“Is that so?” Xi Xue’s voice deepened slightly.
“Yes, as long as you are willing to let me go, I will definitely keep your secret and serve you regularly, resolving your dietary concerns,” Lan Ruobing replied earnestly.
“Heh.”
“Ultimately, do you still wish to leave me? Are you truly that afraid of me, Ruobing?”
Xi Xue offered a desolate smile, her eyes fixed intently on Ruobing.
Her gaze was sharp, as if she desperately yearned to see through her and hear her true thoughts.
“No, you’ve misunderstood. Didn’t I say I would serve you regularly? I won’t leave you, please don’t worry.”
Lan Ruobing deftly evaded the core of the question, meeting Xi Xue’s piercing gaze with a shiver of dread.
The Bloodkin lady’s eyes were too intense, making her heart pound wildly.
Yet, she had to stand firm, or all would be lost.
Ruobing’s unwavering gaze caused Xi Xue to pause, her eyes dropping slightly.
She understood Ruobing’s psychology: the first sentence was vague, seeming to deny both her questions, but the second only addressed the first, confirming she wouldn’t leave, yet saying nothing about fear.
Smiling forlornly, Xi Xue did not press further.
Instead, she reached out, cupped Ruobing’s face, and gently wiped away a tear from the corner of her eye.
With a profound tone, she remarked, “You play the part so well; you almost made my heart ache.”
Her voice held a hint of sadness.
Lan Ruobing’s eyes widened.
Xi Xue had seen through her ploy!
Earlier, to apologize, she had deliberately pinched her leg, feigning self-harm to shed tears and appear remorseful and frightened.
She had thought this two-pronged approach would manipulate Xi Xue, but it seemed her intentions had been clear all along.
Suddenly, Lan Ruobing’s heart sank.
A chill ran down her spine, and her breath hitched.
Thinking back, Xi Xue’s remark about her heart aching was likely a double entendre, carrying a deeper meaning.
It wasn’t that her acting was so superb it had fooled Xi Xue into pity.
Rather, it was that she, Lan Ruobing, had been feigning compliance with Xi Xue to survive, causing Xi Xue deep sorrow.
As this realization dawned, her heart began to thump, accelerating its frantic beat.
The consequences of hurting the vampire lady were something she likely couldn’t fathom, much less bear.
Initially, with her agreeable attitude, the value of her Divine Dragon blood, and the allure of her body, Xi Xue might not have harmed her.
But now, things were uncertain.
She didn’t truly understand Xi Xue’s nature as a Bloodkin.
If Xi Xue genuinely became enraged, Lan Ruobing feared she might never see the light of day again.
Imprisonment play, raising a blood s*ave, training her to be a mindless plaything… these were all scenarios she couldn’t endure.
The thought was terrifying.
Her heart pounded faster and faster, slamming against her chest.
Fine beads of sweat proliferated, breaking out in a rush, and her entire body felt both burning hot and chillingly cold.
“Ruobing!” Xi Xue cupped her face again, her delicate, pale fingers wiping away the sweat from her forehead.
She spoke gently, “Don’t be afraid, I won’t hurt you.”
Lan Ruobing snapped back to reality, her wide, cerulean eyes gazing at Xi Xue with fear and grievance.
Shimmering tears sparkled within the blue depths, radiant and beautiful.
Her lips trembled, her dainty nose quivered slightly.
Before she could utter a word, it was clear she wanted to say, ‘I’m sorry, I didn’t mean to.’
“Shh,” Xi Xue whispered, pressing her index finger against Ruobing’s crimson lips, no longer wiping away her tears.
Ruobing’s vulnerable appearance ignited a powerful protective instinct within her.
She yearned to give Ruobing a warm embrace, then kiss her tenderly, whispering, ‘Don’t be scared, it’s alright, I love you…’
Yet, she understood even more clearly that Ruobing was merely afraid—afraid of the unknown her, the vampiric her.
This wasn’t right; this wasn’t the outcome she desired.
She wanted more; she wanted all of Ruobing.
“Shh… Now, listen to me obediently, alright?” Xi Xue’s voice was as gentle as a breeze.
“Mmm… mm-hmm…” Lan Ruobing nodded docilely, her voice soft and plaintive, as if deeply wronged.
Having received her consent, Xi Xue’s index finger, still pressed against Ruobing’s red lips, slowly moved.
It traced past her delicate chin, descending to her soft, jade-like neck.
As her finger moved, Xi Xue began her narration.
“Ruobing, do you know, from the moment I saw your eyes, my heart felt a profound stir.”
“I was drawn to you, wanting to get closer, desperately, irresistibly.”
“That ocean brimming with brilliant blue light, so beautiful and captivating, seemed capable of encompassing my entire being.”
“I instantly forgot my original purpose in seeking you.”
“I was supposed to drink blood, to make up for the flaw of my long, pointed fangs, of having been starved of fresh life since childhood.”
“But you were too wonderful; you made me yearn to be near you.”
“Both your personality and your body deeply attracted me, making me utterly unable to extricate myself.”
“You didn’t just perfectly match my deepest desires, you struck my heart.”
“So, my initial hunt transformed into courtship.”
“I wanted to capture you, not merely satisfy my carnal desires.”
“I proceeded cautiously, constantly trying to tease you, silently planning everything, from the restaurant to the clothing store, from the snack streets to the villa…”
“I had intended to slowly devour you, bit by bit.”
“The unfortunate thing is, you saw through my lies too soon. You raged, you were furious, you wanted to leave me, no matter the cost.”
“We were already at the villa, we had showered together, we were soaking in the bath on the bath bed, we had kissed, we were almost sleeping together, yet you pushed me away.”
“Do you know how angry I was then?”
“My heart was filled with joy as I planned for us to slowly fall in love, to get to know each other, and only then would I reveal my truth as a Bloodkin.”
“But you wanted to leave me, so resolutely.”
“Do you know how scared I was?”
“I was truly terrified, because you are the first, and perhaps the only, person who could make me this crazy, who could make me abandon my inner demons and want to genuinely pursue someone.”
‘You cannot leave, you must stay with me, you can only be with me.’
‘Be friends? Is that even possible! I don’t like Lan Nuo, but I like you. You yourself said you aren’t Lan Nuo.’
‘You are no longer him; you are completely different from your former self, not just in gender, but in personality.’
‘Perhaps you haven’t even noticed it yourself, but despite similar thoughts and actions, your demeanor, your character, has quietly changed, acquiring charming traits, becoming the perfect vulnerable submissive that flawlessly caters to my tastes!’
‘You truly, in every aspect, make me so incredibly fond of you, so eager, making me yearn to hold you…’
Then, to ravage her madly.
Xi Xue did not utter the latter half of the sentence, knowing it would terrify Ruobing.
Her voice abruptly ceased.
It wasn’t just fear of scaring Ruobing further; her finger had slid down Ruobing’s neck to an awkward, yet stimulating, position.
Gliding past the beautiful butterfly collarbones, Xi Xue’s index finger rested beside the deep cleavage.
Two large, white mounds lay quietly, one on each side.
Their raised forms were soft and substantial, rising and falling evenly and slowly.
Lan Ruobing was tense, and Xi Xue was tense; their heavy, slow breaths were audible to each other.
Two large, white mounds pressed closely together, the gradually deepening chasm between them beckoning.
It seemed to summon her index finger, inviting it to slide in and discover what it felt like…
