“Hello, this is Mollru’s Broth.”
“Um, let’s skip the greetings and get started right away.”
“Alright.”
[Is this guy clueless, or is he doing this on purpose, lol]
[He probably enjoys the host’s reactions.]
[Moll. Ru. Broth.]
[I concede… you win.]
With a soft swish sound, the PPT slides changed.
A rainbow-colored background appeared, featuring Bonobono.
I couldn’t help but think it would’ve been better to go with a plain white background instead.
“The game I’d like to introduce is Terrified. Some of you may have heard of it. Do you know this game, Mollru?”
“Not at all.”
[Check out that English pronunciation.]
[Broth studied abroad?]
[Soaked in butter…]
[Butter boy, LOL]
[Wait, isn’t this a horror game?]
[A horror game? LOL]
The slides displayed information anyone could find on Steam, such as the developer, release date, and price.
“That’s right. This game is a horror game. Even the title suggests it—Terrified. It means extremely scared or frightened. Earlier, Mollru mentioned that horror games wouldn’t be fun, but I have a reason for recommending this one.”
“And what is that?”
“This game isn’t just a typical horror game.”
Well, it’d better not be—because I wouldn’t bother with a simple horror game.
Why would I play a boring game where you just dodge ghosts with reflexes and clear objectives in the game?
“Terrified has a significant puzzle element.”
“The game is set in a school. Players must explore the school and find a way to escape from the ghosts.”
“As you move through different locations or uncover the truth behind the incidents, you encounter puzzle elements that resemble riddles. Unless you solve these complex puzzles, you can’t clear the game.”
He’s definitely got a way with words.
Whether or not he works in sales, his explanation was concise, engaging, and to the point.
But puzzles… Would that even be a selling point?
“Isn’t that just a way to pad the playtime of a horror game?”
“Sure, some games do that, but in this game, the puzzles are indispensable. They serve as clues hidden throughout the map, offering a more direct and engaging way to convey the story than just text.”
[Who is this guy? Why is he so good at explaining things?]
[The value of Broth is skyrocketing, lol.]
[Not everyone can be Broth, clearly…]
[Is he a game company employee?]
[Crazy hardcore gamer, LOL.]
[But why the Bonobono on the PPT?]
“And because of this puzzle system, the game incorporates not just physical but also cognitive elements. In other words…”
“You can’t beat it if you’re dumb?”
“Exactly. Recently, some casual viewers have been saying disrespectful things like Mollru is just a thoughtless streamer or that you’ve got an empty head. This game is perfect to shut those naysayers up.”
I flinched slightly.
It felt like he’d exposed the fact that, unlike other streamers, I don’t put much thought into my broadcasts. I’ve always run my streams however I liked, so I never really had to think too hard.
But aside from that, his explanation about showcasing both physical and cognitive skills intrigued me.
This game could help me reshape my image as more than just a physical player while also proving I’m not a coward.
[Disrespectful, impure naysayers—ugh…]
[Broth’s vocabulary choices are next level.]
[But can the host even handle horror games?]
[They’re deliberately picking a fight, lol.]
[After all this effort, isn’t it only fair to try the game once?]
“Alright, you’re in. Today, I’ll play Terrified.”
“Nice!”
Some doubted my ability to play a horror game; others assumed I’d get stuck on the puzzles.
But I’m not someone who cowers before intangible fears.
Nor am I someone who struggles with solving simple in-game puzzles.
With those thoughts, I updated the stream title and prepared to dive into the game.
Mollru is Live!
“Agh, don’t I have any new content… Something easy yet rewarding?”
A man slouched in his chair, spinning around lazily as he muttered to himself.
Having poured all his energy into a recent competition, Tex had succumbed to burnout and let his streams slide.
Tex’s Response to Mollru
Although viewers occasionally criticized him for his lack of dedication, people don’t change easily. Tex didn’t even bat an eye.
<Support from Fila! 10,000 won>
-Mollru is playing Terrified. Want to check it out?
“Terrified? She’s streaming a horror game?”
Tex, slouched like a corpse with only his earbuds in, sat up straight.
Intrigued by the news, he grabbed his mouse and began browsing live streams.
It didn’t take long for him to find Mollru’s stream, which was at the top of the list sorted by viewer count.
“It’s true. ‘Bold and Brainy Mollru Takes the Stage’? Not going to be easy—Terrified isn’t a joke.”
Tex muttered as he clicked on Mollru’s stream.
Terrified was a game he’d recently played himself.
It delivered spine-chilling fear, even to horror enthusiasts, and required a mix of creativity and problem-solving. Tex recalled the endless game overs—whether from sudden ghost encounters or unsolved puzzles.
While the game brought high YouTube views, he endured plenty of insults from live viewers.
Shivering at the memory, he muttered, “Yeah, that was rough. Can Mollru really clear this? Women usually steer clear of horror games like this.”
[Mollru claims she doesn’t feel fear.]
[Says there’s something wrong with her brain.]
[She’s such a badass she doesn’t flinch at ghosts.]
[Ghost-hunting Marine veteran, LOL.]
“Ah, so that’s why the stream title says that. This will be fun. I’ve found easy content—let’s check this out for a bit, shall we?”
Tex casually proposed the idea to his audience, knowing they wouldn’t refuse. He had no content lined up anyway, despite his promises to bring fresh material next time.
With no objections from viewers who generally liked Mollru, Tex grinned.
“Alright, let’s see how ‘Bold and Brainy’ Mollru handles this. Just a little reaction commentary… You guys won’t mind, right?”
And so, Tex slipped into Mollru’s stream.
He was greeted by an unexpected sound:
“KYAAAAAAH!”
A sharp, clean scream pierced the audio. Tex chuckled, feigning surprise.
“Whoa, my ears! Mollru, what’s going on here?”
The so-called “bold woman” was screaming in terror.
Why? What had changed?
This wasn’t the reaction Tex expected from someone who once claimed not to fear ghosts.
As she ran from a ghost in the game, Tex pondered the mystery.
It wasn’t exactly a calm situation, but he figured out the answer:
There was only one reason—her body had changed from male to female.
It might sound trivial, but here was his logic:
Ever since taking on Ji-eun’s body, his alcohol tolerance had dropped.
Specifically, his ability to metabolize alcohol had weakened due to a smaller liver.
If the liver had shrunk, it made sense that “having no guts” might follow.
People with smaller livers tend to startle more easily and lack boldness.
Even if they don’t want to, their physiology predisposes them to fright.
That’s why, despite knowing a ghost would appear, she’d screamed like a startled woman when one suddenly popped out.
Proof? While being chased by the ghost, she didn’t feel particularly afraid.
Calmly, she dodged its attacks with precision.
She explained this theory to her viewers, but it was met with mockery and laughter.
“So, I screamed because I was startled, not because I was scared. It’s just my small liver making me jumpy, that’s all.”
[Lol, sure.]
[We’ll give you that one.]
[Just stop explaining already.]
[Her earnestness is so cute.]
[Female streamers: always with the excuses.]
[I’m dying here, lol.]
“No, seriously! Being startled is a physiological reaction; it’s not the same as fear. And don’t even get me started on Korean horror movies—they’re all wrong! Dim lighting, creepy music, and then bam! Jump scare! Who wouldn’t jump at that? That’s not fear—it’s just cheap tricks.”
[Whoa.]
[Big statement.]
[A bold critique of the film industry…]
[Disclaimer: This opinion doesn’t represent us, lol.]
[I support this, though.]
“See what I mean? Fear and jump scares are entirely different concepts.”
Passionately, she defended her point to her half-listening audience while dodging the ghost hot on her trail.
To be continued.
