The Elf’s Fury

Chapter 481,441 words13 min read

Rosa’s residence was a secluded villa, far removed from the bustling student dormitories.

Nestled close to a small grove and a serene lake, it was a dwelling typically reserved for students with unique circumstances.

As one of the few senior combat students still residing on campus, Senior Sister Rosa enjoyed a level of treatment widely acknowledged by school staff as exceptionally favorable.

Not only had she been granted a private two-story villa, but the sheer volume of subsidies and academic credits she received was staggering.

This lavish arrangement fueled persistent rumors that she was the illegitimate daughter of some influential figure, unable to return home.

Villy had, in fact, once subscribed to this very belief, until Senior Sister, with a wry smile, finally elucidated the true reason behind her unusual living situation.

–The infamous derivative species, the Elf (TL Note: A designation for a dangerous, unintelligent supernatural being in this world, distinct from traditional fantasy elves.).

These were beings utterly antithetical to human existence—creatures devoid of intellect, empathy, and even the fundamental will to survive.

During the Great Migration, countless human lives had already been lost to their destructive presence.

Their notoriety was well-earned.

When Rosa brought such an anomaly back to the city, it ignited a furious debate.

The factions advocating for extermination clashed relentlessly with those pushing for containment, each vociferously defending their stance.

Some veteran warriors, hardened by past conflicts, even lost their tempers entirely, resorting to physical altercations during meetings.

Fortunately, Rosa swiftly presented compelling evidence that Tina retained a shred of humanity, thereby proving her harmlessness.

This breakthrough allowed Rosa to keep Tina by her side, albeit in the capacity of a supervisor.

This very villa, in fact, served as a quarantine zone the school had established for Rosa, bowing to the combined pressure from the Supervision Bureau and the presence of an Elf.

A pair of elite operatives, dispatched by the Supervision Bureau, patrolled its vicinity year-round, always prepared to intervene should any incident arise.

It was noteworthy that, after a brief but intense period of surveillance, these very supervisors confidently vouched for Tina’s harmless nature.

However, due to the higher-ups’ ingrained caution—a “better safe than sorry” mentality—their requests for reassignment were denied.

Consequently, they had effectively transitioned into leisurely gentlemen, spending their days idly roaming the school grounds.

‘So, this is essentially her salary for managing an Elf, then?’

Lost in her rather impolite thoughts, Villy followed the map to the lake’s edge.

Before the villa, a short distance away, two figures stood locked in a silent confrontation.

As she approached, she recognized Tina, and beside her, a blue-haired little girl who appeared as if she had stepped directly from the screen of a science fiction film.

“Tina… Senior Sister, may I ask who this is?”

Villy uttered the honorific “Senior Sister” with considerable awkwardness.

In her mind, Tina belonged to the same mentally immature cohort as Xiu Lan; addressing Tina as “Senior Sister” felt as though Xiu Lan had, by association, inexplicably gained an entire generation in seniority.

“She’s an enemy. I’m supervising her to ensure she doesn’t cause trouble.”

Without diverting her intense gaze from the blue-haired loli before her, Tina merely sniffed the air.

Only upon catching the scent of a familiar presence did she resume speaking:

“Are you here for Rosa? What a pity.

She claims she’s discussing something important and won’t let me inside.

You’ll have to wait out here with me, wait…?”

Mid-sentence, a sudden realization seemed to strike Tina.

Abruptly abandoning her staring contest, she whirled around, grasped Villy’s hand, and, to the bewildered expression of the black-haired girl, began pulling her resolutely towards the villa.

“If that’s the case, and you have something to discuss with Rosa, then if I go in with you, perhaps I can finally kick that man out!

Hmph hmph, just you wait, Rosa, I’m coming to rescue you from this hell right away, hahahaha!”

By the end of her declaration, she was practically babbling.

‘What in the world is going on?’

Villy felt her head spinning.

Based on the information Tina had just unwittingly divulged, Senior Sister Rosa was currently engaged in a conversation with a man, having ejected Tina to prevent any disruptions.

The blue-haired girl, presumably the man’s child, had been left outside, likely for Tina to look after.

