“What?! Luo Tianjin is actually Luo Shang’s younger brother?”
Su Han hadn’t fully grasped their relationship, but even Yun Xun was utterly astonished. The esteemed Fourth Priest of the Dark Temple, a younger brother to the Holy Son of the Church of Light? One a priest of darkness, the other a holy son candidate of light—their familial tie was truly astounding.
“Oh? Even if you are his brother, what good does that do?” Chen Yuan swept a disdainful glance over Luo Shang, a sneer playing on his lips. “I truly don’t believe you can save him.”
“Since that’s the case, I’ll just kill you both!”
With that declaration, purple battle qi erupted from Chen Yuan’s body, surging towards Luo Shang. This violet energy, akin to raging purple flames, seared the air as it tore through the sky, rushing straight for its target.
However, Chen Yuan had only barely stepped into the Legendary rank, relying on elixirs. How could he possibly contend with Luo Shang, a Legendary Mage whose power rivaled the peak of the Legendary realm?
Luo Shang simply extended his right hand, which expanded to the size of a millstone. With a single grasp, he seized Chen Yuan, rendering him immobile, as a faint golden spiritual mist began to emanate from his palm.
“What have you done to me?” Chen Yuan roared, his voice laced with terror and unease. It wasn’t Luo Shang’s overwhelming, unresisting power that truly frightened him, nor his own sudden helplessness.
It was the chilling realization that his battle qi was slowly vanishing. He was plummeting from a Legendary Knight to a Sky-rank Knight, and the descent continued unabated!
“It’s nothing much,” Luo Shang said with a nonchalant air. “Just letting the Holy Spirit elements devour some battle qi. Don’t worry, you’ll cultivate it back in a month.”
His calm demeanor left Chen Yuan utterly speechless, forcing him to lower his head in quiet surrender.
Nearby, Xia Xuan also ceased her actions. She proactively released Luo Tianjin and the others from their restraints.
“Humans, have you had enough of your squabbling?” Motis evidently grew impatient. It manipulated a miniature world, sending it crushing down towards Luo Shang and his companions.
“Shut your mouth. Did I tell you to move?”
Golden particles erupted around Luo Shang, forming a hurricane-like vortex that shot towards Motis’s miniature world.
The two forces collided, and a single point of origin expanded rapidly. Blinding light burst forth in an instant, as intensely colliding magical particles generated a monstrous heatwave that swept away the very air.
Deafening explosions reverberated across the heavens and earth, and the oppressive might of Legendary-tier power forced the members of all major teams to their knees.
Luo Shang stood firm on the ground, though the trees behind him were ripped from their roots and flung into the distance. The vast Moon-Gazing Pond, however, had not been entirely evaporated as one might expect; it merely churned with a significant ripple.
Within the pond, Kiramei had sustained considerable injuries. Its enormous body had proven a disadvantage, causing it to suffer a hidden blow. Two of its four heads had exploded, but they were now visibly regenerating at an astonishing speed. The massive purple wings on its back were tattered, scorched, and utterly ruined.
“Human, you have successfully ignited my wrath!”
From the center of Motis’s four heads, a smaller, fifth head began to sprout. Unlike the others, this new head was shorter and possessed an additional eye. Beyond its usual pair of eyes, an unopened vertical eye was situated on its brow, appearing from a distance like a shimmering golden divine pattern.
“Damn it, we’ve been played!” Yun Xun exclaimed. “It actually grew a fifth head! Although it’s not fully mature, that still means it has stepped into the Mythical rank!”
He glanced at Motis, then at the assembled group, clearly at a loss for what to do.
“While we’ve only just entered the Legendary realm, and our opponent has only just stepped into the Mythical realm, I believe Morfitos, Bai Que, Tianjin, Yun Xun, and I can still attempt to fight,” Luo Shang declared.
“Even if we can’t kill it, we can at least retreat safely.”
Pale yellow wings unfurled from Luo Shang’s back, unleashing his full, peak power.
Morfitos and the others stood ready, their stances tense. Even Bai Que’s nerves were taut, poised to seize any opportunity to strike.
“A joke!” Motis scoffed, rising from the Moon-Gazing Pond into the air. “The gap between Mythical and Legendary is a chasm as wide as heaven and earth. Don’t indulge in such foolish delusions!”
“How will we know if we don’t try?”
“Very well! Then I shall show you the true disparity between Mythical and Legendary!”
The vertical eye on Motis’s fifth head suddenly snapped open, revealing a blinding expanse of white. “I wonder if you’ve heard that Kiramei’s fifth head controls the element of ‘Time-Space’!”
The divine pattern of the vertical eye on Motis’s fifth head represented the very essence of the Time-Space element. Thus, Luo Shang and his allies were given no chance to resist, instantly displaced into the turbulent currents of time and space.
‘Is this truly the gap between Mythical and Legendary?’ Luo Shang murmured to himself, sitting cross-legged atop a mountain peak. ‘So powerful, it’s utterly despair-inducing…’
Though the mountain was adorned with the songs of birds and fragrant flowers, it remained utterly devoid of human presence.
Without coordinates, Luo Shang couldn’t return for the time being. He sat cross-legged on the mountain peak, silently contemplating the divine pattern that had appeared the moment the vertical eye opened, attempting to grasp its full meaning.
Yet, how could a divine pattern representing supreme rules be so easily understood?
Meanwhile, Su Han and Bai Que had been swept away by the time-space currents into another dimension entirely.
