Chapter 64 Part 7: First Outing

At the same time that a huge sound struck my ears, a splendid flame rose across the black sky. It felt like time had stopped.

Amy’s expression, dimly reflected in the window, collapsed.

The aftereffects of the explosion came late, and the helicopter we were on shook violently.

My body swayed, my hair flying everywhere.

Shine and Rain’s screams mixed together with Amy’s cries.

Boom!

The continuous sound of explosions drowned out the noise inside the helicopter.

The explosions did not end with one but continued in a chain reaction.

Boom! Boom! Boom!

As bombs exploded one after another, the empty air burned and engulfed the helicopters flying around.

The helicopters engulfed in flames could not hold out for even a moment before they exploded in a huge blast, scattering black debris.

“Jeff!”

At that moment, Amy, who was looking out the window, grabbed my body and threw me backward.

Before I could feel any doubt, I could see a huge flame flying out of the window.

A massive wave of flames spread out wide, a greedy figure with its mouth wide open, trying to devour everything in front of it.

It touched.

That was the moment I thought that.

Amy’s fist extended forward.

Aslam.

Sometimes, Amy’s figure swinging her fist at the gym overlapped in my mind.

A single ray of light extended in a straight line.

The huge flash that burst from her fingertips melted the door of the helicopter and engulfed the flames.

Kwaang!

A huge flash engulfed the sky.

As if riding the flames that followed, the massive beast of light shot from her hand and engulfed the newly appeared helicopters.

Hwaaaaak!

A strong cold wind blew.

The cold air engulfing my entire body made me flinch.

The helicopter, which was swaying violently, did not give me time to correct my posture.

The fuselage was shaking unsteadily, lights bursting out from all directions.

At that moment, I was able to meet Amy’s gaze.

Her eyes shook anxiously.

I could feel the emotions contained within them: sorrow, anxiety, and regret.

“Amy.”

I called Amy quietly.

My tongue was stiff from tension, but I managed to finish the words.

However, the problem was that my voice was too small.

My voice was drowned out by the wind blowing in from all directions and the sound of a huge explosion.

“Amy!”

The situation was going badly.

The flash of light that extended from her hand shot down several helicopters, but all attacks began to be blocked by the huge purple curtain that appeared behind them.

Amy bit her lip at the sight of the curtain rippling as if it were covering the entire helicopter.

“Amy!”

I got up from my seat and shouted at her.

Rain, who was holding me, reached out her arm in panic, but I shook her hand away.

“Amy!”

I shouted again.

A voice bursting from deep within.

Amy, who had been staring straight ahead, finally turned her head as if she had heard my voice.

Our eyes met briefly, and I reached out to her.

There was a white bracelet on her small, delicate hand.

“Hurry! Let me go!”

Kwaang!

Another huge explosion occurred.

The helicopter began to tilt again due to the impact.

When I straightened my swaying body, Amy was looking at me with a bewildered expression.

“Hurry!”

Only I could solve this situation. I shouted with that meaning.

Amy, who had a hesitant expression for a moment, eventually reached out to my bracelet.

Click.

A small noise in my head.

The white bracelet fell off my arm.

Immediately after, all my dormant senses woke up.

Crack!

A huge flow suddenly began to run wild.

The blue current that burst out of my body shook violently.

There was no time. I couldn’t even understand the exact situation.

One thing was certain: the helicopters covered in purple curtains were attacking us.

If that was the case, then they were the enemy.

Me and Shine.

And the enemies who threaten Amy and Rain.

People who ruin happy times.

Very bad people.

Shine. Right? Right?

That’s what they did?

Was it because my dormant senses suddenly woke up?

All the surrounding situations started to flow into my head.

Cars passing under the helicopter.

Helicopters floating around.

I could feel the body of a huge airplane flying farther away.

The senses became clearer.

A tingling sensation on my skin.

I could feel the current flowing through the entire city.

Victor told me.

The flow is important.

If the flow is not constant, if there is a break…

I spread my arms wide.

Crackle!

Light flickered from my fingertips.

Blue current wrapped around my arms.

The pale moonlight faintly shining down illuminated Amy’s face.

She opened her mouth and started to shout something.

A hand reaching out to me.

In the slowly continuing situation, I moved my gaze to Amy’s back.

My nose felt tingly.

My head was spinning.

My vision was starting to blur.

Crackle-!

The surrounding sounds disappeared.

All I could hear was the sound of a huge electric current flowing.

Flow.

The pungent smell of metal began to linger in my mouth.

There were people like that sometimes.

People who named their abilities and practiced their skills.

I thought to myself as I watched them.

Should I try it too?

Lucy also used cute names for her magic.

Not a bad idea.

I clapped my hands together with all my strength.

Clap!

With a sound, the blue electric currents that had wrapped around my hands collided.

A faint shock burst out with the clapping and spread out in all directions.

