A Tipsy Butterfly

Chapter 5717 words6 min read

Liyahiss pondered the issue to no avail and decided to set it aside for now.

Her philosophy was simple: when faced with a problem, sleep on it.

When she first arrived in this new world, she was already wearing a white nightgown, so she had no qualms about collapsing right into bed. Still, this was a new body, and it would be a lie to say she wasn’t curious about her new form.

Fortune favors the bold.

She decisively lifted her nightgown.

Wow, so that’s what I look like… A delicate butterfly.

First things first: a shower. It was the perfect opportunity to get acquainted with this new vessel.

She rose and headed for the bathroom, first wrapping her hair up before turning on the water. In her old life, she would have worried about hidden cameras in a hotel, but here in her own home, she could relax completely.

She had no idea where the water came from, but that didn’t matter. As long as it worked, it was fine. To the touch, it felt much the same as her old body.

She alternated between cold and hot water, letting it cascade over her as her hands explored, sometimes prodding here, sometimes kneading there. After nearly an hour, the bathroom was filled with her scent.

Feeling a little tired when she stepped out, she simply used [Auto-Cleanse] to whisk away the lingering moisture. [Auto-Cleanse] was a passive skill that activated automatically at intervals, but it could also be used at will.

Next, she used [Instant Wardrobe] to slip into her nightgown, then dove under the covers, pulling them over her head.

Sniff, sniff.

Ah, what a lovely scent.

No one’s going to launch a surprise attack in the night, right? she thought.

Worrying was pointless anyway. Her consciousness began to fade, and perhaps due to her exhaustion, she fell asleep almost instantly.

The sun was just beginning its ascent, casting a faint dawn glow. A hazy, orange-red orb rose slowly in the distance, painting the land in a soft, golden light.

She opened her eyes to a familiar ceiling. She had slept wonderfully, dreaming that all those who had once bullied her were now crushed beneath her heel, suffering cruel and fitting punishments.

Liyahiss started to sit up, but the moment her back felt the soft mattress, she sank back down as if drawn by a magnet.

It’s still early, she mused. I’ll just lie here a bit longer. After toiling away for so long in my past life, don’t I deserve to indulge myself a little in this one?

Knock, knock, knock.

“Your Highness, breakfast is ready.”

Hearing that intelligent, refined voice, she shot up like a bolt. After all, a person who wasn’t enthusiastic about food had some serious issues.

Breakfast consisted of peaches, oranges, wraps, and milk. It was all perfectly to her taste, especially the succulent peaches and the satisfying milk.

After finishing her meal, she returned to her little haven, not forgetting to instruct, “Hillisa, I have important business to attend to shortly. Do not disturb me.”

Once she received an affirmative reply from the maid who was clearing the table, she locked the door and closed the windows.

She silently chanted Transform! in her mind, which in reality was just activating [Instant Wardrobe].

A dazzling white light enveloped her, and when it faded, she was clad in her combat attire.

Liyahiss strode over to the mirror. Her reflection revealed a young woman with shoulder-length jet-black hair tied into a single ponytail. Her eyes were the purple of a phalaenopsis orchid, her skin fair, her nose delicate and upturned. She had cherry-like lips and cheeks so flawless they seemed they would bruise at a touch, with wispy bangs framing her forehead.

Her purple-toned Lolita dress was paired with silver armor of an unknown metal, protecting her most vulnerable areas. White lace over-the-knee socks clung to her slender calves, and her feet were tucked into black Mary Janes.

She gathered the hem of her skirt with both hands and twirled before the mirror.

“I don’t think I’m particularly cute… Nah, who am I kidding? I’m adorable! Haha!”

But she couldn’t get carried away. She had important matters to attend to.
