Inside the Piano room? (2)

Chapter 52 • 1,597 words • 14 min read

Selene glared at Theron.
However, her sharp gaze was meaningless as the act naturally flowed, led by the skilled and sly Theron.
Theron’s hips quickened.
The moans coming from Selene’s mouth grew louder.
Even that disappeared when Theron kissed her as if he couldn’t stand it anymore.
When their lips parted, a thin thread of saliva connected them, creating a lewd scene.
“Selene…”
Theron, with his eyes darkened with lust, looked down at Selene, who was swaying with his movements.
“I told you… I hope you’ll think of this moment when you play the piano here.”
‘Is it that nonsensical talk again?’
Selene now knew that his talk of inspiration was just a ploy.
But his gaze was too sincere to reprimand him.
“Actually, I hope what you remember is not this act, but me.”
“…Hnngh, what nonsense…”
“I wish it were me, not the sound of this keyboard, that makes your heart flutter.”
Theron’s hair swayed, and a drop of his sweat fell.
“I don’t know this feeling well myself, but yes.”
Theron, who had been murmuring as if drunk, lowered his head and kissed Selene’s forehead.
“I hope the day comes when I become your priority. More than this piano.”
However, that whisper, like a drunken confession, disappeared with the roughened movements towards their goal.
Hah, hah.
Only their turbid breaths remained, echoing in the piano room.

Theron’s sudden knock on the ducal estate’s door stemmed from a very impulsive urge.
After his ambiguous farewell with Selene at the zoo, she kept appearing in his dreams, and even when he was working, she would flicker before his eyes, to the point where he wondered if she was cursing him from behind, holding a grudge for their argument.
Then, Theron happened to see a woman playing the piano through the glass window of a piano shop on the street.
She was a complete stranger, but he naturally thought of Selene.
The sight of Selene Ashcombe playing the piano like that was like a masterpiece.
‘I want to see her.’
‘I want to see Selene Ashcombe.’
Theron, who had been unconsciously repeating that thought, slowly closed and opened his eyes.
‘What on earth do I want to see…?’
‘Selene playing the piano, or Selene herself?’
Both were contradictory.
He wasn’t her lover, meeting her because he genuinely liked her, so why would he want to see Selene?
Besides, Selene playing the piano was one of her aspects that he disliked.
He couldn’t erase the thought that she was a hypocrite every time he saw her pretending to be serious about the piano.
Even though his thoughts had reached that point, Theron couldn’t turn away coldly.
He still couldn’t take his eyes off the strange woman playing the piano beyond the glass window.
The faintly heard sound of the piano keys knocked on Theron’s heart.
In the end, his steps headed towards a nearby flower shop.
‘If I want to see Selene, I should just go see her. Do I need to know the reason why I want to see her?’
‘Anyway, I haven’t contacted her since the zoo, so I should probably make up with Selene soon.’
But unlike his crudely made decision, Theron’s heart pounded louder and louder as he headed towards Selene with a bouquet of flowers.
‘When I see her, I’ll apologize first.’
‘For talking nonsense without knowing her well.’
‘If she’s still angry and tries to kick me out right away, I’ll even kneel. I’ve never knelt before anyone, but if it’s Selene, I think I can.’
‘If the other person is that queen-like woman who doesn’t seem to bow her head to anything in the world.’
With that grim determination, Theron had knocked on the door of the ducal estate.

