My sincerest apologies, esteemed readers. By the time you read this title, this book will have already met its definitive end.
In truth, LamiMiao has had this premonition for two weeks now.
Yet, at that time, LamiMiao still clung to hope. In the review section and through notes at the end of chapters, I continuously appealed to all of you to keep following the story. To boost retention, I also consistently updated videos, hoping to indirectly increase readership by attracting new followers.
Every waking moment, LamiMiao toiled tirelessly, dedicating all my energy to increasing readership.
Despite my exhaustive efforts, the data I received from my editor today delivered a stark message: all my endeavors until now have been utterly futile.
From 204 active readers on the 18th of last month, the count dropped to 185 on the 28th, then further to 163 by the 2nd of this month. Despite a rising number of favorites, the ratio of favorites to active readers soared from single digits to approximately 17 (2760/163).
My editor’s seasoned judgment confirms that a ratio exceeding 10 invariably signifies more readers being lost than gained. This is an established conclusion based on experience.
Books with such disheartening statistics rarely receive further recommendations, making it nearly impossible to gain the necessary traffic.
In other words, it’s a slow, agonizing death.
For this book, that state has persisted for nearly half a month now.
Perhaps some of you, my esteemed readers, intended to ‘hoard’ chapters, waiting for more to accumulate before diving in. However, this segment of readers cannot be quantified by data, and the editor’s system uniformly categorizes them as lost readers—those who favorited the book only to forget about it.
To these readers, LamiMiao owes a profound apology.
It must all be LamiMiao’s fault for writing so poorly. I failed to capture your interest, to make you willing to spare a moment each day to choose my book to pass the time. Perhaps, for many of you, reading LamiMiao’s work was even a drain on your energy.
Truly, LamiMiao is quite an uninteresting person…
LamiMiao desperately wanted to persevere, but I truly cannot continue. Witnessing the daily feedback for my efforts dwindle and the results for my videos remain unsatisfactory, I began to suffer sleepless night after sleepless night. Those esteemed readers who have joined my group might even know that LamiMiao has recently started taking sleeping pills…
Writing each chapter became increasingly agonizing, fueled by the fear of not receiving your feedback. Perhaps those esteemed readers who often left comments and critiques would know: LamiMiao would frequently monitor them intensely, eager to leave the first like.
But lately, even that kind of feedback has diminished. LamiMiao has gradually withered, and my mental state has become increasingly concerning.
My constant pleas for continuous readership before, perhaps that was my spirit desperately crying for help. LamiMiao, much like Liuxia, is an incredibly insecure person. It was only through the unwavering support of you, my esteemed readers, that I’ve been able to come this far. But now, LamiMiao feels that I truly cannot go on.
I am utterly… burned out.
Many readers who temporarily stepped away will likely only see this chapter much later, I imagine. They will surely be deeply disappointed in LamiMiao, won’t they? My sincerest apologies, everyone…
I am so, so sorry. My deepest apologies. I am truly sorry.
