Chapter 6: The Falling Leaf’s Dance

Amidst the confusion, someone asked:

[Just how strong is this guy exactly?]

It was a pure question, untainted by anger.

A viewer who had never played the game before genuinely wanted to know.

The sudden question caused the previously chaotic chat to pause for a moment.

[So, this guy… Seyul, was it? He looks insanely strong too. Why is everyone saying he absolutely can’t win?]

[Because the difference in stats is too overwhelming.]

[Yeah, but I don’t get just how big that difference is. Can someone put it into perspective?]

[To put it simply, he’s basically a walking tank.]

A bold statement that might have seemed exaggerated. Yet, no one refuted it.

Only those unfamiliar with the game found it hard to believe.

[Seriously?]

[The stats of the Orc Captain, a low-tier monster capable of using magic, are roughly as follows:]

[Strength: Can lift half a ton over his head.]

[Speed: Moves at over 100 km/h, with attack speed to match.]

[Defense: Can take a hit from a real-world anti-materiel sniper rifle and only feel pain.]

This wasn’t an exaggeration.

These stats came straight from the official developer’s lore.

[That strong?!]

[He’s an actual monster.]

[And this is just an early-game boss?]

Those unfamiliar with the game were genuinely shocked.

And dumbfounded at the same time.

[Then what about Seyul, who’s fighting toe-to-toe with this beast?]

A battle between a walking tank and Seyul, who was keeping up without breaking a sweat.

“HAAH!!!”

The Orc Captain let out a fierce war cry.

With a scream that was almost a shriek, he swung his axe down, carving deep into the ground.

The sheer force of his swing made it seem like a landmine had exploded.

Not only was he this powerful, but his attack speed was just as monstrous.

It was like having arrows shot at you from point-blank range an attack speed that no human should be able to dodge.

And yet.

Seyul effortlessly evaded every single strike.

If it were a normal human, they wouldn’t even have registered what had happened before getting cleaved in half.

A single swing wasn’t just fatal it was enough to obliterate a body completely.

The Orc Captain unleashed a relentless barrage of such deadly strikes at blinding speed.

But none of them landed.

Despite the fact that the Orc Captain was objectively faster.

Somehow, whenever he came to his senses, Seyul had already moved a step ahead.

A seemingly ordinary girl, weighed down by heavy chains, was outmaneuvering him.

[Wait, is this some kind of hidden advanced technique in the game?]

[I have no idea. This is terrifying…]

Even veteran players who had been playing since the game’s release were speechless.

[Holy shit!]

[The first-person view is insane!]

The game had both third-person and first-person camera modes.

Some viewers had switched to first-person mode to get a closer look and immediately regretted it.

[The Orc Captain is literally flickering in and out of existence.]

[It’s like he’s teleporting.]

[One second he’s gone, and then BAM there’s an axe smashing into the ground right in front of me.]

[Seeing this up close is going to give me a heart attack!]

Unintentionally, the viewers had subjected themselves to a horror experience.

[Wait… Was the Orc Captain always this fast?]

[No, it’s because Seyul’s stats are trash.]

[Since he didn’t accept the god’s power, all his stats are at the lowest possible level.]

[Enemy speed is adjusted based on the player’s stats, and since his are so low…]

[That’s why everything looks insanely fast to us.]

Even the viewers who understood the mechanics found this puzzling.

That’s right. The enemy’s speed was dynamically adjusted based on the player’s capabilities.

Which meant that in Seyul’s perspective, the Orc Captain was moving at blinding speed as well.

So how on earth was he managing to dodge attacks he shouldn’t even be able to see?

[Now that I think about it… Could he be a Hunter?]

As everyone speculated, someone casually dropped a question into the chat.

A lot had changed while Seyul was in another world.

The first major change was the rise of full-dive VR games like this one.

The second was the emergence of Hunters and monsters.

One day, the world was suddenly introduced to beings called Destroyers.

Monsters impervious to modern weapons had appeared out of nowhere.

The only beings capable of defeating them were the Hunters.

Unlike the monsters in the game, these were real-life superhumans.

The sudden mention of Hunters left the viewers bewildered.

[Why are we suddenly talking about Hunters?]

[No, just look at what this kid is doing.]

[How can someone fight this well and still be a regular person?]

[The way they wield that spear it’s not something you learn overnight.]

[This isn’t just the game’s mechanics at play. That movement looks real. Is there anyone like this in reality?]

[Even their appearance doesn’t seem normal.]

[If someone hunts monsters in real life, they’d probably fight like this in the game too.]

A sudden debate over whether Seyul was a Hunter broke out.

Of course, Seyul wasn’t one.

In fact, he had been avoiding Hunters all this time.

After returning, he had locked himself inside his house, partially because of them.

He had no idea how these so-called monster hunters would react upon meeting a non-human like himself.

And yet, to the viewers, the idea seemed plausible.

[No way a regular person moves like that.]

[What if he’s planning to debut as a star Hunter and is using streaming to build his audience first?]

[There are a lot of people these days who blur the line between streamers and Hunters.]

[I’m an active Hunter. Let me just say this I’ve never seen or heard of anyone like this.]

[Shut the hell up.]

[No proof, no talk.]

[Fine, believe what you want. Who the hell goes around proving their identity to random people?]

The chat kept spiraling away from the fight.

Not surprising, considering the battle was starting to feel repetitive.

The Orc Captain attacked, Seyul dodged.

Over and over again.

“This is your limit, huh?”

Even the Orc Captain was starting to get bored.

He halted his assault and sneered.

