movements slightly sluggish—hardly enough to affect me significantly.

At least, that’s what I thought.

“Hmm.”

To my surprise, my entire body froze, completely immobilized. Even my thoughts started to grind to a halt.

I responded quickly, using The Dragon’s Eye on Kang Yerin.

[Yellow Clocker / Kang Yerin]

[Hero]

[Class: S]

[Ability: Chronodragon Nozdormu Lv.10]

[Affiliation: Seoul Hero Association]

[Alignment: Neutral/Good]

[Talent: Hero of Light (SSS)]

[Title: Head of the Hero Association (SSS)]

[Hidden Role: Power-Concealing Citizen (A)]

[Traits: A master strategist whose greatest weakness lies in her inability to express emotions honestly.]

Level 10?

That’s a bit unexpected.

Kang Yerin had never stepped outside the Hero Association except for her missions as part of the Dragon King Squad.

Because of that, she hadn’t been involved in the terrorist activities against me.

What had she been doing all this time? Was she holed up in the training grounds, perhaps?

Even so, this level of growth shouldn’t have been possible through training alone.

Still, if her ability had truly reached Level 10, that explained everything.

Had her skill evolved from time deceleration to time stop?

“Haaah!”

Kang Yerin lunged at me, throwing a punch.

Of course, it wasn’t a problem.

If time stopped, I only needed to force it to resume.

“Azure of Death.”

Accelerating time around myself, I moved behind Kang Yerin. She turned, startled by my sudden disappearance,

only to receive a powerful kick to her spine.

“Ugh!”

She collapsed, along with the other two. Above them, Lua’s dark matter—undetectable by normal perception—

amplified gravity, pinning them down.

“Urgh…!”

“Ugh!”

Unable to resist the overwhelming gravitational force, the three were immobilized.

I sneered at their helplessness.

“Do you still not know your place? S-class heroes? The Dragon King Squad? What a joke. This is the extent of your so-called elite force.”

“You… b*stard…!”

Jisehwa gritted his teeth, blood trickling from his lips as he forced out his words.

“You must hold a grudge against me. But that’s on you. Red Dragon told me all about your atrocities. It’s laughable.

Why is it that when we do the same thing, we’re villains, but you’re called heroes?”

“The same?!”

Shin Yookyung ground her teeth in anger.

“That’s right. That’s why I attacked you. Be grateful. Thanks to Vengeance, the Dragon King Squad can still call themselves heroes.”

“Utter nonsense!”

“Nonsense? Just now, it was the Villain Alliance that defeated Cancer. If it weren’t for us, you would’ve fallen, and

the hostages would all be dead. Do you really think the public will still recognize you as heroes after that?”

“So what, are you saying you’re going to become a hero now?”

Jisehwa shouted furiously.

I chuckled darkly.

“Of course not. We’re villains. And villains follow their own rules.”

At that moment, Cancer’s barrier began to collapse.

The timing was perfect.

I activated my communicator.

“This is Zeorgeus, issuing an order to all villains. The buildings within the barrier are about to collapse. Use your

abilities to prevent the destruction of the Gokang Stone Foundation, D&P Finance, and Blue Sky Capital.”

Following my command, the villains sprang into action. Lua also withdrew her dark matter, releasing the Dragon King Squad.

“Collapse? What do you mean?”

Kang Yerin looked at me with confusion.

“Cancer’s barrier is designed to destroy everything inside. He never intended to let the hostages live.”

“No way… Then, what about the other two buildings?”

“You coward! Are you just going to let the rest die?!”

Jisehwa’s accusations made me laugh.

“What nonsense. They’re your responsibility to protect.”
