Join the ServerLan Ruobing’s audacity was truly growing.
She dared to feign cooperation with her, all while secretly healing herself with water magic.
‘Perhaps I’ve been too lenient with her,’ Xi Xue mused. ‘It’s time for a little… adjustment.’
Xi Xue’s lips curled into a wicked smile as she provocatively surveyed Lan Ruobing’s trapped form.
The glint in her eyes grew increasingly dangerous, sending a shiver down Lan Ruobing’s spine.
“Xi Xue, please, hear me out,” Lan Ruobing pleaded, unable to endure Xi Xue’s brazen stare any longer. “We’re still in the middle of an exam. If we don’t return soon, someone will surely come looking for us!”
“Looking? Hehehe, Ruobing, you should be proud. Your Water Dragon ability is truly unique. Just look at its flight altitude; even planes can’t compare.”
Lan Ruobing glanced down at the world below, a vast, white expanse of clouds stretching endlessly.
They were far, far above it.
Looking up, the sky was pristine and boundless, stretching into the distant, pure blue.
The golden sun, dazzling and harsh, hung high in the firmament.
Planes typically flew above the clouds, but they had indeed soared far beyond that normal height.
Realizing this, she quickly commanded the Water Dragon to halt its ascent, hovering gracefully in the pure azure.
The dragon’s body shimmered, reflecting the sun’s golden light, appearing both sacred and beautiful.
“So, do you understand? At this altitude, even the armored vehicles of the Guard Squad can’t reach us. Who do you think would come looking?”
“But we’re examinees! They won’t just abandon us! Someone will definitely come!”
“That’s true. But only specialized fighter jets could reach us.”
“And it takes about five minutes for them to be dispatched and arrive here. Yet, we’ve already been up here for more than five minutes. Why haven’t they arrived, do you think?”
“Wh-why?” A sudden wave of unease washed over Lan Ruobing. Could Xi Xue have orchestrated all of this beforehand?
“I don’t know,” Xi Xue stated frankly, her gaze drifting into the distance.
“???” Lan Ruobing felt a huge question mark appear above her head.
‘If you don’t know, then what are you even saying?’
“Regardless, fighter jets could arrive at any moment, because the nation would never abandon its candidates,” Xi Xue continued, her gaze returning.
Her beautiful eyes then narrowed into slits, her smile dangerously sweet. “So, Miss Ruobing, you wouldn’t want anyone to come and see you in a disheveled state, would you?”
“! ! !”
“What are you trying to do?!” Lan Ruobing instantly grew wary.
“Spread your legs,” Xi Xue said, her voice slow and deliberate, a wicked smile playing on her lips.
“Or, let me bite you again. I won’t draw blood this time, but I’ll inject a heavy dose of venom. And you won’t be able to use Water Healing to clear it out.”
“Choose now. Do you prefer a physical method for your punishment, or a chemical one?”
Lan Ruobing pondered for a moment, then timidly asked, “But why do I need to be punished at all?”
Xi Xue’s face darkened. “What do you think? Playing so happily during the exam and then secretly erasing my marks, there’s always a price to pay, isn’t there? My arrogant, naughty little Ruobing?”
“Then… then will you… will you do it later?”
Lan Ruobing’s face flushed crimson as she cupped her hands over her mouth. “If… if it’s just a simple physical punishment, I accept.”
She looked away, blinking to feign composure, utterly embarrassed.
Xi Xue stared at Lan Ruobing, slightly stunned.
Had her ‘training’ succeeded? Lan Ruobing was already thinking about such intimate things for herself; she was maturing.
“Cough, cough, cough! What are you thinking?! ‘Do’ it? Do what, a hammer?! A few minutes up here isn’t even enough time for you to spray water!” Xi Xue lectured, her own face turning red.
Lan Ruobing’s cheeks burned as if they were steaming.
She forcefully slapped Xi Xue’s chest and declared, “Stop talking! I choose option one!”
Xi Xue looked at her in surprise.
“Spread your legs, are you sure?”
“Oh, two! Two! I choose two!” Lan Ruobing buried her face in her hands, completely flustered.
Xiaoyue Middle School, on the martial arts practice field.
Fifteen minutes ago.
“Chief Examiner, the two examinees are at too high an altitude. I recommend dispatching fighter jets to track and film them, to monitor their status at all times!” someone requested.
