Chapter 51: “Do What You Have to Do”

[Omniscient Cthulhu: Hmm, I see, you’re angry.]

[Omniscient Cthulhu: Calm down.]

[Woah~]

[You’re way too angry right now. Calm down. Haha.]

[These guys are all poking fun. Haha.]

[But it is true that calming down is the right move… There’s nothing that will change by getting mad.]

It is true.

Getting angry wouldn’t change anything.

But sometimes, even knowing that, you have to get angry.

Like right now.

“My little brother’s friends are probably thinking something about me.”

[Omniscient Cthulhu: Poop! Haha, people watching the stream hear the donation sound?]

[Haha, haha, haha.]

[As expected, facts are with the manager.]

[But now that I think about it, I’m the one who’s embarrassed.]

[Agh, I’m so embarrassed.]

[Kang Hoomin: It’s not a bad preference. I’m supporting you.]

[Please, just stop supporting me…]

[Scott Lesbian…]

Grumbling, I turned the game back on.

It seemed better to organize my complicated thoughts by playing the game.

“Ah, I’ll try to enjoy ranked games today.”

I had a lot of stress today.

So it seemed important to relieve the stress through the game.

If I couldn’t release my stress here, it would just build up and likely become a mental illness.

[Omniscient Cthulhu: Heh, don’t enjoy it too much.]

[Solo queue emergency! Haha.]

[Diamond gatekeepers, get ready! Haha, you’re all done for now.]

[Orphan maker Dama ON.]

[Luxembourg widow maker Dama, let’s go.]

[As expected, family division is a big deal. Haha.]

[Hwanhee: If Dama is grinning thinking about smashing the enemy top, it’s an upvote. Haha.]

“Alright, let’s go.”

I was planning to beat the opponent to release the heat building up in my head.

Until they admit their mistake.

And then, a little while later.

Ding-!

The game started, and I immediately selected a champion randomly.

And out came one champion.

“It’s been a while since I got a normal champion.”

A champion with a curvy figure who used a bow.

She had a purple color scheme overall.

I liked her at first sight.

‘She uses a bow,’ which was already a point in her favour.

‘That means I can attack from a distance.’

Hitting the enemy top from a distance, measuring the range, was my specialty.

Being able to attack the opponent unilaterally.

Thinking like that, I quickly selected her and set up the runes.

The runes could now be set without needing help from others.

“Take Focused Attack.”

This rune increases the damage dealt to the enemy champion when attacking them three times in a row.

I also changed the secondary rune to one focused on early lane phase.

[Mangming: Oh.]

[Mangming: You’re setting the runes well now.]

[Mangming: That rune is really good.]

[Omniscient Cthulhu: Mangming’s not streaming, just came to mess around.]

[Mangming: Turn on the stream, Mangming! Turn on the stream, Mangming!]

[But honestly, Dama’s stream is more fun than Mangming’s these days.]

You have been temporarily banned!

[Omniscient Cthulhu: Taz mentioned.]

[Mangming: Don’t mention Taz.]

[No, seriously, how can you not mention Taz when you’re trolling in the chat?]

[Kang Hoomin: Not attracting trolls is a talent too.]

I glanced at the chat and saw Mangming was there.

It seemed like he hadn’t turned on his stream yet.

‘He’s been coming here a lot lately.’

He used to come often, but it felt like he’s been coming more frequently lately.

Thinking this, I spoke up.

“Writing ‘No graffiti’ on a place you’ve graffitied is also graffiti. How many years of internet experience do you have? You shouldn’t be trolling like that.”

Most people watching my stream were likely familiar with online communities.

That meant they’d be well-versed in dealing with trolling.

So, I gave them a short warning like this.

They’d understand with just these few words.

[Omniscient Cthulhu: Haha.]

[Graffiti banning is also graffiti, you ungrateful people.]

[Mangming: Let’s just watch the game.]

[Mangming: Don’t mention Taz.]

[Twist his neck, haha. (Just talking to myself, not a Taz mention so no ban needed.)]

[Using parentheses in chat is so annoying. Haha.]

[Just boldly mention Taz and get banned already. Why act so annoyingly?]

[Kang Hoomin: Annoying behaviour does make it easier to survive though.]

[Annoying experience.]

You have been temporarily banned!

After picking the champion, I quickly typed in the chat.

[Dugong: Wait a moment.]

[Dugong: Going to the bathroom.]

I quickly typed and ran to the bathroom to take care of business.