“Jeff!”

Amy’s anxious gaze flew into my shaking gaze.

Amy’s hand that held my staggering body was so gentle.

But that wasn’t important right now.

I struggled to shift my gaze and looked up at the sky.

The widely spread heterogeneous electric field began to cut off all the flow.

The propellers of the helicopters flying in the air stopped, and they began to crash.

I closed my eyes.

The plane I could sense in the distance also lost its flow and began to fall down.

All the helicopters flying around crashed into the ground, and a huge explosion occurred.

Among them, only the propellers of the helicopter we were riding and the helicopters that had been flying together from the very beginning were spinning vigorously.

Kwaang!

The slowly spreading blue current did not disappear.

As the blue current spread out with the helicopter’s explosion, all the lights in the city disappeared.

Darkness began to rush over the city that had been filled with lights.

The lights disappeared quickly.

Cars that had lost power staggered and crashed into the side of the road.

The loud music was also eaten up by the darkness that had come late.

The widely spreading blue current faintly dispersed, informing me of all the surrounding situations.

The city, with its flow cut off, was plunged into complete darkness.

“Jeff! Come to your senses!”

What would be a good name? Jeff Thunder? Jeff Lightning?

I knew very well that I had no sense in naming things.

Couldn’t there be a cuter name? With a feeling of sparkling and heart-fluttering like Lucy’s magic.

I raised my hand and touched Amy’s cheek.

Her eyes, which had been shaking anxiously, filled with relief.

“How about sparkles?”

“Sparkles?”

“I combined surprise and sparkles.”

My tongue tingled.

Amy smiled faintly at my answer without saying a word.

She hugged my body tightly.

Jeff Sparkles. Sounds good.

“Not really…”

Amy’s feeble voice came from my ear.

She, who had been hugging me, slumped down on the floor.

A cold wind blew.

The sound of a huge helicopter struck my ears.

I took a handkerchief out of my pocket and wiped around my mouth.

The red stains of blood stained the pure white handkerchief red.

A faint sweet smell wafted from the end of the handkerchief.

I stuck my tongue out and licked the handkerchief.

Behind the pungent taste of blood, the scent of Shine and Rain wafted.

Beep Beep Beep—

My hazy mind began to come to its senses.

At the same time, a constant beeping sound was heard.

I slowly turned my head.

A pure white space filled my eyes.

Blink, blink.

I blinked slowly and tried to grasp the situation.

A soft bed and a faint smell of medicine.

A humidifier next to the bed and a constant beeping sound.

Hospital?

I lowered my gaze and raised my hand.

A thin arm revealed from under the white blanket.

Goosebumps appeared on my skin at the foreign feeling.

“Jeff?”

Jeff Jeff. My name.

I rubbed my forehead and frowned.

My head was confused as my memories were jumbled together.

“Yeah….”

Even so, I answered because of the gaze that seemed to be looking at me with concern.

“Are you okay? Does anything hurt?”

A gaze full of worry and affection.

Shine, with her long white hair, approached me carefully and asked.

“Uh… I don’t think anything hurts.”

I slowly moved my hand.

The pure white bracelet hanging from my arm caught my eye.

“I’m a little tired.”

My body was weak.

It was as if I had run around with all my might and collapsed from exhaustion.

But back then, if I lay down and rested, I could get up right away, but now, no matter how long I waited, my hands wouldn’t have the strength.

“Where am I?”

“Home.”

“Home?”

“Yeah. My home.”

“My home?”

Shine silently pointed out the window.

Outside the window?

Window?

I blinked and got out of bed.

My body was slightly swaying, but I had no trouble walking.

I walked slowly like that and looked out the window.

A wide, green lawn.

A tall, huge wall.

Bodyguards in black suits standing watchfully around it.

The moment I made eye contact with the bodyguard outside the window, he bowed his head and greeted me.

I waved my hand naturally and turned around.

“The house… is that the house Amy gave you?”

“Yeah.”

“Where’s Amy?”

“She went to prepare some food for a moment.”

“What about Rain?”

“Rain, too.”

I nodded to Shine’s answer and slowly walked toward the closed door.

A large, ornate doorknob.

I placed my hand on the widely spread golden flower pattern.

I could feel the cold metal against my fingertips.

Click.

I put strength into my hand, and the door slid open with a small noise.

I looked around, only sticking my head out through the crack of the door that was slowly opening.

A long, stretched-out hallway.

A fluffy carpet on the floor.

A gorgeous chandelier hanging here and there.

As I was looking down the hallway, I lifted my head at the sight of someone above me.

A man with a huge stature, broad shoulders, and a black suit, who gave off a strangely intimidating vibe, was standing in front of the door, looking down at me.

He lowered his head toward me, and while fiddling with the receiver next to his ear, he muttered quietly, “You’re awake.”