“I admit it. Your skills are impressive I can’t even begin to understand how you’re dodging my attacks. You might be the best I’ve seen.”

It almost sounded like praise.

But then, he immediately added:

“But in the end, all you can do is dodge!”

His glare sharpened.

“You’re so focused on avoiding my attacks that you don’t even dare to strike back. If you try, my axe will cut you in half before you even land a hit.”

“If you had accepted the god’s power, this wouldn’t have happened.”

” You could have beheaded me in a single strike.”

“Now do you see? No matter how much conviction you have, it’s meaningless without strength.”

Seyul couldn’t keep dodging forever.

Eventually, his stamina would run out.

And since the Orc Captain had more endurance, it was only a matter of time before victory was his.

So, he taunted Seyul.

However

“No. It’s not meaningless.”

Seyul didn’t lash out or react with anger.

Instead, his eyes filled with sorrow, and his presence carried an air of nostalgia.

The Orc Captain hesitated.

‘I used to think that too… but I was wrong.’

Memories of his time in another world resurfaced.

He had met warriors with ironclad conviction and refined techniques that pushed him to the edge, despite their lack of raw strength.

If strength alone was everything, then why did he never regret those battles?

“…I can’t waste any more time. I got too caught up in dodging and forgot to switch to offense.”

“What?”

“I’ll show you just how wrong you are.”

Seyul raised his spear and pointed it directly at the Orc Captain.

To everyone else, his words and actions were baffling.

[Huh?]

[Is he saying he was holding back?]

[No way.]

[This has to be a bluff.]

The idea was ridiculous.

Dodging attacks so fast they were nearly invisible was already an insane feat.

But now he was claiming he had been hiding his true abilities?

“You little…!”

The Orc Captain took it as pure provocation.

Enraged, he spun his entire body around.

A full-powered swing one that would completely obliterate Seyul if it landed.

“Fine! If you’re that confident, let’s see you try!”

“Gladly.”

Seyul shrugged.

Then, just as the Orc Captain committed to his attack

He moved in.

Instead of retreating, he charged straight toward him.

The viewers were left speechless by Seyul’s reckless action.

They fully expected him to be sliced in half the next moment.

“!!”

But the Orc Captain’s full-powered strike missed once again.

Even to the naked eye, the scene was incomprehensible.

When Seyul seemingly threw himself into the path of the Orc Captain’s axe, instead of being cut down, his body was suddenly pushed aside.

It was as if an invisible force had intervened, shoving him away from harm.

Then, just as inexplicably, Seyul reappeared in an unexpected position.

As he narrowly brushed past the Orc Captain’s arm, his spear thrust into the Captain’s side.

“What?!”

The Orc Captain was stunned.

His body was tough enough to prevent the spear from fully penetrating, but the attack still hurt.

More than the pain, though, it was the fact that Seyul had managed to counterattack in that situation that left him in shock.

“What did you just do?!”

[Is this a hack?]

The absurdity of the situation made both the Orc Captain and the viewers suspect some sort of trickery.

“Have you ever tried cutting a falling leaf?”

Seyul answered with an unrelated question, causing the Orc Captain to look even more bewildered.

“What does that mean?!”

“You probably know that it’s not easy.”

” The moment you swing your sword or spear, the wind pressure redirects the leaf elsewhere. And if you swing harder—”

“the more wildly it gets tossed around.”

“Exactly. In short, I became that leaf.”

The Orc Captain still didn’t understand.

Seyul sighed before explaining further.

“I let go of all the tension in my body and switched to a natural state. ”

“The moment you swung your axe, I allowed the force of your attack to carry me. ”

“Just like a leaf caught in the wind, I drifted to an unexpected position and struck you where you least expected.”

What kind of nonsense was this?

For once, both the Orc Captain and the viewers were in complete agreement.

[What kind of BS is this?]

[There’s no way a human body works like that!]

[Even if he’s small and light, this seems like a stretch.]

[He’s pulling off some technique straight out of a wuxia novel!]

Everyone was shouting that it was impossible.

“…Incredible.”

The Orc Captain was skeptical but clenched his teeth, still believing in his victory.

“Fine. I’ll accept it since I experienced it firsthand. But that doesn’t change anything. I still win.”

“Why?”

“As you can see, I don’t die from a single spear thrust.”

” You’d have to stab me dozens of times, and there’s no way you can keep using such a risky technique repeatedly.”

“Risky? Not at all.”

“What?”

“I can use it as much as I want. Here, let me show you.”

Seyul immediately demonstrated.

Once again, he dodged the Orc Captain’s attack in an inexplicable manner and closed the distance.

Then, in the blink of an eye, he pierced the Captain’s body and withdrew smoothly.

Seyul described himself as a leaf, but in reality, he was more like a flower petal.

With his delicate frame, shining silver hair, and breathtaking beauty, his movements looked almost ethereal.

Like a graceful petal fluttering in the wind.

The Orc Captain found himself mesmerized multiple times.

“Do you still think strength is everything?”

By the time he regained his senses, he was on his knees before Seyul, blood dripping from his wounds.

[Holy—]

[OHDI!]

The chat exploded with a mix of awe and disbelief.

Even those who disliked Seyul had no choice but to acknowledge what they had just witnessed.

Regardless of whether he was a Hunter or not, one thing was now certain:

His skill was the real deal.

Which led to a single, burning question—

[Why the hell are you playing the game like this?!]

[With that level of skill, if you had taken the god’s power, the Orc Captain would’ve been dead in a second!]

[You’re playing like absolute garbage!]

Watching someone this skilled refuse to progress properly was driving the viewers insane.
