Afterword for Release

Chapter 48 Part 2512 words5 min read

Before I realized it, it’s already been almost two years since I came to BLB.

During that time, I’ve also presented everyone with a few clumsy works.

Thinking about it now, I can’t help but feel a vague sense of emotion.

This is already my third time putting a book on release, and the third time writing a release afterword.

When I became aware of that, I felt a strange sense of accomplishment.

Even someone like me was able to do this.

To take what I imagine in my heart, the surging emotions, and use the tip of a pen to depict the world inside me.

Even though I was disliked by my Chinese teacher starting in high school. (laughs)

Just like Little Shrine Maiden and Little Witch, this book was also an idea born during the same period.

Back in the time before I even started writing Little Shrine Maiden, there were already the shadows of three books in my mind.

Thinking back, my mind was really active back then.

Coming up with ideas is always easy.

Turning those ideas into writing is a completely different matter.

It took me a whole year just to barely write part of it.

Out of the three ideas, only Little Shrine Maiden was successfully completed in full.

Little Witch was put on hold due to personal health reasons.

However, that one will also be completed in the future, because I no longer have any other ideas.

According to my original plan, this book was meant to be my last one.

I originally planned to write only three first-person novels.

After finishing these three first-person works, that would be enough, and I probably wouldn’t pick up the pen again.

I’ve gone on a bit too much about side matters.

So let me briefly introduce this book.

I believe many readers have already noticed it.

I actually—have never played a galgame at all.

I had heard of them, of course.

But I’ve never truly played one myself.

So my knowledge in this area is basically blank.

Even so, I still went ahead and wrote it.

During my free time, I also looked up materials and information, trying to make some effort in that regard.

As for why I chose galgame as the medium, it was simply because I wanted to better write the story of Higashi Hazuki and Ichijō Riku.

I’m someone who enjoys experiencing emotions and expressing them.

So compared to intricate, complex plots, I prefer seeing emotions gradually build step by step.

Until finally, it reaches a point where everyone can feel the sincere affection between the two characters.

I lean more toward writing everyday life.

After all, I’m someone who experiences the beauty of life.

So I also want the characters I write to be able to feel that same sensation.

At the very least—

Having said all this, it should be about enough.

Seven chapters will be released at midnight.

Each chapter is about three thousand words.

I hope you’ll enjoy them.
