The Logistics Team’s Intervention

Chapter 53 • 1,457 words • 13 min read

He was the type to speak his mind without reservation. If he were to witness Chenxi bothering me, he would undoubtedly broadcast it to the entire class. At that point, no amount of explanation from me would suffice. My only recourse was to reluctantly compromise, hoping to broker a ‘nuclear peace agreement’ with Chenxi before Wei Yan’s arrival.

“Let… let me go! No… don’t, don’t… *meow*…” I bit back the shameful sound, swallowing it with gritted teeth. I tried to pull my foot away but it remained firmly trapped.

Chenxi’s one leg was wrapped around my right leg like a vine, while her other foot brazenly rubbed against my sensitive nerves. I glared at her, then mustered all my strength and roared, “Stop bullying me! Stop bullying me! *Meow*…”

My imagined deterrent effect failed completely. What came out, instead, was a weak, pleading sound—the kind a girl might make.

“Hahahaha… This is amazing… *meow*…” Chenxi hadn’t expected a boy to be so entertaining. She shot him a playfully annoyed glance, feeling as though he was utterly captivating her soul.

His voice was so gentle and endearing, a truly soft and sweet tone. Chenxi prided herself on her own charming voice, yet compared to Jiu, it seemed to fall short. Could this be the legendary innate loli voice?

Just as Wei Yan settled into his seat, he heard Chenxi’s melodious, bird-like cry. He turned his head to see Chenxi’s eyes, clear as water, filled with tenderness, her face beaming with a joyous smile.

Her slightly parted lips revealed two sharp little canine teeth, causing Wei Yan to unconsciously smile to himself. However, his expression instantly froze when he realized Chenxi was smiling at a certain boy.

“You’re Jiu, right? I challenge you to a duel. Hey, I’m talking to you, can you hear me?” Wei Yan glared at Jiu, his pupils bloodshot, radiating an air of fierce determination.

As Chenxi relentlessly mocked me, a barbaric shout reached my ears. I turned to see Wei Yan. I shook my head. “I don’t fight, and I don’t want to fight.”

“If you’re scared, then hand Chenxi over to me. I like her. From now on, you’re not allowed to touch her, or else I’ll beat you so badly after school your own mother won’t recognize you!” Wei Yan threatened menacingly, clenching his fists as if ready to strike Jiu at any moment.

“Don’t talk nonsense! Chenxi has her own freedom; she doesn’t belong to anyone. I didn’t touch Chenxi, it was…”

“Didn’t touch her? Then why are your hands clasped together? Do you think I’m blind?” Wei Yan watched their tightly clasped hands beneath the desk, his eyes burning with jealousy.

“I…” I wanted to explain, but decided against it. If I claimed Chenxi had forced my hand, he would never believe me. His declaration of liking Chenxi was well within expectations, as most of the boys in class harbored similar feelings.

“Hey, give me an explanation, or I’ll expose you for forcibly holding Chenxi’s hand and sexually harassing her.” Wei Yan smirked, intending to use this as leverage against Jiu.

He was keenly aware that Chenxi seemed to have some interest in this boy, but he absolutely refused to see such an ordinary student with the girl he liked. No school encouraged puppy love, meaning a simple report could separate them. Then Chenxi would be alone, and he could pursue her openly.

This boy named Jiu might seem a little cuter than him, but he lacked any masculine vigor and appeared to have no significant background.

I was truly angry; I had tolerated him repeatedly, yet he kept pushing. However, I didn’t forget what Sister had told me: ‘Don’t fight at school. If anything happens, tell me, and I’ll handle it.’ If he dared to hit me after school, I would hit him back. I coldly snorted, “My business is none of yours.”

“Our business is none of yours,” Chenxi echoed Jiu’s words, casting a faint glance at Wei Yan.

“You, you two… I’ll report you to the teacher right now!” Wei Yan cursed Chenxi inwardly, then stood up. Raising his hand, he shouted, “Teacher! I’m reporting this couple next to me! They’re hugging and kissing in class, making it impossible for me to study!”

