Subtitle: In trouble? Of course it’s your trouble.
Yana’s eyes brimmed with tears. “Wuwuwu… You two bastard gods, let me go! If you don’t, the dragon clan will definitely teach you how to be gods!”
Once again dismissing the crowd of soldiers that had gathered to watch, Qiweiya strolled leisurely over to the girl. Even tied up in such a humiliating fashion, she remained defiant. “Oh? Still trying to act tough even when your dignity is on the line? If all dragons are like you, the Winged People would have overthrown your clan and taken over long ago.”
The binding ropes only served to emphasize Yana’s meager figure, and the sight of them sent her temper flaring again. “You moron goddess, let me go! Now! Or I’ll release that stupid, staged video of yours to the entire continent! Let’s see if you ever dare to show your face in public again!”
Qiweiya stomped her foot in fury, then yelled at William Turner, who was off to the side, amusing himself with the captured attendant. “You idiot, what are you waiting for? Get over here! This girl is getting way out of line! Don’t you know this is your chance to shine?”
William Turner’s brow twitched. ‘Some chance,’ he thought. ‘You know you can’t afford to offend her ancestors, so you’re calling me over to take the fall?’ Despite his thoughts, the old adage of ‘a sovereign orders their subject to die, and the subject must die’ compelled him to shuffle forward.
Seeing William Turner just stand there blankly, Qiweiya gave him a swift kick to the rear. “Go on! You want me to do it? This is a golden opportunity to curry favor with your superior. Think of the merit you’ll earn.”
William Turner was on the verge of tears. ‘Boss, are you trying to get me killed? Her dragon clan is a massive power. How could a minor executor like me possibly compare to even a single hair on their little princess’s head?’
With a sigh of resignation, he drew a vine enchanted with an itching and numbing effect. He gave it a single flick toward Yana, who was glaring at him with pure hatred.
*Swish!* To Yana’s astonishment, the formidable magic resistance of a Divine Dragon was completely useless against what should have been a simple, human-level spell. An itching numbness that seemed to seep into her very soul spread through her body from the point of impact.
“Ngh…!” Yana exclaimed in disbelief. “What kind of numbing spell is this?! How can it work on us Divine Dragons?!”
William Turner glanced at Qiweiya, who was watching him with a look of utter contempt, and felt his sanity points plummeting.
“Well, of course it works. It was designed to interrogate all sorts of races. Otherwise, what would I do if a prisoner from a race like yours came along? I’d be at my wit’s end, wouldn’t I?”
Yana didn’t buy it for a second, mentally branding him a pervert. “I’m telling you, if anything happens to me, your divine faction will have a full-blown war with my dragon clan on your hands!”
Qiweiya laughed. “Little one, you don’t actually think your dragon clan is the strongest race in the world, do you? We Origin Gods, who have existed since the dawn of creation, know that there are always heavens beyond the heavens. You’re far too confident. Keep this up, and you’ll be the ruin of your entire race.”
Yana’s gaze shifted to William Turner, who was snickering off to the side, and her anger boiled over again. “You! The weirdo over there! William what’s-his-name? Whatever. I don’t like the look of you, so you’d better watch your back from now on. Don’t let our dragon clan find out where you live.”
William Turner was baffled. “How did I get dragged into this? Hey! You think I’m an easy target? Is that why you’re threatening me?! Fat chance! Even if it means being hunted by your entire clan for the rest of my life, I’m going to make you pay for this today, with interest!”
Yana watched in horror as William Turner made his next move, and she began to struggle frantically. “Wh-what are you doing now? I’m warning you, if you put down that green, oily liquid in your hand right now, I’ll be the bigger person and forgive you this once!”
“Pfft!” Qiweiya stared in disbelief at the object in William Turner’s hand. ‘Holy crap! Isn’t that medicated oil? He must be seriously pissed off this time… Well, I’d better stay out of this. It’s not me torturing her, anyway.’
Though Yana didn’t know what the liquid was, her instincts were screaming at her, and they wouldn’t lie. It was definitely not something good.
Yana forced a fawning smile. “Lord William Turner, could you perhaps put that down so we can discuss this like civilized people? Our divine and dragon families are practically in-laws, aren’t we?”
