Games are truly wondrous things; when one plays, time effortlessly slips away.
One might intend to play for just a short while, only to find the sky has darkened as the hours pass, as if time itself has accelerated somewhere.
In this regard, video games bear a certain resemblance to ‘Made in Heaven’ (TL Note: A Stand ability from JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure, known for accelerating time).
This squad of five played from afternoon well into the evening.
They traversed every map, enjoying a thoroughly exhilarating spree of kills.
Under Bai Jingjing’s guidance, all five players even advanced a rank.
“It’s almost bedtime. Let’s wrap this up.”
“Chuxia, next time, you absolutely have to let the big sister carry us to victory again.”
“Take care, Sister Xiaobai. Get some good rest.”
Oh no, Bai Jingjing had truly become the team leader now.
A myriad of emotions swirled within Xia Chu.
While she was naturally pleased they got along so well, her original intention in inviting Bai Jingjing to play was to showcase her own formidable strength and reclaim her authority as the ‘big sister’.
Yet, she discovered the other was even more formidable.
“Hmph~”
Bai Jingjing closed her laptop, stretched lazily, and glanced out the window at the darkening sky.
Although night had fallen, it wasn’t particularly late, certainly not yet time for immediate sleep.
“Xia Chu-jie (TL Note: An honorific for an older sister or respected older female friend), what would you like to eat?” the young girl asked softly.
Dinner had been a simple, unfulfilling affair, hastily eaten due to their eagerness to play.
In the world of esports, where every second counts, how could one waste precious time on a meal?
“Hmm… noodles.”
Indeed, there weren’t many options available at such a late hour, a thought Bai Jingjing shared.
With a turn, she went to prepare noodles for her.
Bored, Xia Chu logged onto QQ to check for new messages.
She could also have entered the game group chat to see how people were praising her girlfriend.
However, the moment she went online, she noticed Luo Xuan’s chat window at the top, displaying several messages sent to her.
[Eylla: What exactly are you two up to? Why is it impossible to find you on weekends?]
[Chuxia: We went to play games, so I wasn’t online.]
Luo Xuan, on the other end, scoffed.
‘Playing games,’ she thought.
‘What kind of ‘proper’ game could possibly consume so much time that they couldn’t even log on to check messages?’
Bai Jingjing had even mentioned earlier that it wasn’t an all-ages game.
But it didn’t matter.
Luo Xuan’s reason for messaging her was, after all, to urge her to ‘work hard’ at ‘sesese’ (TL Note: A euphemism for intimate activities, often playful or suggestive in web novels), making Bai Jingjing feel like her ‘knowledge reserves’ were insufficient.
In short, Luo Xuan was encouraging ‘sesese’.
[Eylla: ‘Playing games,’ you say? Do you really think I don’t know what you’re doing? Come to think of it, you once swore on your chest you’d never ‘sesese,’ but didn’t you end up doing it anyway?]
Xia Chu’s pretty face flushed faintly.
[Chuxia: No such thing.]
[Eylla: ‘No such thing’?]
[Chuxia: I never swore on my chest.]
‘That never happened, don’t talk nonsense.
Back then, I just said it, and you just heard it; there was no guarantee involved.’
[Eylla: …Alright, impressive.
I wanted to ask you, how was it?]
[Chuxia: Very comfortable, an absolutely wonderful experience.]
Xia Chu typed out this sentence with righteous confidence, a small sense of superiority swelling in her heart.
She recalled that her best friend still didn’t have a girlfriend, nor had she experienced the ‘sesese’ lifestyle.
‘I’m ahead!’
However, her best friend’s next message plunged her into deep thought.
[Eylla: Oh really? But when I asked Bai Jingjing, her reply was quite calm, almost as if she hadn’t fully enjoyed herself.]
[Chuxia: …What?]
[Eylla: Nothing, just that kind of feeling, I suppose.
Of course, it could just be my imagination; after all, I don’t even have a girlfriend, so I wouldn’t truly understand.]
****
Bai Jingjing finished preparing the noodles and brought them in, only to find Xia Chu puffing out her cheeks, glaring indignantly at her.
“What’s wrong?” the young girl asked, puzzled.
“Are you hungry?”
“No, it’s not that.”