Teacher Cangsong, who had been writing problems on the blackboard, paused, his scroll in hand, as the transfer student’s voice suddenly broke the classroom’s silence. He turned to face the standing transfer student, a flicker of irritation appearing in his heart. What was wrong with this Wei Yan? Was he deliberately trying to provoke him? Teacher Cangsong knew Jiu’s and Chenxi’s characters well; such absurd behavior was utterly impossible. He angrily commanded, “Get out.”

*Heheheh!*

Wei Yan nodded triumphantly, then told Chenxi and Jiu, “The homeroom teacher said for you two to get out. Now, immediately.”

Chenxi playfully stuck out her tongue, while I instinctively shrank my neck and hid my hand behind my back, as Chenxi was still holding it.

Teacher Cangsong was furious. Why was Wei Yan so dense? He enunciated each word slowly: “Wei Yan, *you*, get out.”

“Huh? Why me? Homeroom teacher, I’m the one who reported them! Why are you making me leave? That’s not fair, not fair at all!” Wei Yan yelled.

“Class monitor, deal with this according to class rules,” Teacher Cangsong said, glancing at Shahu Wu before returning to his writing.

Shahu Wu sighed and left her seat, walking to the second-to-last row. As the class monitor approached, the boys in the classroom collectively gasped.

*Hiss!*

The girls, meanwhile, all closed their eyes. In the past, students who disregarded teacher authority and disrupted class discipline were common. Yet, Shahu Wu, by herself, had always managed to turn the tide, restoring the entire classroom to a state of peaceful camaraderie.

“Class monitor, you have to believe me, everything I said is…”

*Thud!*

Without any flashy prelude, just a simple punch and retraction. Wei Yan collapsed in the aisle, clearly unconscious, blood flowing from his nose and mouth.

Shahu Wu’s voice was cold. “Logistics team, he’s yours.”

Two girls stood up and nodded, then each took one of Wei Yan’s arms and carried him out of the classroom.

Shahu Wu rubbed her hand and glanced at Jiu, whispering, “Our class has always been known for its unity and friendship. We severely crack down on anyone who tries to disrupt student camaraderie. If there’s anything you’re uncomfortable telling me, you can also tell the sisters in the logistics team; they’re very gentle.”

I nodded repeatedly, deeply grateful for the class monitor’s extra care. It seemed my weekly packet of spicy strips hadn’t been entirely in vain.

I hadn’t realized the class concealed various organizations. Judging by the calm expressions of my classmates, they were already accustomed to such occurrences.

What puzzled me was why the logistics team, responsible for maintaining class order, was composed of girls. Boys typically had much greater strength than girls, making it quite dangerous for the girls. I couldn’t help but worry for those two unfamiliar female classmates. Wei Yan was a rich second generation; if he ambushed those two girls outside of school, it would surely end badly for them.

“Huh? Shouldn’t they take Wei Yan to the infirmary? Why did they take him to the drainage ditch outside the classroom?”

I thought I heard Wei Yan regain consciousness.

“Ah, why is my nose bleeding?”

The drainage ditch was located right by the window against the wall, allowing me a partial view from my seat. I saw the two girls find sticks as thick as arms from somewhere, and then they began swinging them.

I couldn’t see Wei Yan from my vantage point, only hear his miserable howls of pain and the rough, booming curses of the two ‘sisters,’ sounding no less fierce than a burly man’s.

*Motherfucker!*

*Damn you!*

*You dare touch someone Big Sis likes!*

*I’ll break your dog legs!*

*So what if you’re rich!*

*A million yuan? Is that even money!*

*Come on, smile for Big Sis!*

*Damn, he’s even wearing red boxers.*

“Are these… really those two delicate young ladies? Is this what the class monitor meant by ‘friendly and gentle’?” I could only roll my eyes, utterly at a loss for words.

The entire classroom could hear such loud noises, yet neither Teacher Cangsong nor the students in the classroom reacted; they simply continued with their activities as if they heard and saw nothing. Only Chenxi’s voice beside me confirmed that this was real, that everyone was simply used to it.

“Teacher Cangsong said, ‘If you don’t treat them as human when they’re young, they won’t be able to act human when they grow up!'”