There was just a little time left before the game started after the pick phase.

A little later.

I washed my hands quickly, sat back down, and bought my items.

Then, I headed toward the lane.

“Still, I came back quickly. Phew, that was close.”

[Omniscient Cthulhu: There’s nothing more annoying than being late and having to remake the game.]

[I can understand if it’s the bathroom, but people who remake because they’re smoking should be killed.]

[Hwanhee: Smoking bastards should have their necks twisted and be put on display..]

[Dama took 2 minutes and 4 seconds to come back from the bathroom.]

You have been temporarily banned!

[What is that chat?]

[Shit, am I seeing this correctly?]

[It’s dizzying…]

[Please, stop it.]

I thought I saw something in the chat that I shouldn’t have.

It must’ve been a mistake.

Yeah.

It must have been.

Thinking this, I checked the enemy laner.

“The enemy top is Jelly.”

A champion resembling jelly came to the top lane.

It wasn’t anything new, as that champion usually goes top, but it was a bit tricky.

That champion definitely had the potential for a strong hit.

[Omniscient Cthulhu: It’s already going to be so fun, haha.]

[Show me how you beat the enemy top.]

[It’s a little sorry to beat Jelly with Barus top though.]

[Jelly has something to say too. If she can hold on and get a one-shot fight, she can win afterward.]

[Hwanhee: If you pick a tank against a ranged top, you’re confident. Haha.]

The game began.

Pew.

Pew.

I continued shooting arrows from a distance.

The enemy’s health slowly dropped.

But I wasn’t satisfied with this.

Whoosh-

Boom!

I used my abilities to burst the stacks on Jelly and traded damage, causing the enemy’s health to drop below half.

Immediately, I used Flash to finish off the rest of their health.

But—

Wriggle, wriggle.

Due to her passive, the enemy top didn’t die immediately and transformed into four jelly forms.

But since I already knew this, I didn’t panic and kept attacking Jelly.

Then, with just two hits left.

Eeku-!

Our bald-headed jungler came and finished off Jelly.

A little while later.

[Enemy slain!]

[Lee Sin -> Jax]

“Why did you take that? I could’ve just killed it.”

Barus’ passive increases attack speed when an enemy is slain, so I could have just barely finished off Jelly.

But he took the last hit.

[Omniscient Cthulhu: That idiot.]

[Bald-head average, haha.]

[You f*cking bastard, dumbass.]

[Woah~]

[Why are they so angry?]

[As expected, top lane players are usually wild ones, haha.]

[Kang Hoomin: Give me that guy’s address.]

But I could understand.

Considering Barus’ attack speed, if I made even a small mistake with my basic attacks, I wouldn’t have been able to kill the enemy.

“Still, don’t swear too much. The damage calculation was a bit tricky.”

If I didn’t say something here, some viewers might add the jungler as a friend and start throwing insults, so I needed to give a heads-up.

If I let that happen, I’d be the only one getting cursed.

[Ally][UncoveringLondon’sSecret]][Barus]: Good

[Ally][coocoo][Lee Sin]: Yummy

“…Hmm.”

Yeah, it feels like they’re trying to pick a fight, but maybe I’m just feeling this wrong.

Getting a kill always feels nice, though.

With that thought, I continued the game.

How much time had passed?

“Oh, here’s the kill opportunity.”

I used my ultimate to bind the enemy, and immediately shot an arrow.

Jelly was now on the brink of death.

Now, I just needed to pressure the lane and dive.

But then.

[You have been slain by the enemy!]

[Jax -> Lee Sin]

“Huh?”

Why did our jungler suddenly die?

I couldn’t understand.

I should’ve been able to dive after stacking the lane.

Even if the enemy top retreated, that would’ve still been advantageous.

Just as I was confused.

[Ally][coocoo][Lee Sin]: Why aren’t you pushing the lane faster?

You could’ve just dived and finished it, haha. [Allied][coocoo][Lee Sin]: Ugh

“Ugh.”

As soon as I heard that, I wanted to type something back, but I restrained myself with superhuman patience.

If I started arguing now, I’d be the only one at a disadvantage.

I had to hold back.

“Phew.”

As I kept holding back and playing through the lane phase.

[If we had just taken the top earlier, we would’ve won the game.] [Allied][coocoo][Lee Sin]: Ah

[Ally][coocoo][Lee Sin]: The more I think about it, the more frustrating it gets.

Lee Sin kept trying to trade damage.
