A sleek black sedan, with an elegant exterior and a minimalist interior, navigated the congested asphalt road. In the passenger seat sat a young woman with brown hair, her golden eyes intently fixed ahead, as if searching for something.
“Butler, is there another direct route to the Chen family estate from here?”
The middle-aged driver shifted his gaze, pointing to an intersection ahead.
“That’s the one, but it’s the weekend. If we take that road, we’ll be stuck in traffic for at least half an hour.”
“Can we take a detour?”
“We can, but it’s a bit of a long way around. It might add an hour to the trip.”
Qin Ruoxue, still in the passenger seat, pondered for a moment, finding herself at a loss. The direct route was short but heavily congested, while a detour would consume precious time. Every passing second now was crucial to Lin Yi’s safety.
“Turn there!”
Facing the young lady’s demand, the butler did not hesitate. With a flawless drift, the black sedan smoothly pulled onto the designated road.
More and more cars swarmed around them, and soon Qin Ruoxue’s vehicle was trapped in the middle. Watching the snail-paced traffic, Qin Ruoxue grew increasingly anxious, yet she could only sit helplessly.
She took out her phone and called Lin Yi again, but this time, his phone was directly switched off. Calling Chen Sishi yielded no answer either.
Qin Ruoxue watched as time ticked by, growing as frantic as an ant on a hot pan.

On the other side, Chen Sishi was in a similar state to Qin Ruoxue, also trapped in traffic. Her initial plan was to resolve things quickly and return home as fast as possible, but she hadn’t anticipated getting caught halfway.
As she stewed in frustration, Lin Yi suddenly embraced her from the side. A flustered Chen Sishi froze instantly, her heart thrumming wildly like a trapped deer. She clutched her chest, her face flushing crimson.
“Bai… Bai Bai, what kind of medicine did you give Lin Yi?”
Still gazing out the window at the scenery, Bai Zhiyue turned her head in confusion. Her light brown eyes reflected the sight of the two embracing. Bai Zhiyue looked bewildered, even a little surprised.
“Sishi, did you… take him down?”
Chen Sishi was held so tightly by Lin Yi that she could barely breathe. She squirmed slightly, and after a moment, repeated her question.
Bai Zhiyue, now fully aware, answered Chen Sishi’s question earnestly.
“I only put some sedative in that drink, something to make him pass out. He’s probably dreaming and mistook you for a body pillow…”
Chen Sishi remained silent, closing her eyes in pure enjoyment. As she savored the sensation of Lin Yi’s embrace, she felt as though she was melting into his arms.
All the previous irritation and anxiety had vanished, replaced by a sweet bliss from this single hug. In this moment, Chen Sishi wished only to remain forever immersed in his embrace, never wanting to be parted from Lin Yi.
*Buzz, buzz.*
The phone vibrated again. Chen Sishi initially thought it was Qin Ruoxue or Li Yan calling. Her finger paused just as it was about to press the reject button.
The screen displayed the words “Dad.” Chen Sishi instinctively flinched. This call struck her like a heavy hammer, pounding fiercely at her heart.
–Hello, Dad, is something wrong?
The voice on the other end of the line carried a clear hint of anger. She couldn’t fathom what had made him so furious.
–I… I’m on my way home…
–Send me your location in a moment. Pull over and don’t move.
–Dad…
Chen Sishi wanted to say more, but Chen Lujun on the other end clearly gave her no chance, hanging up before she could finish.
“Sishi… are you alright?”
The silver-haired young woman lowered her head, idly twirling a sharp small knife in her hand.
Seeing Chen Sishi’s disheartened expression, Bai Zhiyue also felt a pang of unease. She had overheard parts of their conversation and knew their plan had failed.
After a long silence, Chen Sishi curved her lips into an eerie smile, her eyes devoid of any spark.
“It’s alright, Bai Bai. I still have a way.”
As she spoke, her gaze fell upon the driver in front.
“Mr. Driver, you wouldn’t want to lose your life, would you?”
The sharp knife rested easily against the middle-aged man’s neck, beads of cold sweat forming on his forehead. He turned his head, forcing a stiff smile, and then asked.
“Please, young lady, just tell me what to do.”
“Turn around. We’re not going home. Head to the suburbs.”
“Yes…”
The sedan squeezed its way out of the cluster of cars, laboriously turning around. Fortunately, the traffic on the other road was much lighter, allowing them to proceed for a while.

The black motorcycle sped along the roadside, its velocity unhindered by the narrow asphalt. Lin Yiting, riding the bike, kept one eye on the road ahead and the other on the red dot on her phone.
She was now incredibly close to Lin Yi’s location, but just as she was about to reach it, the red dot suddenly veered. Lin Yiting looked up in confusion, only to see a plain sedan turning onto the opposite side of the road.
A smirk played on Lin Yiting’s lips; she had finally found them. Weaving through the gaps between cars, the black motorcycle accelerated once more. With a graceful drift, Lin Yiting blocked the middle of the road.
The driver slammed on the brakes, catching the occupants completely off guard. The immense inertia sent Bai Zhiyue’s face crashing into the seatback, and Chen Sishi fared no better. She had to hold onto Lin Yi tightly to prevent him from being thrown forward.
Once the two young women recovered, they simultaneously looked towards the person in front. Lin Yiting was dressed entirely in black today: a plain black short-sleeved top with black sun-protective sleeves. Her lower half was clad in cargo pants, their numerous pockets stuffed full, though with what, it was impossible to tell.
“The game ends here. Now, will you return my brother to me?”
Lin Yiting’s eyes narrowed slightly. One hand pressed against a cargo pocket, while the other tapped on the car window.
Chen Sishi stared incredulously at the older girl outside the window, bewildered as to how Lin Yiting had pinpointed their location so precisely.
Chen Sishi’s mind reeled with questions, her gaze slowly filling with murderous intent as she looked at Lin Yiting.
She and Bai Zhiyue exchanged a glance. Bai Zhiyue nodded knowingly, producing a needle filled with medication. After more than a decade together, they understood each other’s thoughts with a single look.
The car door opened, and the two uniquely beautiful young women stepped out. Chen Sishi, in particular, had red-rimmed eyes, looking as if she were about to burst into tears.
“Sister, I’m sorry…”
Seeing them emerge from the car, Lin Yiting took a wary step back, her hand never leaving her pocket. She refused to believe that someone capable of abducting her brother could appear so innocent.
“Excuses are useless. My brother is in your car, isn’t he? Let him go, and I won’t make things difficult for you.”
Outwardly, Lin Yiting softened her tone, but inwardly, she remained vigilant, curious to see what trick Chen Sishi would attempt next.
“Yes, he’s in our car, but Lin Yi is asleep, and we can’t move him.”
Lin Yiting frowned slightly, cautiously approaching the car door. Only after she fully saw the unconscious Lin Yi did she turn to the two young women, questioning them with a cold voice.
“What did you give him?”
“Just a sedative to make him fall asleep. He should wake up by tomorrow morning.”
“I hope you’re telling the truth.”
With that, Lin Yiting leaned into the car. At that very moment, the whistle of a sharp object cutting through the air rapidly approached. Lin Yiting, who had anticipated this, expertly drew the item from her waist.
*Clang!* The sharp knife was knocked away by a dark object, and the dark muzzle of a gun pointed directly at Chen Sishi’s head.
This gun was issued by the company, specifically for guarding valuable assets. Since she had left in a hurry today, Lin Yiting hadn’t returned it to the company.
Upon seeing the weapon, Chen Sishi’s actions froze. Staring at the chilling aura of the weapon in Lin Yiting’s hand, she was momentarily speechless, unsure how to react.