With a wave of his hand, the Chief Examiner replied, “No need. Given Xi Xue’s strength, they should quickly determine a winner. Just wait a little longer.”
Ten minutes ago.
“Chief Examiner, five minutes have passed. Should we send fighter jets to check on the situation?”
“No need. I heard they came together this morning. Good friends might drag out a duel, but it should be over soon. It is the college entrance exam, after all; they won’t mess around.”
Five minutes ago.
“Chief Examiner, we…”
“Call in the fighter jets.”
Now.
“Where are the fighter jets? Why aren’t they here yet?” the Chief Examiner asked.
“It takes about five minutes for a fighter jet to depart and reach the location. It might take more time to bring them back down,” a subordinate replied.
Captain Xianglan, with her golden hair and blue eyes, unable to catch the black-masked individual, ordered the traffic police and relevant departments to thoroughly check surveillance footage.
She then returned to the competition venue, instructing guards to strengthen defenses around the perimeter.
“What about those two examinees? How are they doing?” Captain Xianglan asked the Chief Examiner.
“Captain Xianglan, after they boarded the giant dragon, they ascended too high. I’ve already dispatched fighter jets to retrieve them,” the Chief Examiner respectfully replied.
“Oh? In that case, let’s wait a bit longer.”
Captain Xianglan was secretly astonished by the giant dragon’s potential.
Remembering the threat of the black-masked individual, she resolved to protect Lan Ruobing at all costs.
Just as she finished speaking, someone in the audience suddenly looked up and exclaimed, “They’re here!”
Everyone lifted their heads to gaze skyward.
A dark shadow in the sky gradually grew larger, morphing into a vibrant blue.
Then, the outline of a colossal, meteor-like dragon appeared in everyone’s vision.
Its entire body blazed with blue magical energy, tearing through the high-temperature airflow, trailing a long, fiery tail.
It plunged downward like a comet, a meteor hurtling towards the earth, threatening to annihilate everything!
Some people cheered wildly, overcome with ecstasy at the visual spectacle, while others cowered, screaming in terror.
The Chief Examiner and the panel of expert judges frowned slightly, turning to Captain Xianglan. “Captain Xianglan, it seems we need you to intervene! If that mass hits the arena, the kinetic energy will be catastrophic!”
However, Captain Xianglan waved her hand. “Don’t panic. It’s fine. Just watch.”
Everyone was utterly bewildered.
They exchanged glances, then closed their mouths and looked up at the sky in dread.
Captain Xianglan snatched the microphone from the host and calmly reassured the crowd, telling them not to panic.
The giant dragon in the sky would not crash, and if anything went wrong, she would personally deflect the impact.
Only then did the crowd feel a slight sense of relief.
Some who had witnessed the first ‘Dragon Girl Lan Ruobing incident’ also vehemently declared the dragon’s harmlessness.
Yet, as the giant dragon in the sky grew larger and closer, the sheer gravitational threat made people increasingly restless.
When the powerful downward airflow began to pour down, pressing upon the entire venue with an irresistible force, the crowd panicked.
The Chief Examiner panicked. The expert judges panicked.
They all pleaded with Captain Xianglan to take action.
After all, a quantitative change leads to a qualitative change. The kinetic impact of a hundred-meter giant water construct plummeting from the stratosphere was no laughing matter!
However, Captain Xianglan remained completely still.
People were dumbfounded. The captain of the guards was abandoning them!
If that hundred-meter giant dragon crashed, everyone in the examination hall would be pulverized!
Countless curses and shouts of disbelief surged like waves.
Captain Xianglan said nothing, simply urging everyone to brace themselves.
She knew that if she intervened with her own massive powers, she might accidentally harm Lan Ruobing in the crossfire, but if she didn’t, everyone would be terrified.
She had made her choice regarding which was more important.
Finally, the divine dragon descended.
People fell to their knees, recalling their lives with infinite dread.
Some confessed their love on the spot, some knelt to surrender, some wept in repentance, and others embraced through their tears.
However, the expected explosion never occurred.
The massive water dragon dissolved into a harmless, heavy mist just meters above the ground.
Instead of a catastrophic impact, there were only two soft clicks of long boots landing on the pavement.
Thump. Thump.
Xi Xue, cradling a weakened Lan Ruobing in her arms, landed gracefully on the ground.
