A Morning of Blushes and Forgotten Clothes

Chapter 491,396 words12 min read

“Are you feeling better now?”

“Mmm…”

The luxurious sedan sped along the road to the school, carrying the two passengers. After the brief interlude that morning, the atmosphere inside the car had grown rather subtle, prompting Old Chen to wonder if something had transpired between his young master and Miss Bai.

Why else would Miss Bai be huddled in a corner of her seat, her head bowed, incessantly fiddling with the hem of her clothes?

Having served as the Mo family’s driver for decades, he was adept at sensing such awkwardness within the car. The palpable tension certainly did not escape his notice.

What truly puzzled him, however, was what could possibly render his young master so uncharacteristically silent.

Ultimately, he was merely a driver. He knew better than to pry into the personal affairs of Miss Bai and his young master.

In truth, Mo Bai wasn’t particularly bothered. After all, he had been taking advantage of his little deskmate all morning. His silence stemmed purely from the fact that the girl beside him seemed to be in an exceptionally mortified state. He genuinely feared that a few more words might make Bai Xia cry.

Can a bloodkin’s personality change so drastically once they acknowledge a master?

Why didn’t Dad mention this to me?

Mo Bai sighed, a hint of helplessness in his expression. Knowing he couldn’t tease Bai Xia further, he resigned himself to gazing idly out the window, occasionally sneaking glances at his little deskmate.

Yet, Mo Bai was not Bai Xia herself. How could he possibly fathom the tempestuous waves churning within the white-haired girl’s heart?

It’s just too shameful…

Bai Xia’s mind was consumed by vivid images of Mo Bai holding her captive last night, wantonly tormenting her. She couldn’t even comprehend how she had, half-reluctantly, half-willingly, succumbed to him.

The little flower was so delicate. Even Bai Xia herself usually only stroked and plucked it gently, yet even then, it could only endure for a short while.

But Mo Bai had simply grabbed it, kneading and shaping it as he pleased. The worst part was that her pleas for mercy were utterly useless.

Too… he’s truly too detestable…

Bai Xia fumed silently, inwardly lambasting her deskmate, while simultaneously feeling exasperated by her own uncooperative body.

It was one thing for him to constantly tease her, but even when she was being bullied so miserably, Mo Bai still wouldn’t let her go.

The thought of herself rolling her eyes and twitching uncontrollably in Mo Bai’s embrace, with the culprit now sitting right beside her, made Bai Xia’s face flush crimson with shame. Her calves felt weak, and she wished she could dig a hole and bury herself alive.

But why was there still a lingering sense of emptiness in her lower abdomen?

What is wrong with my body?

Bai Xia suddenly felt as though her own body had betrayed her. She had merely wanted to act cute and drink some blood to sate her hunger!

And being bullied by Mo Bai was one thing—at least she was full. But then she’d caused trouble early that morning, even kicking Mo Bai in the face. It was an accident, yes, but then she’d fallen on him twice, and the last time even resulted in an intimate encounter between Mo Bai and her little flower…

‘Gulp! Someone just kill me already… or maybe the universe should just explode…’

The more the girl thought, the deeper her shame grew. She felt as though she was on the verge of smoking, utterly at a loss as to how she would ever face Mo Bai again.

So why is this happening?!

Bai Xia was deeply embarrassed. She couldn’t understand what was wrong with her. It seemed that ever since Mo Bai had saved her that day, everything had become strange. Especially after discovering her deskmate had acknowledged her as his bloodkin, she found herself increasingly unable to resist Mo Bai’s closeness.

And that feeling was something she had never experienced with Mo Bai back when they were in school!

Is it really because I drank his blood and acknowledged him as my master?

Although she had a suspicion, Bai Xia couldn’t be certain. After all, she only knew that a bloodkin who had acknowledged a master could not drink blood from anyone else.

To be honest, the intense nausea she felt after drinking chicken blood that day was still vividly imprinted in Bai Xia’s memory.

A myriad of emotions intertwined in Bai Xia’s heart, causing her to unconsciously clench the hem of her clothes. Yet, in the end, it all dissolved into a helpless sigh. What good was further worry, after all?

‘Bai Xia, oh Bai Xia, tell yourself: didn’t Mo Bai save you? Didn’t he help you at crucial moments? Hasn’t he always shown you special care?’

As she pondered this, even Bai Xia, overwhelmed with shame, felt a warmth spread through her heart, accompanied by a surge of guilt towards her deskmate.

After all… Mo Bai had genuinely always been good to her, even when she used to appear in her male guise.

She secretly raised her eyes to look at Mo Bai, finding the young man gazing out at the swiftly passing scenery. Sunlight streamed through the car window, casting fragmented golden shadows on his eyelashes. Somehow, those feelings of shame and annoyance gradually dissipated like morning mist.

Bai Xia suddenly felt a little petty.

She had lost count of how many times Mo Bai had helped her, yet here she was, dwelling on the events of the past two days. Moreover, Mo Bai was now her master and had to feed her blood.

‘Forget it… let it be…’

Without Mo Bai, how many people in the world would truly care for her? In the end, wouldn’t she still be that little bloodkin, forced to rely on disguises to go out, living in constant fear, hiding in corners?

“Brother Mo… about this morning, I’m sorry…”

After a moment’s thought, Bai Xia bravely whispered an apology. Her voice was soft and light, as if she feared disturbing the young man beside her, almost making Mo Bai miss her words entirely.

To be honest, Mo Bai felt a little guilty himself, for it was he who had first entertained the idea of teasing Bai Xia that morning.

Seeing the girl’s timid expression, Mo Bai, aware of his fault, gave a light cough. He reached out and ruffled Bai Xia’s fluffy hair. “What’s there to apologize for to me? It’s fine, your Brother Mo isn’t a petty person.”

“Mmm…” Bai Xia softly hummed in response, her small head unconsciously rubbing against his palm.

The sedan slowly pulled up to the school gate. After dropping Mo Bai and Bai Xia off, Old Chen drove away. It was only then, upon entering the school grounds, that Bai Xia suddenly remembered she was still in her original form. Instantly, she looked at Mo Bai with a panicked expression.

“B-Brother Mo, where are my clothes?”

“Clothes? What clothes… aren’t they on you?”

Suddenly questioned, Mo Bai looked at Bai Xia in confusion.

Bai Xia: ???

An ominous premonition immediately seized Bai Xia.

‘Bai Xia: No, Mo Bai didn’t forget to bring my boy’s school uniform, did he?’

‘Mo Bai: No, you didn’t tell me to…’

The two stood at the school gate, staring wide-eyed at each other. Seeing that her deskmate was empty-handed, Bai Xia knew it was over.

This, this, this… without clothes, how could she possibly go to class?

It was well known that a bloodkin’s transformation ability only affected their body, not their clothes. Now, thanks to the hurried events of the morning, she had rushed to school without bringing anything.

“Brother Mo, I can’t possibly go into class like this!” Bai Xia stamped her foot in agitation. Without clothes to transform, she would literally be streaking.

But she couldn’t simply enter school and attend class as a girl either!

Seeing that there truly was no other option, Mo Bai could only sigh helplessly. He then patted his little deskmate’s shoulder. “Leave it to me in a bit…”
