Who is Shi Yu?
Just as Shi Yun was about to ask, he was interrupted by several frantic voices.
“Hurry, there’s a fire over there!!!”
“We’re doomed, fire, it’s fire!”
“Go put out the fire!”
Hearing these words, Shi Yun almost instinctively turned his head. His shocked pupils reflected—
A small house at the foot of the mountain was billowing black smoke, and even a forest was dyed a fiery red.
Because the weather was dry, once a mountain fire started, it was irreversible, not to mention that it was connected to the foot of the mountain!
“You wait here.”
An Huaixu pulled Shi Yun behind him, his movements almost stern.
However, Shi Yun inexplicably felt that his emotions were not right, like—fear?
But now was not the time to discuss these things.
Hearing An Huaixu’s words, he subconsciously disagreed.
However, as soon as he frowned and the words of rebuttal were about to take shape, a body filled with the aroma of various snacks embraced him tightly.
In an instant, he forgot everything he wanted to say.
He noticed that An Huaixu’s hand on his head was trembling and cautious.
The next second, An Huaixu took a deep breath and said in a suppressed, almost pleading tone: “Listen to me, Xiaoyu. Stay here, don’t leave…don’t leave me again.”
“Boom—”
The loud noise of a large tree crushing the house covered An Huaixu’s words.
Shi Yun was still stunned until the embrace disappeared like a dragonfly skimming the water.
He blinked again, and An Huaixu had already rushed into the crowd to help them put out the fire.
Shi Yun looked around, feeling uneasy for some reason, as if something bigger than what was happening now was waiting for him.
“Bang!”
In just a few minutes, the house collapsed for the second time, and sparks splashed far away!
Although the fire was a bit far from the Mid-Autumn night market, there were many people in the square tonight because of the Mid-Autumn Festival. The many voices mixed together caused a headache.
Seeing the flames, he felt weak all over, imagining being swallowed by them.
He closed his eyes uneasily, trying to numb himself.
But the more he was in the dark, the more he could smell the strong smell of smoke, and in the darkness, the explosion of a car crashing into a tree and a childish voice panting and wailing emerged.
A sharp pain came from his waist, as if a piece of the car had hit him, causing him to cry out in pain!
But he felt as if his heels were gripped by the claws of a demon from hell, making him cold all over and unable to regain control of his body.
His eyes were like a revolving lantern, with multiple scenes flashing alternately.
One moment it was the happy faces of a group of people, and the next it was the terror of someone threatening him.
He wanted to call for help, but his voice was stuck in his throat!
He wanted to call someone’s name, but blood gushed out of his throat!
Suffocation.
Despair.
Until—
“Help…save me, someone save us!!!”
A little girl’s voice instantly woke him up.
He opened his eyes, took a few deep breaths, and forced himself to suppress the strange discomfort he felt.
He looked around and found a little girl stumbling down a small path on the side of the mountain.
“Help!”
The little girl saw Shi Yun and grabbed him like a life-saving straw, crying incessantly.
“Save me, my dad, he’s still on the mountain!”
Shi Yun’s heart sank when he heard the little girl’s last words.
He looked up, and the fire had already started to spread, connecting the fiery red to the horizon!
Seeing the flames, Shi Yun subconsciously avoided them, unable to suppress the fear in his heart.
But looking at the little girl’s appearance, he took a deep breath, asked her about her dad’s specific location, took her to a safe place, and rushed up the mountain alone.
An Huaixu realized that the fire in front of him could no longer be controlled with simple water, so he led everyone to a safe distance, briefly comforted the crowd, and took out his phone to call the fire department.
He quickly relayed the current situation to the other party.
His mouth kept talking, and his eyes turned sharply.
Suddenly, he noticed a familiar figure running farther and farther away, and his brow furrowed.
“Damn it!”
He hung up the phone, cursed, and hurried to catch up.
His steps were flustered, and a slanting branch slashed across his body, causing blood to roll out.
However, he didn’t seem to feel the pain and kept walking forward.
He seemed to have returned to the small road where Shi Yu was lost when he was a child.
He saw the small figure standing in front of him, a cute smile emerging because of the candy he had just put in his mouth.
“Brother Huaixu…”
“Xiaoyu…”
An Huaixu kept running forward, but he was getting farther and farther away from the small figure.
He stretched out his arms, but all he felt was a burning sting!
Some villagers noticed An Huaixu’s figure and quickly followed him.
A kind brother grabbed his arm and told him to stay away from here.
An Huaixu didn’t have time to pay attention to this person as he was looking for another way.
He quickly walked past the small road…
“Careful!”
A tree in front of him fell down, blocking his way.
If An Huaixu,
An Huaixu desperately wanted to reach out and move the tree trunk.
