Chapter 59: Escaping pressure

“Mollru is streaming!”

  • Calm, high-quality broadcast

Two days ago, after Jackie team’s gathering, Mollru, who had been at the center of many discussions, turned on her stream.

It was rare for a topic in an internet broadcast to last this long.

With so many streamers and such a vast range of broadcasts, unless something significant happens, it usually gets buried quickly and a new topic takes its place.

The public tends to shift their attention to more provocative stories.

However, the variable in this case was that Mollru was such a well-known streamer that no one could say they didn’t know her name.

Additionally, during her last competition, people became curious about her face due to the other exposed parts of her body.

In short, the conversation about Mollru’s face and personal details was currently the most provocative and hot topic in the internet streaming community.

Other topics were considered insignificant in comparison.

In this situation, turning on the broadcast immediately wasn’t the wisest choice.

Taking a break until the controversy subsided or laying low for a while was also an option.

However, Mollru couldn’t stand idly by.

It was too uncomfortable seeing thousands of people turn her teammate’s broadcast into chaos.

So, she decided to start her broadcast.

[Is the broadcast on?]
[You’re here!]
[This is crazy right now, lol]
[Come back later!]
[Clarify! Clarify! Clarify! Clarify!]
[Already here, lol]
[Turn on the cam!]
[Is this the stream of the top beautiful girl in the city, Mollru? Please answer!]

The number of viewers rose rapidly to an abnormal level.

Switch has a notification feature where it alerts viewers when a streamer they follow goes live, and viewers come to the broadcast immediately.

Normally, viewers would enter the broadcast after getting the notification, but in this case, the number of viewers in Mollru’s room was already greater than her follower count.

Just looking at the chat showed that it wasn’t the usual chatter from her regular viewers.

Unfamiliar viewers, who weren’t even followers, occupied her stream just minutes after it began.

As sharp comments from these unfamiliar viewers started flooding the chat, the usual regular viewers’ chats were quickly drowned out.

Even though this was a situation that could throw any veteran streamer off, Mollru stayed silent.

The only sounds heard were her occasional breathing and the squeaking of her chair, proving that she was indeed there.

When the viewers realized she was there, the chaos only escalated.

As things reached their peak and some viewers started criticizing her through donations, Mollru finally spoke up.

“Hello, this is Mollru, aiming for a calm, high-quality broadcast.”

[Hello! Hello! Hello! Hello! Hello! Hello!]
[Clarify! Clarify! Clarify! Clarify!]
[You’re casually greeting while all this is happening, lol]
[Is it true that you’re secretly meeting with men?]
[Manage the chat, please!]

“The chat… I wonder why you’re so upset. I don’t really understand.”

She had actually told her assistant, Si-young, not to manage the chat today.

She felt that managing the chat every day was pointless.

The broadcast had been gaining viewers continuously, breaking its own records.

Unless the overall atmosphere of the broadcast changed, this would likely keep happening.

Mollru decided to return to her roots.

She wanted these viewers to never take off their masks in her broadcast.

<Ironman donated 10,000 won!>

  • Clarify the secret gathering

“Thank you for the 10,000 won donation. Seeing the chat like this brings back memories of my first broadcast. I had a reaction game back then, where I would give a quiz and you would guess the answers.”

[Ohh]
[Are you really doing this right now? lol]
[What’s this?]
[Turn on the cam!]

She thanked the donation but deliberately avoided talking about the gathering, her face, or clarifications.

The viewers, furious about her avoiding the topic, started reacting in shock.

They had a feeling they knew what Mollru was up to.

“Since Ironman donated, I’ll give you a quiz about Ironman. Let’s see if you can guess. What do you get when Ironman is on the left?”

The chat exploded immediately with messages like “Crazy woman, why is she doing this?”

Mollru smiled, clearly satisfied by the reactions.

“The answer is StarCraft. Starc(ironman) left(left). Too bad, no one got it right. It was a bit of a tough one, huh?”