“Mr. Cox.”
He had been hoping Selene would appear, but the one who greeted Theron was her maid.
‘Was her name Gwendolyn…?’
“I have something to give to Selene.”
This maid, who seemed close to Selene, would probably know the reason why he had stopped visiting.
And also that what he had just said was a clumsy excuse to get inside the ducal estate.
Contrary to his worries, the maid obediently opened the door.
“Hehe, please come in.”
As he followed the maid’s guidance and got closer to the piano room, the sound of the keyboard grew louder.
Finally, when he stood in front of the familiar mahogany door, Gwendolyn disappeared, telling him to have a good time.
Theron, left alone, took a deep breath and knocked on the door.
Before long, the sound of footsteps grew closer, and he saw the face of the woman who had been tormenting him in his dreams.
And yet, far from being resentful, his heart pounded as if it would burst when he faced her small face, which outshone the flowers.
Theron had to try to look calm, at least on the outside.
‘I need to get a grip.’
Although his visit here was a sudden act, it was an important occasion to mend their strained relationship.
“I’m sorry if my words hurt you.”
But without Theron having to make any other effort, Selene apologized first.
This was unexpected.
Very much so.
So unexpected that he didn’t even have time to hide his dazed expression.
Not only that, but Selene said she wanted to know about him.
Theron, though a little happy that Selene was asking about his past, refused to answer.
After all, the other person was a woman he had to seduce, and there was no need to bring up his shabby past anymore.
Even less so was the need for sympathy or warm comfort.
Theron quickly changed the subject.
“Do you play the piano because you like it, Miss Selene?”
At that question, Selene reacted rather sharply.
And for good reason; the piano was one of the few things they had in common, and at the same time, a sensitive topic between them.
‘Strictly speaking, I was the one who acted sensitively.’
However, the reason Theron was a little wronged this time was because he hadn’t asked the question simply to doubt Selene’s sincerity towards the piano.
He was just genuinely curious.
Whether there was room for another existence to squeeze into Selene, who asserted that nothing was more important than the piano.
Of course, it was a question that would yield no fruit.
The more he talked to Selene about the piano, the more he could only think that this woman was crazy enough to bribe the judges of a competition.
To Selene, the piano was life and soul.
‘What’s so lovable about that stiff instrument?’
Theron also liked the piano, but if he had to compare, it wasn’t as much as Selene.
It might have been different if he had continued to play the piano until now, but comparing the present, that was the case.
Somehow, his mood sank.
What stimulated Theron then was a single word from Selene.
“You remember the etude you played last time, right? Try playing it.”
Theron did not refuse.
Although he couldn’t agree with the statement that he liked the piano, the memory of sitting side by side with Selene and tapping the keyboard like they were playing house was not a bad one.
Above all, Selene, who was much kinder than usual and was teaching him various things about playing the piano, was precious.
It was just that he was overly conscious of Selene, who was pressing her body close to him.
In fact, as soon as they were alone here, Theron was engulfed in a lewd mood, but he was doing his best to ignore it.
He couldn’t show a bulging crotch on the very day he had brought flowers to make up.
That would probably be the worst kind of man Selene could imagine.
So he tried and tried, but the wall of desire he had built up collapsed with a loud noise at the sight of Selene playing the piano at his request.
Of all things, the piece she played had to be Carlo Lockwood’s ‘Red Rose’.
Theron couldn’t bear it anymore.
He succeeded in laying Selene down on the piano stool, using the excuse of inspiration while hiding his dark intentions.
Not only that, but various other things that were too embarrassing to mention had happened.
The lewd and lewd acts he had only imagined until now.
A lewd scene that made his lower body stand up just by thinking about it even now, after time had passed.
However, what remained in Theron’s mind a day, two, three days after leaving the mansion that day was not the image of Selene with her reddened eyes lowered, panting.
It was the emotion of that day.
The passion and madness that floated in Selene’s eyes as she talked about the piano, he had imagined what it would be like if Selene looked at him with those eyes, not the piano.
And he had wanted it.
He had wished it would be so, that it would become so.
At the sight of Selene playing the piano as if she were enjoying herself, Theron had sincerely wished for it at that moment.
That Selene would think of him when she was tapping this piano all day long.
That she wouldn’t forget him even if they couldn’t see each other for a week, two weeks, because of work.
Even if it was through this beast-like act of coveting each other’s bodies.
What was that emotion at that time?
Theron couldn’t define that emotion, which had suddenly swirled up so strongly, in any way.
