Lin Chenyue’s surroundings gradually brightened. “Where is this? It looks incredibly luxurious.” He turned his head, surveying the area. He found himself at the center of a grand palace, though its ornamentation was surprisingly minimal. Four colossal pillars supported the structure, each gleaming golden. One pillar bore a coiled dragon, another a phoenix soaring with outstretched wings, while the remaining two depicted a majestic white tiger and a formidable Black Tortoise.
‘The carvings are so lifelike, as if they were real. Are these the Four Divine Beasts? Does that mean this game is themed around Western fantasy?’ Lin Chenyue murmured, his hand tracing the surface of a pillar.
Just then, the pillars abruptly pulsed with light, and a dragon surged skyward, circling above the palace.
“Who are you, and why have you entered the Creator God’s Temple?” the Azure Dragon in the sky questioned, its voice laced with bewilderment.
“I don’t know either; I just arrived here the moment I entered…” A soft, sweet voice responded, causing Lin Chenyue to freeze. ‘What was that voice? Wasn’t I the one speaking? Wait, why is this so clearly a girl’s voice?’ Realization dawning, Lin Chenyue hastily extended a hand, and before him appeared a pair of slender, delicate, jade-like hands. ‘What’s happening? These aren’t my hands!’ he thought, panicking. He quickly scanned his body, his gaze immediately falling upon a white and blue dress, and a pair of small, budding breasts that came into his view.
‘What in the world is going on? Could it be… I’ve transmigrated into a girl’s body?’ Lin Chenyue thought, utterly incredulous. He reached a trembling hand to his chest, the undeniable sensation confirming this new reality was his own.
“Azure Dragon, what’s happening?” The other three pillars illuminated in succession, and the clear, resonant cry of the phoenix rang out.
“This girl appeared here out of thin air. I’m unsure of her origins. Wait, could it be…?” The Azure Dragon stared at Lin Chenyue, who was still frozen in shock, then suddenly seemed to recall something, speaking with dawning astonishment.
“That can be the only explanation,” the other three Divine Beasts affirmed, exchanging glances. “The world has not yet opened to outsiders. Only the Father God’s daughter, as he once spoke of, could possibly enter here.”
Lin Chenyue snapped out of his stupor. ‘So, the daughter my parents spoke of back then… that’s me?’ he muttered to himself. ‘My harem plan died before it even began? And now I’m the one who’s going to be… *pushed down*?’ The thought of himself groaning beneath a man made Lin Chenyue violently shake his head, clenching his delicate white fists. ‘No, I won’t marry anyone… Could it be that what I said has come true? I only joked about it back then. No, please no…’
Just then, two flashes of light pierced the air, and a middle-aged couple materialized within the palace. The man possessed a handsome face, his eyes, framed by sharp, sword-like brows, exuding an aura of majesty. The woman, with her captivating features, bore few traces of age; instead, the years had only enhanced her beauty and elegance.
The moment the woman entered, her anxious gaze darted to Lin Chenyue. Seeing her standing safely in the center of the palace, she exhaled a long breath, then rushed forward and enveloped Lin Chenyue in a tight embrace. “Yue’er, how are you feeling? Are you uncomfortable anywhere?” she asked, immediately beginning to examine Lin Chenyue’s body.
Lin Chenyue looked at the woman before him, a warmth swelling in his chest. He cautiously asked, “Are you… Mother?” The word “Mother” escaped his lips instinctively, as if an inherent part of the body he now inhabited.
The woman paused, startled, then tearfully replied, “Yue’er, do you no longer remember anything from before? It’s all my fault…” Unable to contain herself, she began to weep.
Seeing his wife in tears, the man abandoned his interrogation of the Four Divine Beasts and walked over to comfort her. “Qin Yuxin, it’s not your fault. I failed to take proper care of both of you. Besides, perhaps forgetting the past isn’t necessarily a bad thing for Yue’er.”
Watching his mother weep in his father’s arms, Lin Chenyue couldn’t help but blurt out, “Mother, it’s not your fault. It’s because I ran off and ditched my bodyguards.” Lin Chenyue froze. ‘What was that? Is the previous owner’s consciousness still lingering?’
Upon hearing Lin Chenyue’s reply, the woman exclaimed with delight, “Yue’er, you’ve remembered?” But seeing Lin Chenyue’s bewildered eyes, she couldn’t help but smile wryly. “Was it just an instinctive reaction?”
The man soothed his wife. “Let the past remain in the past. Now, we must help Yue’er quickly adapt to her current life.” He turned to face the Four Divine Beasts. “You all should descend to the lower realm and maintain stability there. Significant events are likely to unfold soon.”
Knowing that this was a polite dismissal, the Four Divine Beasts bowed respectfully. “Yes, Father God, Mother God.” They cast a final glance at Lin Chenyue before vanishing instantly from the palace.
