With a small sigh, I delete all of them.
At the same time, I mark them as spam and block the senders so no more emails come from them again.
It’s my day off.
Having successfully wrapped up the advertisement campaign for Envision, I decided to give myself a rare break.
But receiving emails like these first thing in the morning on such a precious day off?
I had checked my inbox just in case any business emails might have come from somewhere else, like the ones from Envision.
Instead, I ended up seeing something unpleasant.
This is why I hesitated to list my email address in the first place.
Lately, this issue has been getting worse.
When I first started streaming in this body — the moment people discovered I was a woman — unpleasant emails like these came in relentlessly every single day.
Over time, the situation calmed down, but then, after an incident where my chest was inadvertently exposed, my inbox exploded again.
That’s when I removed my email address.
Now, listing it again for advertising purposes has brought me back to this point.
In hindsight, the peaceful times didn’t last long.
It’s been only a short time since I started streaming, but I already feel like I understand the hardships of content creators.
If I’m dealing with this much, how many emails must other streamers — especially female ones who show their faces — receive in a day?
Should I just expose these people on stream?
The thought crossed my mind for a moment.
I imagined openly displaying my inbox during a live stream, revealing the email addresses of these senders, and saying, “Hey, you there, does it make you feel good to send messages like these?”
Historically, public executions have always been a source of entertainment and content for many.
Even as far back as the Middle Ages, people flocked to town squares to watch criminals get beheaded.
For those living mundane lives, such spectacles were a rare source of excitement.
So, as a live streaming concept, it seemed promising.
But I hesitated, wondering:
Would this really be a punishment?
Or could it turn into a reward for them?
Having spent years lurking on the internet, I’ve encountered all kinds of people.
Based on my experience, I couldn’t help but think that these individuals might actually enjoy being publicly scorned by me in front of an audience.
After all, just sending these emails already indicates they’re far from normal.
Their lack of empathy was obvious.
They’re like psychopaths who take pleasure in manipulating others’ emotions, feeling triumphant when they provoke anger or discomfort.
Their thought processes deviate from those of average people.
If they felt humiliation instead of joy, it’d be a miracle.
“Better not to engage.”
So, blocking them and moving on seemed like the best course of action.
If I were affiliated with a company that could press charges, that’d be a different story.
But since I wasn’t, there wasn’t much else I could do.
There’s a well-known adage: “Don’t feed the trolls.”
There’s a reason people often follow such wisdom.
After finishing the task of sorting through my inbox, I leaned back in my chair and began spinning around in it.
Let’s see…
I’ve already watched all the VTube videos, diligently liked and hearted comments, checked my inbox just now, and even went for a walk right after waking up.
During the walk, I met Si-hyun and her uncle-slash-editor, Kim Jae-joon.
“I have… nothing left to do?”
It was a rare holiday.
By 2 PM, I had completed all my tasks.
And now, I was faced with an unexpected challenge: having nothing to do.
In the past, I was neither a particularly organized nor diligent person.
On holidays, I used to sleep for more than 10 hours.
I would wake up, laugh at posts on forums while lying in bed, eat whenever I got hungry, and play Abyss.
But now, I can’t adopt that old routine.
First, this body simply can’t sleep for long periods.
Being annoyingly healthy, I’d wake up wide-eyed after just 6–7 hours of sleep, feeling fully rested.
That’s why I started taking morning walks.
It’s not a bad thing, after all—early mornings are a good time to enjoy fresh air.
While the idea was a bit annoying initially, I figured I might as well make the best of it and try living a healthier life.
Over time, daily walks became part of my routine, just like my old holiday habits.
So today, as usual, I went for a walk and completed all my tasks for the day, leaving me with nothing to do.
I thought about taking a nice nap, but I wasn’t sleepy.
Back in the day, this would’ve been the perfect time to play Abyss or browse forums.
But lately, Abyss hasn’t appealed to me, probably because I’ve been playing it too much.
As for forums, some weird rumors have been circulating recently, so I’ve just been keeping an eye on things occasionally.
“…”
Playing other games felt like I’d have to stream them.
And if I streamed, I’d naturally end up bantering with viewers and gathering material for my VTube channel.
That would defeat the purpose of taking a break, so I quickly dismissed the idea.
At this point, there weren’t many options left.
Taking a bite of a freshly delivered warm bagel, I logged into Twish, a streaming platform.
The number of streamers in my following list had increased significantly compared to before, largely due to a recent tournament.
However, since it wasn’t prime streaming time yet, none of them were live.
Hoping to chat and watch a stream, I scrolled down, only to find no one broadcasting.
