Chapter 47: Preparing for a Move

After Rainbow logged out, I also closed the Legend of League client.

Having already played seven games today, and with Rainbow gone, I didn’t feel like queuing for solo rank anymore.

‘I could avoid Rainbow and queue up, but… that wouldn’t mean much.’

If my sole goal were to reach 2000 LP, there would be no need to face off against Rainbow and Yoon-gi’s declared duo sniping.

They were active professional players with busy schedules, and avoiding their limited solo rank time would have been easy.

However, I wasn’t simply aiming to reach 2000 LP.

In Legend of League, I intended to defeat the true top-tier players, earning universal recognition for my accomplishments.

So that no one could dare dismiss my efforts with baseless remarks like I had climbed in an empty house.

Decisively and destructively.

That was how I intended to end my journey as Prisoner.

‘That’s enough for today.’

That’s why I decided to align every step of my journey to 2000 LP with Rainbow.

Rainbow and Yoon-gi.

If someone asked who the best mid and jungle duo in the world was, their names would undoubtedly be among the first mentioned.

Rainbow, in particular, carried the title of the greatest mid-laner of all time, with the accolade of being a two-time Red Cup champion.

No one would dare to call my journey a fluke.

I would make sure of it—through overwhelming force and indisputable dominance.

And that would be the ultimate way to end my legacy as Prisoner.

‘That’s enough for today.’

From now on, my journey to 2000 LP would revolve around Rainbow and Yoon-gi.

These two, who were widely recognized as the best mid and jungle duo in the world.

Rainbow, with his two Red Cup championships, and the title of the greatest mid-laner in history, stood as the pinnacle of professional play.

If anyone dared to claim that I had climbed ranks in an “empty house,” I would ensure they had no ground to stand on.

Overwhelmingly. Destructively.

That was how I intended to conclude my legacy as Prisoner.

‘That’s enough for today.’

This is why I decided to align my entire journey to 2000 LP with Rainbow and Yoon-gi.

Rainbow and Yoon-gi.

If someone asked who the best mid-laner and jungler in the world were, their names would undoubtedly be at the top of the list.

Rainbow, in particular, had solidified his status as one of the greatest mid-laners of all time, boasting two Red Cup championships and the title of the best in history.

No one would dare utter baseless claims against me.

I would make sure of it through overwhelming force and destructive dominance.

That was how I would etch my name into history as Prisoner.

‘That’s enough for today.’

The journey ahead to 2000 LP would revolve entirely around facing Rainbow and Yoon-gi.

The two players, hailed as the pinnacle of mid-jungle duos worldwide, were my ultimate goal.

And with Rainbow’s illustrious career, including two Red Cup championships, his name would always be mentioned as the greatest mid-laner in history.

It was a challenge I couldn’t ignore. My end as Prisoner would be forged in fire against the best.

‘That’s enough for today.’

From this point forward, I decided to align my entire journey to 2000 LP with Rainbow and Yoon-gi.

Rainbow and Yoon-gi.

If someone were to ask who the best mid and jungle duo in the world were, their names would undoubtedly be among the first mentioned.

Rainbow, in particular, was a legendary pro player who had won the Red Cup twice and earned the title of the greatest mid-laner in history.

I would make sure no one could dismiss my accomplishments with baseless claims.

Overwhelmingly. Destructively.

That was how I intended to conclude my legacy as Prisoner.

The memory of that decision lingered as I reflected on where life had taken me.

Even then, my parents’ unwavering trust in my choices had caught me off guard.

“…Are you sure about this?”

“It’s fine. This place isn’t far from Dad’s office either. The commute will be easier. It’s even closer than where we lived before.”

“Really?”

“Well, that’s good to hear.”

The apartment complex was unlike anything I’d seen before.

Beyond the usual amenities like convenience stores, gyms, saunas, and cafeterias, it also boasted a swimming pool and a movie theater.

There were even rumors of a golf course on-site. It made me question whether this was truly a typical apartment within the bounds of common sense.

“This is the place.”

My mother walked confidently, card key in hand. She must have received it in advance.

The guards stationed throughout the property didn’t stop us. It seemed they either recognized her or had been informed of our arrival beforehand.

It was a peculiar scene.

We took the elevator to the very top floor—the penthouse.

When I stepped out and saw the expansive view of the Han River through the hallway windows, I stood there, momentarily dazed, before snapping back to my senses.

“Mom.”

“Yes? What is it?”

“Are we rich?”

“Well… we’re not poor, are we?”

People who live in places like this aren’t usually just “not poor,” right?

I always knew our family was comfortable financially.

But I never truly understood the extent of it.

Then again, I’d never been particularly curious before.

‘Are we wealthier than I thought?’

For some reason, the idea of asking my dad to create a professional gaming team for me suddenly popped into my head.

‘…That’s a bit much, isn’t it?’

I quickly shook my head.

Running a team wasn’t something you could do with pocket change. No matter how wealthy our family was, asking for something like that was absurd.

“Your room is on the second floor over there. Want to take a look? If you don’t like it, we can switch things around. But not the glass-walled room—that’s already been claimed. Yuri insisted it had to be her room. She wouldn’t let anyone else take it.”

“Got it.”

It seemed my younger sibling had arrived earlier than me and claimed her room first.

Since there were still plenty of rooms left, I didn’t feel particularly disappointed.

I followed my mother up the stairs to where my room was located.

“This is it.”

The room was completely empty.

Either no one had lived here before, or the previous occupants had already moved everything out.

“How is it?”

“It’s nice.”

The room was spacious, and without any furniture, it felt a bit barren. Still, it was a room I was more than satisfied with.

It even had its own private bathroom, and the view from the balcony window was stunning.

‘Hmm.’

Of course, instead of appreciating the open and airy view, all I could think about was installing blackout blinds.

‘Because I hate sunlight.’

Knowing my mother, she’d be horrified if I mentioned that, so I kept the thought to myself.

‘A new room…’

My mind wandered as I began to think about where to place my desk and how many monitors I would need.

‘This is where it all starts again.’

The beginning of something new was just around the corner.