“Ahem! What the hell? Since when did I become part of your dragon family? In-laws, my foot! William Turner, get her! And don’t hold back! Dammit, for Aqua’s sake, today I’m going to find out if a Divine Dragon reacts to medicated oil!”
At Qiweiya’s command, William Turner’s excitement surged. “You got it, boss! No problem, chief!”
“No… Stay away! Don’t you lift my skirt! Somebody save me! Won’t anyone save this dragon?!”
“Princess Yana! Let her go! If you have a problem, take it out on me!”
Qiweiya covered her eyes. “You all carry on. I’m activating my parental controls…” Her act would have been more convincing if she hadn’t left a wide gap between her fingers.
“ROAR—WHO DARES BULLY THE PRINCESS OF MY CLAN!”
Qiweiya scrambled away from her spot in a panic.
*BOOM!* Rubble and dust exploded into the air. As the smoke cleared, a Golden Dragon, a royal guard of the Watcher class, stood revealed.
Once the dust settled, the Golden Dragon saw William Turner lifting the little princess’s skirt, revealing a pair of cute, blue-and-white striped panties. In his other hand, he held a bottle of green liquid, poised to let a drop fall.
Its rage was instantaneous.
“God! You dare use medicated oil to torture the noble princess of my clan! Prepare to die!”
Qiweiya tapped the Golden Dragon’s foot. “Um, hey… He’s the one behind all this. It has absolutely nothing to do with us.”
William Turner stared at Qiweiya, who had sold him out in a heartbeat, and felt a wave of despair wash over him. “Lady Qiweiya! You can’t do this to me! I have served the gods! I have bled for them! I have fought the Void! I deserve credit for my hard work, if not for my achievements! Don’t abandon me!”
“Brother, it’s not that I don’t want to help you. Didn’t we swear an oath before? ‘Fortunes’ are to be shared, but ‘misfortunes’ are yours alone. I can’t break a sacred vow!”
William Turner’s mind went blank when he heard the telepathic message. ‘What the hell?’
“That’s not what we said! It was ‘share fortune and misfortune alike’! Don’t you dare twist it!”
Qiweiya coughed twice. “Ah, sorry about that. I, uh… changed the terms. This is the new version.”
Silence.
Sensing the dark aura suddenly emanating from William Turner, Qiweiya felt a pang of unease and made a new promise. “Look, if you can get through this, I’ll consider giving you a promotion and a raise. Becoming a CEO and marrying a beautiful, wealthy woman won’t be just a dream! See how good I am to you?”
“Qiweiya…”
A shiver ran down Qiweiya’s spine. “Heeey, Willy-poo, have you made up your mind? Look, Mr. Dragon is getting impatient.”
William Turner snapped his head up, a twisted smile on his face. “I think we should just die together! After dealing with a boss like you, I’ve got nothing left to live for!”
He threw his arms around Qiweiya and shouted at the Golden Dragon, “Hey, big guy! Weren’t you looking for the main culprit? I’m just an accomplice! This one here is the ringleader! If you’re going to kill someone, kill us both!”
Qiweiya was dumbfounded. “Holy crap! You’re really going there with me? Oh, great dragon, look at me! I’m so small, so pure and innocent! How could I possibly be the main culprit? Ahaha…”
The Golden Dragon roared. “Goddess of Ice and Snow, don’t think we dragons won’t recognize you just because you’re wearing an aura-concealing artifact! Everyone knows you’re the one with the most devious schemes! On behalf of our Dragon God, I will teach you, his bride-to-be, a lesson you won’t forget!”
As the dragon’s breath attack drew closer, a broken expression crossed Qiweiya’s face. “It’s over. I’m really going to be a guest of the dragon clan this time… William Turner! If I make it out of this alive, I swear I’m sending you to Nagornes!”
William Turner shuddered but then steeled himself. “Fine by me! If we die, we die together! Taking an Origin God down with me is a damn good deal!”
“How did I not see that you were a complete lunatic back then?! I must have been blind! I hate this! I can’t accept it!”
*VMMMM—BOOM!*
