Sui Ming walked alone down the vast street, the bustling scene around him truly shocking him.
Unlike the eerie atmosphere he had sensed before, this city of order, which only existed in his memories, was now filled with the warmth of everyday life.
Street vendors called out on both sides, the scent of barbecue wafted through the air, and everyone looked prosperous, not suffocated by that ethereal sense of order.
Here, you wouldn’t be arrested on the spot for making a mistake, nor would the lack of fairness disrupt order.
Combining life with order—this was probably the true method for stability.
If one merely suppressed people’s true nature without teaching them how to change, then even the most rigid order would be useless.
This was Sui Ming’s opinion.
Sometimes, extreme white alone couldn’t maintain stability; instead, it required the fusion and mutual restraint of black and white to achieve balance and stability.
“Hey! Little girl with no parents! What? You see me, your big brother, and you’re not even saying hello?”
In an unknown alley, several teenagers surrounded a cowering blue-haired girl, trapping her in the alley.
“Brother Ban… she seems to be the former king’s only daughter… wouldn’t we be…?”
“Ha? Are you telling me I need to fear an orphan whose parents are thoroughly dead? What a joke!” the teenager named Banner-Alas roared, then kicked the girl.
“Ah!” The girl reacted too slowly and was kicked to the ground, mud staining her fair face, and her light blue Lolita dress had several tears.
A few tears slipped from the corners of her eyes, falling to the ground and splashing, clearly indicating that this wasn’t the first or second time this had happened.
Ever since her parents went missing on the Abyssal Battlefield, she had been alone in this world.
Yet, this world still refused to let her go.
The radical faction, led by Duke Alas, continuously exerted pressure, stating that for the stability of the nation, a new monarch must be re-elected.
Meanwhile, Hister’s conservative party fought desperately, but ultimately showed signs of decline.
And the girl caught in the middle became the most convenient outlet for those radicals’ frustrations.
A powerless, once high-and-mighty imperial princess—could there be a better target for bullying?
Due to the fact that the judgment of order didn’t apply to children, these bullies became even more rampant.
“Look, isn’t this the once high-and-mighty Princess? So, someone like her actually has days like this?” Banner grabbed the girl’s hair, pulling her up.
“Why? Why do we need to pledge allegiance to a lowly wretch like you? Why?”
“Without your esteemed parents… you’re nothing!”
The teenager raised his foot, preparing to kick her.
And in that instant, a figure firmly grabbed his calf.
“Scram.”
Boundless killing intent erupted, as if even time had stood still, and the temperature of the entire space instantly dropped significantly.
With just one word, Banner’s other little followers scattered and fled, leaving him alone to endure this endless killing intent.
“You… who are you?” Banner asked timidly.
“Oh? Who am I? Just an observer unwilling to see a girl cry!”
Without the slightest hesitation, Sui Ming threw a punch. Despite his seemingly frail body, he unleashed unparalleled strength.
Under this punch, the Duke’s son flew backward like a sack of sand, smashing directly into the wall and losing consciousness.
“You… who are you?” the girl asked timidly, looking at the white-haired teenager who had entered her life like the sun.
“Hello, Miss Bailuoxia. From today onward, I will be your teacher. My name is Sui Ming. Please take care of me from now on.”
The young man extended his hand, looking gently at the girl on the ground.
He didn’t know why, but such a phrase suddenly popped into Sui Ming’s mind, but at least it was a way to make her trust him, wasn’t it?
“You… hello… Teacher Sui Ming… My name is Bailuoxia… It’s a pleasure to meet you…”
The girl suddenly burst into tears, large drops falling freely.
This belated dawn was too precious for her; nothing in this world could compare to it.
Sui Ming gently supported Bailuoxia’s arm, lifting her from the ground and holding her back with both hands.
Seeing this, Bailuoxia’s cheeks couldn’t help but flush crimson.
“This… this…”
It was as if substantial smoke was about to burst from her head.
Bailuoxia was carried in a princess carry by Sui Ming for a distance. Although passersby gave them somewhat surprised looks, Sui Ming couldn’t care less.
“How are you? Did it hurt just now?”
“Mm-hm…” The girl shook her head, but the light purple on her ankle was an undeniable truth.
“Sigh… if it hurts, say so. Don’t endure everything alone.”
“Goodwill exists in this world. As long as you are willing to speak up, someone will surely be willing to help you.”
“Mm.” The girl nodded silently.
Unconsciously, the two arrived before a magnificent and grand mansion.
“Is this your home?”
“Mm-hm.”
A middle-aged man with disheveled yellow hair anxiously opened the door, and his appearance was all too familiar to Sui Ming.
“The Hanged Man!”
“Uncle Hister!” the girl cried out joyfully.
“Xiaoxia, are you alright? I’m so sorry you had to suffer so much… I truly apologize to you.”
“It’s alright… It’s alright, Uncle Hister has already done so much, hasn’t he?”
“Oh dear… Xiaoxia, you…” The middle-aged man also looked a bit embarrassed.
“This is?” Hister asked, looking at the white-haired teenager holding the girl in his arms, puzzled.
“He’s Teacher Sui Ming. He saw I was hurt and brought me back.”
“Hello, Mr. Sui Ming, I am Hister. I apologize that my niece caused you so much trouble… I’m really sorry.”
“It’s nothing, it’s nothing…”
Although the man named Hister looked exactly like the Hanged Man, Sui Ming could clearly distinguish between the two.
But for some reason, neither Hister nor Bailuoxia had the slightest doubt about his identity as a teacher, as if it were his true identity.
“So… Teacher Sui Ming, would you like to come in for a visit?” Hister invited.
“Mm-hm… Teacher, you must be tired too, right?” Bailuoxia echoed.
“I would be honored.”
Sui Ming’s gaze slowly swept around. The setting sun was falling towards the horizon, and the bright night sky was about to arrive, yet for some reason, Sui Ming felt that tonight would be a sleepless night.
