The door opened, and standing outside was a 25-year-old young woman.
The young woman wore coarse cloth clothing, had brown hair styled in a rather dangerous way, yet looked kind-eyed and gentle, holding a square paper box in her hands.
Lily’s first reaction was: Who is this?
Could it be another one of Letia’s relatives? She remembered Letia had quite a few aunts.
However, Letia looked just as confused, staring blankly at the uninvited guest.
“Excuse me, who are you?”
“Sorry to bother you, I’m your neighbor.”
“So you’re a neighbor?” Letia stood up straight and gave the neighbor a small bow. “Hello, I just moved in. My name is Letia.”
Lily was stunned.
She had thought Letia would snap at the neighbor: A mere human dares disturb my mood? You must be tired of living! Then reveal her true form and unleash a breath that would turn all the nearby houses to ashes.
Instead, Letia was so polite that Lily felt caught off guard.
“Hello, I’m Lisana,” the neighborly woman bowed politely. “I just came by to say hello and brought a little gift.”
Lisana raised the square box in her hand, and Lily received it respectfully.
“Thank you, Auntie Lisana.”
“Oh my, do I really look that old?”
“I’m sorry!” Lily hurriedly corrected herself. “Thank you, Sister Lisana!”
Lisana laughed, cupping her cheeks, but quickly noticed that something about the atmosphere was off.
She had assumed Letia and Lily were a couple, yet the two of them seemed rather distant.
Lisana looked at Letia curiously, then sized up Lily from head to toe.
“Um… excuse me…” Lily asked nervously.
“Oh, it’s nothing. I just thought… you two are a couple, right?”
“Of-of course we are! We even have a daughter!”
“I see… perhaps I was imagining things…”
Lily understood Lisana’s hesitation.
She also knew that she and Letia seemed distant. From the way they stood apart, anyone could see there was about a fifty-centimeter gap between them.
That distance hardly looked like that of a couple.
Letia realized the danger too.
If Lisana started gossiping with the neighbors—saying things like Our neighbors already have a daughter, but the two of them don’t seem close at all… could it just be a physical relationship?—then the whole town would be abuzz.
The last thing Letia wanted was to draw attention.
She had to fix this.
As long as they looked like a loving couple, everything would be fine.
So Letia secretly gave Lily’s small bottom a gentle squeeze.
Lily let out a sharp yelp and turned bright red, staring at Letia.
“W-what are you doing? Don’t touch me like that in front of a guest!”
“Sorry,” Letia said cheerfully, “but Lily is just too cute.”
“You! Don’t say such embarrassing things!”
Lily angrily pounded Letia’s chest.
But her chest was surprisingly soft and springy, and after hitting it a few times, it was Lily herself who grew more flustered.
Lisana watched the two of them in surprise, then her expression softened with understanding.
“My apologies, I see I’ve interrupted you two.”
“N-no, not at all!” Lily protested tearfully. “It’s just that Sister Letia is so shameless—she even touches me in front of guests!”
“Oh ho ho, what a loving couple you are,” Lisana said enviously. “If I stay any longer, it would be rude of me. I’ll take my leave now!”
Lily wanted to stop her, but Lisana quickly shut the door and left as if fleeing.
The room fell quiet again, and Lily glared angrily at Letia.
“Why did you touch me in front of a guest!”
“Sorry, it’s just because you’re too cute.”
“Don’t try to brush it off! You just wanted to claim your territory, didn’t you?”
“That’s right,” Letia said with a triumphant look. “You belong to me, and I won’t let anyone else covet your body.”
As she spoke, Letia moved closer and wrapped her arms around Lily.
Lily pushed her away in a panic, covering her chest with a flushed face.
“What’s with you? Always trying to touch me for no reason!”
“Hey, aren’t you my possession?” Letia said with a teasing smile. “I can touch you whenever and however I want, can’t I?”
“You… you’re utterly shameless!”
Faced with Lily’s scolding, Letia only looked even more delighted.
To her, Lily’s angry words sounded more like shy complaints.
Lily felt flustered and stomped angrily toward the bathroom.
She made a face at Letia before darting inside and locking the door tightly.
Since last night, she had been constantly teased and felt as if she was still covered in Letia’s scent. She couldn’t wait to wash it all off.
If they were still living in the cave, she would have to risk being peeped at while bathing.
But things were different in the city. Here, bathrooms had locks, and Lily could at least protect her privacy… though Letia had already trampled over that privacy.
Mira lay flat on the rooftop, holding a monocular telescope.
The wind howled, tugging at her fox ears and the hem of her clothes. Mira stood as still as a statue, staring intently at a window 200 meters away.
Through the window, she could see Letia and Lily, apparently receiving a visitor.
“Wow… Sister Letia’s back still looks so amazing… so majestic!” Mira blushed and fidgeted shyly. “I just want to leap into your arms and cuddle you!”
In her mind, she imagined the scene of Letia pinning her against a wall.
But the sweet fantasy was shattered by cruel reality.
Letia reached out and patted Lily’s bottom—perfectly visible from Mira’s vantage point—followed by the pair flirting playfully.
Mira clenched her teeth in frustration.
“That wicked woman! How dare she seduce my Sister Letia!”
Mira was convinced that Lily was a bad woman.
If not for Lily’s coquettish charm, Letia would never have treated her with such indulgence.
Mira was determined to remove any threats around her beloved Sister Letia.
Even if the two of them already had a daughter, Mira’s resolve would never waver.
“I’ll play the villain if I must, as long as I can protect Sister Letia’s happiness! —If Sister Letia is willing, I can even become the child’s foster mother!”
Mira adjusted the focus of her telescope, her eyes full of determination. “Just wait. I’ll definitely catch you in the act!”
She kept her eyes fixed on Lily’s every move until Lily disappeared into the bathroom.
From this angle, there was no way to see inside, and of course, the bathroom didn’t have transparent windows.
Come to think of it, the two of them didn’t seem that close as a couple.
They acted affectionate in front of others, but in private, they seemed to clash.
If that was the case, Mira still had a chance to step in.
Unable to watch Lily any longer, she shifted her gaze to Letia.
Letia still looked as gallant and dignified as ever, making Mira’s heart flutter.
Then, all of a sudden, Letia turned and glared sharply in her direction.
Mira gasped and accidentally dropped her telescope to the side.
“No way… she noticed me from this distance?” Mira blushed furiously. “As expected of Sister Letia… she’s just too amazing!”
If she hesitated any longer, Letia and Lily’s relationship might truly mend.
Mira had to strike hard and win Sister Letia back from that wicked woman!