‘So…’

‘Should I really stop Tina from interfering with Senior Sister Rosa?’

While the thought had certainly crossed her mind, Villy was acutely aware of her own powerlessness in the situation.

The power of an Elf was far beyond what a mere fledgling blood-craver, not even a true Bloodkin, could hope to contend with.

Resigned, Villy decided to simply go with the flow and let events unfold.

After all, the blame wouldn’t fall on her.

“Please wait a moment.”

Tina’s frantic pace abruptly halted, not due to any sudden surge of reason on her part, but because…

Villy stared in astonishment at the blue-haired loli trailing behind them.

It was she who had seized Tina’s other hand, her diminutive frame seemingly imbued with immense strength, rendering the Elf utterly unable to advance another step.

“Chongyun is discussing important matters with Rosa.

Your entry now would only disrupt them.”

‘This is going to be a disaster.’

Having spent a considerable amount of time with Xiu Lan, Villy believed she had gained some insight into the temperaments of children.

Under normal circumstances, it would now be Tina’s turn to erupt.

And erupt she did.

Tina’s lips curved into a disturbingly wide grin.

Releasing Villy’s hand, she clenched her palm into a fist and, amidst Villy’s startled gasp, unleashed a punch.

“Boom!”

The air shrieked with a violent crack.

Aier calmly swept back the strands of hair disheveled by the punch’s impact, her expression remaining serene.

Villy, squinting for a closer look, discerned a shimmering blue barrier that had materialized before Aier.

This translucent screen, barely visible, was precisely what repelled Tina’s furious assault.

“Aaaahhhhhhh!”

Aier’s utterly unharmed and composed demeanor acted as fuel to the fire, completely igniting the already volatile temper of the mentally unstable Elf.

Like a predator, Tina’s pupils abruptly constricted.

She then raised her right hand high, her smile twisting into a manic grimace, and began relentlessly pounding the shimmering barrier with one fist after another.

Each blow resonated with a cataclysmic force.

“Crack, crack, crack, crack…”

With a ceaseless chorus of fracturing sounds, a dense web of cracks began to spread across the luminous barrier, transforming it into what appeared to be a pane of glass on the verge of shattering.

Villy, witnessing the scene, felt her heart pound with trepidation, dreading the possibility that the blue-haired loli might be instantly splattered with blood.

To her immense relief, however, Tina consistently failed to breach that final, resilient layer of defense.

Convinced that this couldn’t be allowed to persist, Villy began to move forward, calling out as she went, hoping to leverage Rosa’s name to temper Tina’s escalating fury:

“Senior Sister Tina, please stop at once!

She’s Senior Sister Rosa’s guest; you’ll only cause her trouble…”

“Don’t come any closer.”

Aier’s sharp reprimand cut short Villy’s attempt to intervene.

Observing the black-haired girl’s puzzled expression, Aier calmly explained:

“This is the true nature of what they call an Elf.

Any intelligence they display is merely a deceptive facade, a cunning trick used for predation.”

“I’m unsure how Rosa managed to preserve her persona, but at this moment, her animosity towards me has reached a critical threshold.

I strongly advise you to distance yourself from us immediately, or you risk being caught in the ensuing chaos.”

“But…”

There was no longer any time to ascertain the veracity of Aier’s warning.

Under Villy’s stunned gaze, the enraged Elf abruptly ceased her relentless assault…

And then…

She drew a deep, shuddering breath.

Instantly, the very climate began to shift…

What had been a brilliant, sunny day transformed in a flash into an expanse of ominous, overcast skies.

Sand and stones whipped through the air, plunging the world into a sudden, disorienting gloom.

It was as if a tyrannical typhoon had swept through, leaving the lakeside trees bent at grotesque angles, some snapped clean in half, others torn violently from the earth.

Villy could barely keep her eyes open, clutching desperately to a lamppost, barely managing to anchor herself against the gale.

Yet, as the wind’s ferocity intensified, even the sturdy pole in her grasp began to emit ominous creaking sounds, threatening to snap.

‘Someone, please, stop her!’

As if in response to her silent plea, the villa’s front door… slowly swung open.