Disappointed, I clicked my tongue and kept scrolling.
Even so, none of the streams particularly caught my attention.
I then filtered the category to Abyss, and a flood of streams appeared.
I couldn’t help but marvel at how many people were streaming.
At the same time, I felt incredibly lucky.
I noticed countless streams with zero or just one viewer playing Abyss.
Among them were people streaming with cameras, those without, and others showcasing their unique animated avatars.
While casually exploring these smaller streams, something interesting caught my eye.
-Haimi
“Abyss Newbie (12 days in)! Training to become a Camilla master! ♡ > u<)/♡”
“Oh ho…”
What a promising individual.
Not only was this person a newbie—already a plus—but they were also practicing Camilla?
Intrigued, I entered her stream.
“Ah, no! I clicked the wrong button! Argh…”
A slightly high-pitched but not unpleasant female voice came through.
On one corner of the screen, she had a virtual avatar, similar to a webcam setup.
The avatar mirrored her expressions and movements, showing how focused she was.
[Ahahahah]
[Dancing there isn’t going to help…]
[Haimi, nooo ㅠㅠ]
[Camilla isn’t for everyone!]
[“Lol, just blindly copying Kayak.”]
Why was my name being mentioned here?
The question was soon answered by Haim’s next words.
“Hehe, but I couldn’t help it. I fell in love after watching the tournament. I want to play Camilla like that too.”
“Well…”
This just goes to show how much of an impact the tournament had.
It’s incredible to see new players starting Abyss and training to play Camilla.
Feeling both pleased and proud, I began watching Haim’s stream in earnest.
As I adjusted my posture, a sense of satisfaction washed over me for having found the perfect stream.
“Ah, no, go away! Ah, I died again… Why is that old man so strong? Am I just that bad? Hmm, maybe I am.”
“People are so harsh on newbies.”
Her stream title mentioned she was on her 12th day as a beginner.
Haim’s gameplay clearly showed she was still struggling with basic controls.
It had that characteristic “newbie clumsiness” feel.
But watching a beginner’s playthrough has its own charm.
Unfortunately, the viewers in this stream seemed oblivious to the value of a newbie.
I was about to type some encouraging words in the chat when…
[“Just quit already, you dumb idiot lol. You’re trash.”]
[“Camilla? You think you’re Kayak or something?”]
[“A small-time streamer talking about Kayak? Don’t try to leech popularity.”]
“What the hell.”
The chat window rapidly filled with toxic comments aimed at Haim.
The sudden shift in atmosphere was palpable.
Haim’s voice trembled slightly, indicating she had noticed the hateful messages.
“Haha, leeching? Don’t say such harsh things. I was just saying that Kayak inspired me to play Camilla, that’s all…”
Her virtual avatar displayed an awkward expression.
The unprovoked hostility had clearly left her shaken.
“Why isn’t she banning them?”
[“What’s with that? Calling her a leech out of nowhere.”]
[“Some weird person showed up; ban them, Haim!”]
[“You can’t let things like this slide!”]
[“Haim’s too soft-hearted to ban anyone…”]
The other viewers seemed to share my thoughts, reacting similarly.
But Haim, ever the kind soul, gently tried to calm everyone down.
“Everyone, you’re too worked up. Please relax and enjoy the stream. Even you, TeamTeam, don’t get mad. Let’s watch the stream together.”
Her avatar smiled warmly.
Haim’s mediation brought a brief lull in the chaos, and the chat returned to discussing her gameplay.
“Hah…”
I could guess why Haim was acting this way—she didn’t have enough viewers.
Her stream currently had 17 viewers.
Of those, only five were actively chatting, including the person hurling insults.
To Haim, every viewer and chatter was precious, even the toxic ones.
That’s why she couldn’t bring herself to enforce strict moderation.
It’s the plight of small-time streamers.
Understanding her struggles, I could only watch in silence, feeling bitter.
“Ugh…”
On my stream, this kind of behavior would result in an instant ban.
How dare they use my name to stir up trouble?
I opened a notepad and jotted down the troll’s username.
[“Lol, it’s not even enjoyable to watch if all she does is die. How can anyone focus on the game?”]
[“The kind of people watching this must be losers drooling over a moving avatar, lol.”]
“That’s it.”
With a cold expression, I picked up my phone.
I loaded up funds for a donation.
Bam-bam-bam-bam-bam!
A triumphant sound effect echoed shortly after.
<CamillaLover has donated 50,000 KRW!>
“For 50,000 won, can you ban that person from the chat?”
