The Boring Weekend

Chapter 48 • 940 words • 8 min read

Day fifteen of the transformation, and the weekend had arrived once again.

Like the previous week, nothing unusual had happened during the days when Chen Si Yi went to school. After all, how much could happen when confined at home? Even Serena, who had been watching over me, was so bored that she spent the entire day lying on the couch, yawning.

“It’s so boring, Lin Yan. Let’s play a guessing game!”

On Thursday afternoon, the warm sunlight filtered through the curtains, casting a soft glow on the living room floor. Serena suddenly sat up from the couch, her eyes sparkling with a new idea. “What about a challenging question?”

“Sure, what do you have in mind?”

I agreed without hesitation, driven by my own boredom.

“Hmm, a really difficult one!”

Serena stepped closer, her bare feet touching the floor, and tilted her head, a playful smirk on her face. “Guess what kind of demon I am?”

“A succubus.”

My answer was calm and certain, and Serena’s expression shifted, her eyes widening in surprise. “How did you know that, Lin Yan?”

Her question hung in the air, but my expression remained unchanged, showing no joy or excitement at guessing correctly. I gently moved her head aside to continue watching TV.

Sigh, being cooped up at home every day is truly tedious. I found myself engaged in such a silly guessing game with Serena. Is she not a succubus, then? Could she be a demon girl?

“Serena, can you get the door?”

As I mused, the doorbell rang. Serena, who had been stretching lazily on the couch, reluctantly got up at Chen Si Yi’s request.

“Hey everyone, it’s been a while! I’m back to visit!”

It seemed that Park Yeon, who had enjoyed herself the previous week, had asked to come over again this weekend. As one of Chen Si Yi’s closest friends, my soft-hearted sister couldn’t refuse, so once again, I had to pretend to be the obedient Lin Ruoxi.

Sigh~ Women are truly troublesome.

“Awww, Lin Ruoxi is as cute as ever, like a doll! I just want to pinch her!”

Not again, Park Yeon, you’re already pinching my face!

After exchanging greetings with Chen Si Yi, who was mopping the floor, Park Yeon, dressed in her usual punk style, approached me. Without waiting for my response, she casually draped her arm around my shoulder and began to gently squeeze my cheeks.

“Cough, cough…”

Chen Si Yi cleared her throat, “Take it easy, Park Yeon. My little sister is shy, you know.”

“Sure, sure, I know!”

Park Yeon pouted, her fingers lingering on my cheeks for a few more moments before reluctantly releasing my shoulder. She crossed her arms and complained, “Chen Si Yi is so overprotective. We’re practically best friends now. Even if I feel you up, you wouldn’t mind, right?”

Not if you actually do that, I’ll definitely call the cops for molesting a minor!

And who said we’re best friends? This is only our second meeting, and it barely qualifies as a passing acquaintance.

As I watched Park Yeon lick her lips and cast a playful, almost predatory glance at me, I instinctively crossed my legs and protected my chest with my hands. There was something unsettling about Park Yeon, a dangerous aura that made me uncomfortable.

Ten minutes later, Chen Si Yi finally joined us on the couch, having finished cleaning the living room. Meanwhile, Serena, who had been sent to the kitchen, returned with a tray of cookies and drinks.

“Great, now that everyone’s here, let’s start the game!”

Park Yeon beamed with excitement, pulling out a small blue plastic box from her jeans pocket that resembled a poker deck.

I felt a jolt of anticipation, hoping it was a deck for a game of bridge, which would be a welcome change from being cooped up at home for so long!

“Are we playing a three-player bridge, or will the loser take turns?”

I asked eagerly, but Park Yeon looked at me with confusion.

Oh no, I realized my mistake. I’m supposed to be a little girl, not someone who knows about bridge!

I quickly closed my mouth, placing my hands neatly on my lap, trying to resume my role as the obedient Lin Ruoxi.

Park Yeon, noticing my nervous expression, raised an eyebrow and waved the box in front of my eyes. “Sorry, Lin Ruoxi, but today we’re not playing bridge. We’re playing… King’s Game!”

King’s Game?

I stared at the black box, my eyes widening as I read the faintly printed words “King’s Game.”

King’s Game, by its very nature, gives the king absolute power, forcing players to obey their commands without question. This unconditional obedience is what makes King’s Game so captivating, but it also means the rules can be taken to extremes, depending on the whims of the person who draws the king card.

If the person who becomes the king has a twisted mind, this game could…

“It’s okay!”

Park Yeon waved her hand dismissively, “We’re all girls here, so even if we have to kiss, it’s no big deal, right?”

What kind of twisted logic is that? Even if it’s just two girls kissing, it’s still a very intimate scene!

And although I may look like an innocent little girl, my heart is that of a true man!

No, no, no.

I couldn’t help but imagine the awkwardness of accidentally drawing a “kiss” card and having to kiss Chen Si Yi. Sweat beaded on my forehead at the thought.

This game is absolutely off-limits!