Suddenly, he looked down in shock.
The red string that had been half-burned at some point fluttered to the ground and was ignited by sparks and turned to ashes.
An Huaixu raised his head sharply, looked at the place where Shi Yun had disappeared, and his eyes were almost blood red.
“Shi Yun!”
His desperate voice echoed in the mountains.
But in the end, all that answered him was the endless echo and the crackling sound of flames.
An Huaixu gritted his teeth and crossed the flames regardless of the kind brother’s shocked voice.
The situation on the mountain was worse than imagined.
Shi Yun must have inhaled too much of the gas here, feeling dizzy in his head.
He turned his blurry vision for a long time before he finally saw a middle-aged man panting in pain.
The middle-aged man shouted for help when he saw him!
Shi Yun’s eyes lit up, and he hurried to the man’s side.
Getting closer, he realized that the man’s leg was crushed by a tree, and he also had many wounds on his body!
Seeing the man panting rapidly and his cheeks pale, the situation was very serious.
The tree trunk pressing on the man’s leg was obviously scorched by the fire, and half of it was dyed a bright red.
Shi Yun didn’t think too much, found the right position, and directly lifted the tree.
The pain in his palms overwhelmed the fear of the flames.
The tree wasn’t light, and he barely managed to move it a little after trying several times.
But even that little distance was enough for the man to get a moment to catch his breath.
Shi Yun took a deep breath: “I’ll move it in a moment, and you quickly pull your leg out!”
The man nodded.
Shi Yun took a deep breath, and his hands, which already had broken wounds, covered the tree trunk again.
The pain almost made him faint.
He stood firm and moved the tree hard: “Move!”
The man quickly moved his leg out.
Shi Yun quickly helped the man up and limped down the mountain.
But the situation now was completely different from when he came up.
The flames blocked all the small roads.
To get down, he could only quickly cross the flames.
It only took Shi Yun a few seconds to make a decision.
His throat rolled, and he bent down and carried the man on his back.
The man was a little unbearable and grabbed his arm: “Don’t worry about me, you—”
“Save your strength, don’t talk.”
The man looked at Shi Yun’s serious appearance and was deeply moved.
He lay on Shi Yun’s back and silently shed tears.
Shi Yun estimated the distance: “Get ready!”
The next moment, he rushed into the flames in two steps.
The flames scorched his entire body.
The familiar feeling seemed to take him back to his childhood.
Several fragments of happy childhood memories flashed through his mind.
The stinging pain jumped in all his nerves.
“Xiaoyu, this is your Brother Huaixu, do you still remember him?”
A woman led him to see a boy.
He must have been sick at the time, his face was red, and his nose was running.
He sniffed, his hoarse voice soft: “Brother Huaixi…”
The boy looked even worse after hearing that: “It’s Huaixu.”
On a clear sky, in the small garden outside the villa, he sat among the messy toys and played with himself.
A gentle and dignified woman came from behind and said with a smile: “Xiaoyu baby, come let Mommy hug you!”
Then, a man in a suit and leather shoes also squatted down, opened his arms, and said cheerfully: “Xiaoyu, come to Daddy’s here.”
A little boy with a cute band-aid on his face and dirty all over carefully took out a small snail from his pocket:
“Xiaoyu, look what Brother brought back for you today!”
Then the young An Huaixu said helplessly:
“Xiaoyu…can you please stop crying all the time.”
“Then am I your most favorite!”
“…”
“Woo—”
Little An Huaixu surrendered and put down the tsundere buff for the first time, turned his head, and awkwardly hummed.
“What about you?”
“You, Da Niu, Xiao Hua…”
Little Shi Yun counted by his fingers, seemingly not noticing that little An Huaixu’s face was getting darker and darker.
Little An Huaixu: “You’re really annoying.”
Little Shi Yun was sad: “Waa…don’t hate me!”
Then, everyone shouted together:
“Xiaoyu, jump forward!”
With the disappearance of this voice, Shi Yun jumped out of the flames.
He put the man on his back on the ground as soon as he stood up.
He was breathing rapidly, dizzy, and his legs went soft, kneeling unsteadily on the ground, his knees hitting the stones hard.
Dark colors depicted him, and he curled up, using all his strength to protect himself.
But his skin, which wasn’t in good shape, still tormented him until he couldn’t help but shed tears.
However, his painful and sour heart made him not know whether these tears were for the narrow escape just now or for some memories that he had recalled.
“Dad, Mom, Brother, I miss you so much…”
Brother Huaixu, so we really knew each other a long time ago.
I thought it was a first meeting, but it turned out to be a reunion.
But there probably won’t be a chance to reminisce…
Mom, Dad, Brother, I’m sorry, if there is a next life.
