Kefir’s perspective.
All that “the ruins are actually just a dungeon”;
all that “because that’s a mechanism only you can open”;
all that “once you defeat the strong boss in the final room, you’ll definitely level up—pah, break through!”…
These kinds of phrases that the conman Euclid keeps repeating every day—
even if Kefir can understand some of it, at most she only grasps a part.
But now that things have come to this point, Kefir feels that aside from believing him, there doesn’t seem to be any other choice.
That includes the “enemy” right in front of her.
The giant stone idol, several people tall, infused with magic, reacted to the intruders of the ruins with the most primitive response—attack.
From Kefir’s past experience, this was indeed just as Euclid had “prophesied”:
the last purely magic-constructed lifeform on this journey through the ruins.
It was enormous, fast-moving, and since its body was nothing but stacked stone and magic, it possessed armor-like hardness.
A creature of this level, even within the Empire, would be difficult for a sixth-tier practitioner to handle.
Even Kefir herself had no spare thought for Euclid, who was still outside—she could only go all out to avoid injury.
And this point, too, Euclid had “foreseen”—
【The next boss will definitely be just a tiny bit stronger than you. You’re amazing, it’ll be no problem, just treat it like a training dummy.】
The gleeful look on that guy’s face made Kefir even start to suspect whether her entire being, inside and out, had already been completely seen through by that conman.
Just thinking about it filled her with shame and anger.
In that moment of distraction, the giant stone “fist” was already crashing down toward her!
“So annoying, you damned rock!”
Her magic was almost depleted, but Kefir had already grasped the weaknesses and movement patterns of this so-called “stone giant” in front of her.
She retreated with all her might to evade its strike; the wind from the blow whipped her long hair and reminded her that the “end” was near.
“Guess I’ll leave naming it to that conman later…”
After that fleeting stray thought, Kefir’s sword raised a storm of ice and snow.
The cold winds swept over the stone giant, instantly slowing its movements!
Earlier she had held back against Louis the Twenty-Third only out of restraint.
Had she gone all out then, Louis would have already become nothing but an ice sculpture!
Next, Kefir’s blade swept across the frozen ground beneath the stone giant’s feet.
The towering giant lost its balance and came crashing down.
At that moment, Kefir ran lightly along the wall with a wall-step, leaping to its head and stabbing directly at the red magic crystal—its weakness and core!
After a final tremor, the stone giant—the “boss” Euclid had spoken of—finally stopped moving.
“Phew…”
Even though she had quickly found its weakness, facing such a massive opponent had forced Kefir to expend nearly all her magic.
She looked somewhat fatigued as she exhaled deeply and leapt down, scanning her surroundings.
Sure enough, as soon as the stone giant fell, the ground where it had stood split open, revealing a door leading underground.
And this, too, matched Euclid’s “prophecy”—
【Once the boss falls, a secret passage or treasure chest is bound to appear.】
Could that conman really know everything?
At that thought, Kefir suddenly realized she wasn’t as happy as she should have been.
Not because the opponent was too weak, nor because the process was too smooth and boring, but because…
it was related to that conman.
Yes, he really was the infamous Euclid of the continent.
But despite “surrendering,” he had been at her side constantly giving advice—
too much, too accurate, and without asking for anything in return.
At most, he would just hide behind her when trouble came, since he had no power.
Could such a saint-like man even exist in this world?
Of course not.
So Euclid’s intentions… weren’t they clearly related to her?
And as for what kind of “relation” that was—
even a child could guess, couldn’t they?
Kefir had been mulling this question the whole way:
Should she respond?
If so, how?
Matters like these were beyond her knowledge—completely outside her experience.
“Better search quickly and then regroup with that conman.”
Trying to calm herself, Kefir prepared to sheath her weapon.
But in the next instant, her grip on the sword tightened.
She had been a bit careless.
Focused on giving her all against the stone giant, she had only now noticed her surroundings.
Or rather—since the three scheming candidates from the Rossiya Empire hadn’t caused trouble these past days—she had grown distracted in her worries.
Kefir spun around, skirts swirling, and flung a dagger from under her dress!
“As expected of Rossiya—the shameless and domineering nature really hasn’t changed one bit.”
Waiting until she had finished fighting the stone giant before showing themselves—
obviously, they had come to “rob” her.
Kefir furrowed her brows.
“Come out, the three of you from Rossiya Empire.”
