Chapter 50 Part 4: New Year Event

A quiet silence flowed.

Shine and I began to carefully step back.

The rabbit food that had fallen at our feet crumbled, but we had no time to care.

“Hey… wait!”

At that moment, Jin, who had noticed that our movements were unusual, urgently extended his hand and walked forward.

The rabbits began to run away in all directions at his movements.

Why was he here?

Could he have come to steal the rabbit food?

As I looked at him as if I was looking at a horrible creature, his face became sad.

“No! That’s not it!”

“You even stole the rabbits’ food…”

Shine seemed to be thinking the same thing as me, and pushed the rabbit food that had fallen at our feet toward Jin.

I shifted my gaze and examined his feet.

He wasn’t wearing the shoes he had been wearing last time, but the boots that the staff used when cleaning the rabbit cages.

“I was just cleaning.”

Jin started to make excuses.

But they were just excuses.

The Jin imprinted in my memory was a very bad villain who stole sandwiches.

So even if I said that I had snuck into the rabbit cage to steal rabbit food, I could believe it.

“Okay…. Should we calm down for a moment?”

Shine and I didn’t answer.

That’s because I remembered what Amy had told me.

“Ha…. Amy….”

He touched his forehead and let out a deep sigh.

“Guys. I’m not a bad person.”

Jin carefully took a step forward.

At the same time, Shine and I took two steps back.

There was a lot I wanted to say, but I kept my mouth shut as I remembered Amy’s words.

We must never talk.

I pulled the bag I was carrying on my back toward me.

I couldn’t let this sandwich be taken away from me.

Jin and we started to move slowly.

At that moment, a small rabbit jumped in front of Jin.

“Run!”

I immediately grabbed Shine’s hand and started running.

“Ah! Guys!”

Jin’s urgent voice came from behind me.

Behind the small footsteps, I could hear Jin’s thumping footsteps.

Terrified, I spread my hands behind my back.

It was an extremely natural, reflexive action to protect the body.

The blue current shot out of my hand, scattering in all directions and covering the entire building.

The home appliances inside the building weren’t just a POS machine.

The camera that could remotely monitor the rabbit farm, the automatic door, and even the various vending machines.

All of them were covered in blue current.

The moment Shine and I passed through the automatic door, the malfunctioning automatic door began to close.

Jin, who had lost us right in front of his nose, placed his hand on the automatic door with a bewildered expression.

But that wasn’t the end.

The moment the automatic door closed, the vending machine behind Jin made a loud noise and started spewing out various drinks.

The endless parade of drinks pouring out.

Soon after, a small explosion sound was heard.

All the cameras that were monitoring the rabbit cages inside the building had blown up.

At the same time, a siren sound began to beep.

It was the fire alarm.

A stream of water began to pour down at the same time as the alarm sounded.

The sprinklers inside the building began to work.

All of this happened in an instant.

Jin and I met eyes across the unopenable automatic door.

His eyebrows flinched and began to tremble violently.

Jin’s head was soaked with moisture.

I stuck out my tongue as I watched him, then turned around and ran hurriedly.

I held onto Shine’s hand and ran desperately for a while.

We were panting and hid behind a large rock and looked in the direction of the rabbit farm.

As you could see from afar, the loud alarm didn’t end.

I hadn’t completed the entire course I had planned, but I didn’t feel too bad.

“Aren’t you following me?”

“Yeah.”

Jin’s figure was still nowhere to be seen.

At that, we sat down on the ground and started to catch our breath.

Panting, I opened my bag and took out the drink inside.

Shine also reached out and took out a drink, probably because her throat was parched.

“Should I have a sandwich?”

“Will Jin come?”

At Shine’s words, I stuck my head out from behind the rock and looked at the rabbit farm.

The loud siren sound was no longer heard.

The red light that had been flashing was no longer there.

“I don’t think he’s there.”

Jin’s figure was nowhere to be found.

But I wasn’t relieved.

After quickly looking around, I got up and left the rock with Shine.

“Where are we going?”

“We’re looking for a place to hide.”

I started to enter the area where the trees were thickly rising.

If I went deep inside, I wouldn’t be able to see this place from the outside.

It was also a place found while playing hide-and-seek with Shine.

As I entered the forest area, the smell of grass became stronger.

It was similar to the smell I had smelled when I went hiking with my friends before.

Inside the forest area, there were small tables and chairs lined up.

The logs buried deep in the ground and the large wooden tables carved from trees made it look quite atmospheric.

I approached and sat down.

“Shine, sit down too.”

“Isn’t he coming this way?”

“But he’s nowhere to be found?”

Shine still looked around, sticking his head out as if he was worried.

I untied the bag I was carrying on my back and started taking out sandwiches from inside.

I hadn’t even drawn yet, but it seemed like it would be nice to draw while eating sandwiches here.

Shine and I began to eat our sandwiches in a hurry.

The sandwiches I stuffed into my mouth made my cheeks swell.

“Draw?”

“Yes.”

After eating all the sandwiches, I took out a large sketchbook from my bag.

There weren’t many blank pages left because I had used it so many times.

I thought I should ask Amy for a new sketchbook.

With the crayon in my hand, I continued to draw without hesitation.

A small rabbit farm was slowly being drawn.

However, the evil Jin who had come to visit began to let out an evil laugh.

I began to move the crayon even more diligently.

