Lettia’s getting married?
To who?
Don’t tell me it’s that sneaky little cat?
But they don’t even like each other — why would they get married?
Could it be they’re lying to me?
No way.
Lady Karina would never approve of such a lie.
Lettia should know that Lady Karina has very strict discipline.
Then… could it be true?
Is that why Karina hasn’t responded — because Lettia found someone else?
What the heck, so the clown here was me all along?
“Bang!” Mila slammed the table hard.
“I absolutely won’t agree to this!”
“This doesn’t really have anything to do with you, does it?” Lettia said in confusion.
“I know you like me, but love has to go both ways.
I don’t have any feelings for you, and I’m sorry to disappoint you — but I can’t go against my conscience.”
“That’s not what I mean!
I’m saying, you two clearly don’t even get along — why force yourselves to get married?
You won’t be happy that way!”
“Who said that?
We get along great.”
Lettia looked pleadingly at Lily, who nodded nervously in agreement.
“Yeah!
Lettia and I get along really well!”
“Bang!” Mila slapped the table again.
“Like hell you do!
Prove it to me!”
“How are we supposed to prove that…”
That question stumped Mila too.
How do you prove love?
These two clearly planned this in advance — even if she asked them to hug or act intimate, they’d probably do it without flinching.
“You foxes have sharp noses, right?
You should be able to smell my scent on Lily.
Last night we were all over each other, couldn’t keep our hands off—”
“Wha—ahhh!” Lily shouted, her face burning red.
“Wh-What are you saying, Lettia!?”
“Lettia-mama and Lily-mama are always sticking together!”
“No—no!
Kids shouldn’t be talking about that kind of thing!”
“How can I prove just how much Lily loves me…”
Lettia held her face in her hands, thinking hard.
Somehow, this all felt familiar.
Not long ago, when Karina had visited the cave, Lily had thrown herself into Karina’s arms, crying dramatically and blurting out, “She said she loves me — she loves me so much I can’t stand it!
Mother, I’m so embarrassed!”
Lettia clenched her fists, veins bulging on her forehead.
“Lettia said she’d give me shoulder massages every day!~”
The veins on Lettia’s forehead thickened, and the chopsticks in her hand snapped in two.
Mila thought Lettia’s anger was directed at her and immediately broke out in a cold sweat.
“Mila, you have no idea how much Lily loves me.
She gives me massages every day, and she even sneaks over to kiss my cheek sometimes.”
“What!?” Lily’s eyes went wide, her face crimson.
“Oh my, my shoulders are feeling sore again,” Lettia said pointedly, stretching.
“Lily, shouldn’t you come and give me a massage?”
“What nonsense are you talking about!?” Lily protested furiously.
Lettia looked slightly awkward, then suddenly stood up, grabbed Lily’s wrist, and pushed her up against the wall.
Lily froze like a frightened kitten, trembling in Lettia’s arms.
“Th-there are people here!
Don’t touch me like that!”
“Because you’re not being obedient,” Lettia whispered in Lily’s ear, cupping her face.
“You wouldn’t want everyone to find out about us, right?”
“Why does that sound so weird!?”
“Just play along, or you’ll regret it later.”
Blushing furiously, Lily covered her chest and pressed her knees together, too embarrassed to speak.
She didn’t know what Lettia planned to do — but she was certain it would be indecent.
Lily couldn’t risk Mila finding out.
If rumors spread back to Karina, the worst-case scenario would be that Amy ended up in a single-parent family.
After thinking it through, Lily had no choice but to nod.
Satisfied, Lettia returned to the table, back still turned, and said dramatically,
“Oh dear, my shoulders are so sore!”
“Fine, I’ll massage them, okay!?”
Grumbling, Lily walked behind Lettia and began pressing on her shoulders.
She wanted to vent her irritation, but she underestimated the toughness of a dragon’s body — her strength turned out to be perfect.
Lettia let out a pleased sigh.
Mila’s cheeks flushed bright red.
For some reason, she found the scene embarrassingly intimate.
“Not bad, just the right pressure,” Lettia said blissfully.
“Mila, you can’t imagine — after every massage, Lily always kisses my cheek.”
“What nonsense are you spouting now…”
“Well then, hurry up and kiss me,” Lettia teased, leaning closer.
“You need to show Mila how much you love me, right?”
Lily’s face turned crimson, but Mila’s doubtful expression left her no choice.
This was for her daughter — only for her daughter!
Taking a deep breath, Lily reluctantly leaned in.
Lettia’s smug expression made her want to scream, but she couldn’t back down.
“Mwah—” Lily kissed her cheek, then turned away, sulking.
“There, happy now?”
“Not quite,” Lettia said, pointing to the other cheek.
“You missed a spot.”
“Don’t push it!”
“What’s wrong?
Don’t you love me anymore?”
“You—!” Lily clenched her fists.
“I love you… I love you so much it hurts!
Are you satisfied!?”
“Then give this side a kiss too, hmm?”
Lily had no choice but to do it.
She kissed the other cheek — mwah — and Lettia still wasn’t done.
She brushed aside her bangs, revealing her smooth forehead.
“Don’t forget the forehead too.”
“Kiss—kiss your own damn head!”
Lily snapped, throwing a punch, but her frail human strength couldn’t budge a dragon.
Lettia caught her hand easily — and then, to Lily’s horror, pressed a gentle kiss on her hand.
“There, don’t be mad, my dear princess.”
“You—!” Lily jerked her hand back, furiously wiping the spot.
“You’re so annoying!”
“See?” Lettia said proudly.
“Even when she’s pouting, she’s adorable.”
“Who’s pouting!?”
“Bang!”
Mila slammed the table again.
Lettia and Lily immediately froze, glancing nervously her way, thinking their act had been exposed.
“Stop hugging and kissing in front of me!” Mila shouted, furious.
The two exchanged looks — and then, in perfect sync, nodded.
So Mila really did believe them; she was just jealous.
At that realization, both turned away in mutual frustration at being so in tune.
“Mila,” Lettia said, “you’ve seen for yourself how much Lily and I love each other.
There’s no room for you to interfere.
The world is full of wonderful people — why hang onto me?
Go back to your fox clan and find a new beginning.”
“Heh, you think you can fool me?
No chance,” Mila sneered.
“Don’t think I can’t see it — something’s definitely off between you two!”
“Didn’t we already do the massage and the kisses?” Lily said helplessly.
“That hesitant look on your face is exactly the problem!
If you really want me to believe it — then go further.
Right now, in front of me — kiss each other on the lips!”
“Eh!?
K-kiss on the lips!?”