Xia Chu took the bowl and began eating with gusto, slurping away.
‘How could you tell someone about… our feelings?’ she fumed inwardly.
‘Even if you did, why couldn’t you have phrased it more positively?’
Xia Chu distinctly remembered how, during a previous game, Bai Jingjing had managed to praise a teammate whose stats were rock-bottom, with a mere 0.78 rating, by saying they were “very useful, their contribution not fully reflected by data, an indispensable pillar of the team.”
‘With such high emotional intelligence when flattering teammates in-game, why did she have to speak the plain truth when it came to ‘sesese’?’
‘No, ‘plain truth’ my foot! I just wasn’t performing at my best that day!’
Xia Chu hurried to finish her noodles, knowing she would need her strength later.
After finishing their game, making a late-night snack, and tidying the table, it was almost time for bed.
“Xia Chu-jie, it’s time for bed,” Bai Jingjing said with a soft yawn.
“It’s getting late.”
Xia Chu closed her laptop and let out a cold hmph.
“Indeed, it’s time to sleep.
After sleeping, we should go to bed early.”
Bai Jingjing nodded instinctively, but a few seconds later, she slowly processed the words and looked bewildered.
“Xia Chu-jie, what did you just say?”
She thought she had misheard.
“I said, hurry up and sleep, so we can sleep properly afterwards,” Xia Chu replied, already unbuttoning her clothes, preparing for a shower.
Bai Jingjing remained somewhat bewildered.
‘Sleeping *after* sleeping? What was she supposed to be sleeping *before* sleeping then?’
‘Me?’
It wasn’t until they returned to their room and climbed into bed that Bai Jingjing was surprised to realize it truly was her.
Earlier that afternoon, when Bai Jingjing had hinted at ‘sesese’ to Xia Chu, Xia Chu hadn’t understood.
Now, with Xia Chu hinting at it to her, she still hadn’t understood.
Nevertheless, the two young girls embraced each other.
Bai Jingjing, following their usual ‘tactic,’ first initiated a ‘reunion’ (TL Note: A playful euphemism for foreplay, implying coming together), then entwined herself, letting the ‘little tiger’ (TL Note: A playful euphemism for a specific intimate body part, often female genitalia) gently bite…
Only to be ‘bitten back’ by Xia Chu.
“Hm?”
Bai Jingjing nuzzled her head, sensing something amiss.
Tonight, Xia Chu-jie seemed unusually aggressive.
“We played games all afternoon and evening,” Xia Chu whispered.
“Do you remember my favorite way to play?”
Bai Jingjing, of course, remembered.
Xia Chu’s preferred strategy was a ‘reverse sweep’ (TL Note: A gaming term for turning the tide of battle, often by ambushing or counter-attacking).
This involved suddenly pulling out to turn defense into offense, launching a preemptive strike just as opponents were gathering and preparing to attack.
Most importantly, many of Xia Chu’s ‘reverse sweeps’ were ‘dry pulls’ (TL Note: A gaming term for executing a maneuver without the aid of special items or abilities), without relying on items.
“I think ‘dry pulls’ aren’t always the best,” Bai Jingjing offered sincerely.
“At least use some items.”
‘Like flashbangs or something.’
“No need,” Xia Chu hummed.
“At least not today.”
‘Dry pulls break everything!’
‘Anyway, if the ‘little tiger’ starts crying from all the pulling, we’ll just stop, right?’
“Alright then, just… take it easy?”
‘Take it easy? And let you remain unsatisfied?’
Recalling her best friend’s words from earlier, Xia Chu felt a surge of power course through her body.
Embodying the state she was in during the afternoon’s gaming session, her ‘little tiger’ became incredibly fierce for a time.
Sometimes, it was one deliberate, powerful stroke after another, like a Desert Eagle.
At other times, it was precise and delicate, like a StatTrak M4A1.
Then it would be swift as the wind, a rapid suppression, like a roaring M4A4.
And sometimes, it unleashed a torrent of fire as if throwing a tantrum, like a wild AK.
The ‘big sister’ authority she couldn’t reclaim in the game, she would now take back here!
“Mmh… mmh~”
This time, it was Bai Jingjing’s ‘little tiger’ that cried first.
