The young woman reflected in the mirror was a vision of beauty and charm, exuding both gentleness and grace.
Her face, delicate and small, gave her the appearance of a middle-schooler, yet with a slight shift in the mirror’s angle, the captivating fullness of her northern hemisphere became particularly prominent.
Her flawless appearance, from her face to her figure, made her seem like a beautiful maiden who had stepped right out of a painting.
Indeed, she looked as if she had emerged from the very painting lying on the table.
‘Ermmm, something seems a little off…’
“Allow me to ask again,” Liu Wanqing spoke, her voice cutting through the silence, “what requirements did your client have for the coloring, specifically hair and eye color?”
“There were some,” Bai Jingjing nodded, “The hair color had to be cherry white, and the eyes, wine red… Oh.”
Before Liu Wanqing could prompt her, Bai Jingjing herself straightened the mirror, examining her reflection closely.
Indeed, the beautiful girl in the mirror was utterly adorable, with her elegant, cherry-white hair like powdered snow and her jewel-like, wine-red eyes, captivating in their gaze.
“But this isn’t right,” Bai Jingjing said, lowering the mirror. “The client and I don’t know each other; we’ve only communicated online. She wouldn’t know what I look like.”
“Is that so?” Liu Wanqing raised an eyebrow. “Pure coincidence?”
“Mhm… it must be a coincidence, I suppose.”
‘While it felt a little too coincidental, that was the only plausible explanation,’ Liu Wanqing thought, letting the matter rest for the moment.
Bai Jingjing, however, pondered it further.
‘This body I inhabit now isn’t one I simply grew into; it’s the power of a meteor’s wish. If this miraculous power truly understands all things in the world, discerning both future and past, and meticulously crafted me, then…’
‘Doesn’t that imply that, under the guidance of these stars, I, having become the person they would like, am destined to incite their lewd thoughts… ah, no, destined to make them want to cuddle close.’
‘No, no, I mustn’t dwell on this. Calm down.’
Bai Jingjing quietly declared in her heart, ‘My fate is mine to command, not heaven’s.’
“Alright, let’s get back to business. This painting of yours is excellent,” Liu Wanqing said, her tone calm and even. “It’s much better than your previous one.”
Bai Jingjing blinked, looking at her with a bewildered expression. “Is it really that much better?”
‘It shouldn’t be, right? While I felt more motivated and in better spirits when painting this one, the difference shouldn’t be so stark.’
Liu Wanqing closed her eyes, letting out a soft sigh. “Alright, it’s just a bit better. I allowed some personal bias to color my judgment.”
One painting depicted an unknown loli, quite possibly a romantic rival. The other was a portrait of Bai Jingjing herself, her own little girlfriend.
In Liu Wanqing’s heart, of course, the latter would unequivocally surpass the former.
“Come over tomorrow morning, and I’ll supervise your coloring. It should be finished within a day,” she continued. “Then, when you come next week, you can start on the formal plot, aiming to get it done early.”
Bai Jingjing paused slightly. “What about cultural classes?”
“For cultural classes, you can just do the practice papers yourself. You already know so much; learning a few more questions will be enough,” Liu Wanqing replied indifferently. “As long as you pass the entrance exam, that’s all that matters.”
Teaching cultural classes, Liu Wanqing could only interact with the papers, at most leaning in a little closer to look down at Bai Jingjing’s northern hemisphere.
However, if she were teaching painting, besides being able to gaze at Tuan Tuan, she could also hold Bai Jingjing’s soft, boneless little hand. The choice, naturally, was obvious.
Suddenly, a ‘ding-dong-dong-dong’ doorbell rang from outside, signaling a visitor.
“Teacher Qing, someone’s looking for you,” Bai Jingjing reminded her.
Liu Wanqing returned to her computer, pulled up the outdoor camera feed, and glanced at it. “It’s the student council president.”
‘Eh, the student council president of the art university?’
Liu Wanqing took a loose, casual house robe from her wardrobe, draped it over herself to cover her exposed fair skin, then rose to open the door.
Bai Jingjing also sat up straight, discreetly tightening her collar.
Since it was the student council president, her future senior, she ought to leave a good impression.
“Teacher Liu,” a young woman’s voice drifted from the doorway. “You took the afternoon off today, so the students asked me to visit on their behalf.”
“It’s fine, I just had some family matters to attend to, which is why I couldn’t come,” Liu Wanqing said. “Thank you for your thoughtfulness, Student Xu Shiyao, and thank you to everyone.”
Bai Jingjing covertly observed from the living room entrance as a beautiful girl followed Liu Wanqing inside. The tall young woman had long, slender, and straight legs that looked particularly striking beneath her student uniform’s short skirt. Her light, pale hair was tied in a high single ponytail, giving her an imposing aura.
She was indeed worthy of her reputation as the student council president: beautiful, dignified, and possessing a serious, commanding presence.
As the person drew closer, Bai Jingjing straightened her posture, preparing to make a good impression.
“I had some family matters today, and someone came over, which is why I took leave and didn’t attend class,” Liu Wanqing explained as she walked. “My apologies.”
“It’s alright, the students were just concerned about Teacher Liu.”
The two entered the living room, and Xu Shiyao’s gaze immediately fell upon Bai Jingjing, seated on the sofa.
Beautiful, adorable, well-endowed, obedient… such was her initial impression based on appearance.
Then she heard Liu Wanqing say, “This is my girlfriend, Bai Jingjing.”
Both young women in the living room froze.
Bai Jingjing had been about to say, ‘Hello, senior, I’m your future junior, I’ll be starting school in a few months, please take care of me.’
But the moment she heard Liu Wanqing’s words, she dared not utter another sound.
‘Well now, not even enrolled yet, and already dating the teacher respected by all the students, huh?’
Xu Shiyao was also slightly taken aback, but as it was Liu Wanqing’s private matter, she found it difficult to comment. The student council might oversee everything in the school, but they couldn’t interfere with a teacher’s romantic life.
The young woman quickly averted her gaze, pulling an invitation from her bag. “Teacher Liu, this is the invitation to the September Campus Festival. On behalf of the student council and all the club members, I invite you to attend.”
“Certainly, no problem.” Liu Wanqing reached out, took the invitation, and gently placed it on the table cabinet.
Bai Jingjing remained seated, not daring to speak a word, her beautiful little face taut and expressionless.
“Since Teacher Liu is…” Xu Shiyao paused, struggling to find the right words. “…engaged with such lovely company today, I won’t disturb you. I’ll take my leave now.”
“Very well, do take care.”
After seeing off the student council president, Liu Wanqing returned to the living room and saw Bai Jingjing pick up a water glass, chugging a large gulp.
“Are you hydrating?” she asked with concern.
‘Even without any lewd acts, she needs to hydrate? My little girlfriend truly is made of water.’
Bai Jingjing let out a soft huff. “I’m calming myself, Teacher Qing. You were… too direct just now! I’m going to start school in a few months; what if I run into that senior on campus? What will I do?”
“It’s fine, the school doesn’t forbid such things, and university isn’t middle school,” Liu Wanqing said nonchalantly. “I actually think it’s quite good. It’s a shame Xu Shiyao is a good kid and never gossips. Otherwise, everyone would know that the prettiest junior in the next batch of new students is their respected painting teacher’s girlfriend.”