Shine drew rabbits running away from Jin.

I drew a large fork in his hand and put the hay that the rabbits were eating between the fork.

“He really looks evil.”

“That’s right.”

Shine even drew horns on Jin’s head.

Looking at it like this, there was no other devil.

The poor rabbits were shedding tears as they watched their food being taken away.

“This is a perfect depiction of Jin.”

“That’s right.”

Jin started to eat the hay without fail.

It seemed truly terrifying that he only filled his own stomach, not feeling sorry for the rabbits.

“I’m done!”

The drawing was perfect.

If I showed this drawing to the people who were staying here, anyone would immediately recognize it as Jin.

“Let’s go now.”

I packed my sketchbook and crayons in my yellow bag.

I also put the leftover sandwich wrapper in the small pocket on the front of my bag.

I headed to the entrance of the park and checked the time on the large clock nearby.

“I came out quickly.”

I left the park earlier than usual.

I think it was because I skipped the time at the rabbit farm because of Jin.

Just before leaving the park, I glanced at the rabbit farm.

The interior of the building was beginning to come to mind.

“I didn’t do it….”

I shook my head and muttered.

Yes.

It wasn’t me, it was Jin.

I nodded and left the park.

Shine and I quickly ran down the stairs and into the room.

I was worried that Jin might chase after me, but the moment I entered the room, I was able to shake off that worry.

“Rain!”

Rain was in the room.

She was stretching out her arms and legs, probably doing gymnastics.

Rain’s face turned red as she looked back at us.

“Hello…?”

Rain lowered her head, quickly lowered her arms and legs, and waved.

Shine and I, who were watching, circled around her body and talked.

“Didn’t you say you were busy?”

“Yeah. We just finished up and came to play.”

“Really?”

“You came to play with us?”

Shine and I continued to circle around Rain.

“Ah…”

At that moment, I remembered a memory I had forgotten.

Because I remembered Amy telling me to wash my hands and feet after going outside.

I untied the bag on my back and took out a dinosaur rock from inside.

“What’s that?”

Rain slowly approached me and asked, seeming interested in the dinosaur rock.

I proudly held out the rock to her.

“Isn’t it cool?”

“This…?”

Rain also didn’t seem to understand how cool dinosaurs were.

I let out a small sigh and headed to the bathroom with Shine.

While wiping my feet and hands, I also wiped the dirt off the rock.

After wiping the dirt off, the outline of the rock dinosaur looked clearer.

After I left the bathroom, I placed the rock dinosaur on the table as a decoration.

The ordinary table without any decorations became cool.

“Awesome.”

But Rain and Shine didn’t seem to be interested in dinosaurs.

“Rain was doing gymnastics?”

“Yeah.”

“Good.”

But Rain started the rest of her moves, as if she wasn’t finished with her gymnastics yet.

Rain finished her gymnastics by spinning around.

She took out her milk with a slightly red face and drank it down.

“When is Amy coming?”

“Well, I don’t know.”

I immediately sat down in front of the computer, leading Rain and Shine.

Since neither of them seemed to know the coolness of dinosaurs, I thought I’d show them some dinosaur videos I’d watched before.

As soon as the computer finished booting up, I logged onto YouTube.

Right after that, I went to my YouTube storage and played some dinosaur videos that I’d liked before.

A loud dinosaur sound flowed out from the speakers connected to the computer.

However, neither of them seemed to be particularly interested in dinosaurs, so they weren’t concentrating.

“They’re so ugly.”

“You’re right. They’re gross.”

The two of them criticized me.

I let out a small sigh and slumped.

I moved my hand that was on the mouse and ended the video.

“Jeff…?”

Shine made a worried expression at my deadened appearance.

I didn’t answer and kept my mouth shut.

“It was cool.”

“Really…?”

“Yeah. It was a little gross, but it was cool,” Shine said with a bright smile.

I looked at Rain, who was biting my lip, and asked.

“Rain?”

“Uh…. Me?”

Rain, who was looking at me, started to roll her eyes here and there as if she was greatly embarrassed.

Then, at some point, she opened her eyes wide as if a good idea came to her and answered me.

“It was cool. It was really cool. It’s not my style, but….”

“Really?”

“Of course. But Jeff, the stone dinosaurs you brought weren’t cool enough?”

“Not cool enough?”

“Yeah. The dinosaurs in the video had bright colors, but these ones don’t have any colors.”

Rain nodded and said.

“Isn’t that right?”

I looked at the stone dinosaurs as if I was possessed by Rain’s words.

Her words seemed right.

“I think so!”

I jumped down from my seat and ran to the table.

“If you want to color the rocks, watercolors would be better,” Rain said as I took out crayons and colored pencils from my yellow bag.

She walked to the corner of the room and rummaged through the drawers.

Rain, who found the paints, took out the brushes and ran towards us.

That’s how the dinosaur coloring game began.

The three of us began discussing what colors would suit the dinosaurs.

“How about red?”

“Should I do it for the horns on their heads?”

“No. The horns are white.”

We moved the brushes while reconciling our differences of opinion.

The dinosaurs that had been shining black were given gorgeous colors.

Finally, we drew the dinosaurs’ eyes.

The round black eyes created a very cute atmosphere.

“It looks cool,” Shine muttered while looking at the colorful dinosaurs.

I had expected them to look majestic, but this one was cool in its own way.