[Mollru laughing uncontrollably]

[She’s like a crazy person… but that’s what makes her more charming…]

[She’s really asserting control over these newcomers, lol]

[This crazy woman, what is she even saying? She’s avoiding responding to people, asking her to clarify the gathering story, what happened at the after-party, and how her face looks.]

[The chat exploded in an instant~]

No matter how fiercely the chat and donations tried to shake Mollru, the trolls quickly realized that they wouldn’t get the reaction they wanted from her.

It was like the fable of the sun and the north wind.

No matter how hard the north wind blew, the traveler only tightened his coat. Mollru didn’t reveal even the slightest bit of her true self.

<MySummerCar donated 10,000 won!>

  • Please share the after-party story.

Finally, as if surrendering, a kind message accompanied the donation.

It was a world of difference from other streamers’ broadcasts, which felt more like threats.

“Thank you, MySummerCar, for the 10,000 won donation. MySummerCar… well then, I’ll give you a quiz related to cars.”

But was that enough? Or did she really want to assert some serious control here?

Or was she just feeling nostalgic for the old days, wanting to host a quiz show with her viewers again? Mollru showed no mercy.

<MySummerCar donated 100,000 won!>

  • Please, I beg you.

After receiving the large donation of 100,000 won, Mollru finally decided to grant the viewer’s request.

“An after-party story? You should have asked sooner. It wasn’t that big a deal, but I intentionally kept quiet because I thought others might have already shared. But now that you’ve donated…”

Ignoring the frothing viewers, Mollru began to slowly tell her story.

The viewers who had praised the donor, “Yeolsa-nim,” and eagerly listened to her words, soon began to boil with frustration in a different way.

“I got lost and arrived late, but everyone was already there. I could have said something, but they were all such kind people, so I just relaxed. The restaurant was really good at cooking. Jackie had made the reservation. The steak and pasta were amazing. The wine… it wasn’t sour or anything, and the aroma was very…”

[Has this person always talked this much?]

[Mollru’s really going off, lol]

[She’s just stubbornly talking about parts no one cares about.]

[The host is the original villain, though.]

[Lol]

[Save me]

[Someone, cut her off with a donation!]

Mollru’s way of speaking was like dribbling a ball—enough to take people’s minds off everything else.

Finally, one frustrated viewer, with tears in their eyes, opened their wallet.

<OurDaeSikIsCute donated 150,000 won!>

  • Did the team members really get shocked when they saw the teacher’s face?

Mollru’s description of the texture of the restaurant’s tablecloth suddenly halted.

Like most streamers, when the donation amount is large, broadcasters tend to respond with enthusiasm.

Mollru was especially responsive in this regard.

She didn’t shout or show any outward expressions, but she usually fulfilled requests from viewers who donated a significant amount.

This time, it wasn’t much different.

“Face… why are you all so curious about my face? I’m not planning to turn on the cam, and asking me how I look… isn’t it a bit funny? How could you even believe how I describe myself? I don’t even know how I look. I never really look at my face properly. Do you all observe yourselves every time you look in the mirror? Oh, you don’t look at the mirror because it makes you feel depressed? I see. That makes sense. You even read that, huh?”

Better than streamers who don’t read the chat, right? So, how do I look, you ask?

A few minutes passed after the sound of something being set down, and Mollru’s voice came through calmly, as if stating an obvious fact.

“Just some eyes, nose, and mouth, and I guess I’m pretty enough.”

Of course, people were not satisfied with that answer.

They wanted to know the exact size of her eyes, the distance between her eyes, the tone of her skin, if she had any blemishes, and even the thickness of her lips.

But Mollru’s next words were completely unrelated to her appearance.

“Lastly, I’ll react to this donation. Why was the ice cream surprised?”

Her voice was casual, in contrast to the frenzied chat appearing at the corner of the screen.

“The answer is ‘because it was cold.’ The weather’s really cold, so be careful with the cold, everyone. See you on the next broadcast.”

With that, the screen went black, and Mollru’s calm, high-quality broadcast ended.

Next episode coming soon.
