Exam Day Chaos and a Shocking Homecoming

Chapter 681,422 words12 min read

The situation escalated, and both sides even started fighting. It wasn’t until the student council arrived that the commotion finally subsided.

The student council members forcibly separated them, meticulously recording each name. They would face disciplinary action after their exams.

Following the incident, Liang Rumeng, her face alight with barely suppressed fury, rushed back. In her hand, she clutched a stack of test papers, presumably for today’s exam.

Angrily, Liang Rumeng slammed the papers onto the desk. She glared at everyone present, her voice cutting and cold.

“I was only gone for a moment, and look at the chaos you’ve caused. Who was fighting just now? Step forward, all of you!”

Liang Rumeng’s roar startled the students, who immediately lowered their heads and silently rose to their feet. She swept her gaze over them, noting there were about nine, roughly matching the student council’s count.

“Fine, all of you. You’ll take your exams standing up. If I see any of you sit down, your test results will be nullified.”

After delivering her intimidating ultimatum, Liang Rumeng began to sort the papers in her hand. Once the appointed time drew near, she divided the stacks and distributed them to the students.

Lin Yi took the test paper and quickly scanned the questions. The foundational problems on the front covered familiar topics, while those on the back required impromptu reasoning. There were no fixed answers; success relied entirely on individual judgment.

The teachers had explained how to approach such questions numerous times. Lin Yi knew exactly how to tackle them.

Despite his usual lazy demeanor, appearing utterly uninterested in his studies, Lin Yi retained truly important information with remarkable clarity.

Having completed the foundational questions on the first page, Lin Yi flipped the paper to continue his answers. Time ticked by, second by second, until the bell finally signaled the end of class. Just barely finishing within the allotted time, Lin Yi set down his pen and gently wiped the sweat from his brow.

It had to be said, the questions were remarkably well-crafted. Had Lin Yi not lived several years longer than these students, he genuinely doubted he could have answered them all.

After submitting his paper, Lin Yi settled back into his chair, gazing out the window with a hint of boredom. Outside, the large trees swayed gently in the breeze, sending a cool, refreshing current across his cheeks.

As he watched, Lin Yi’s thoughts drifted to the morning’s events. He pulled out his phone, hoping to see discussions on the campus forum. However, the forum was utterly silent. Naturally, right after an exam, it would be strange for anyone to be on their phone.

After discreetly browsing the forum for a while, Lin Yi made a discovery. He found no mention of his scandal in any of the posts, surmising that the student council had suppressed the information.

‘Their actions were quite swift.’

Murmuring to himself, Lin Yi gratefully put away his phone. A short while later, the bell rang again, and Liang Rumeng approached the podium with another stack of test papers.

Following the same procedure as before, Lin Yi first scanned the paper upon receiving it. This time it was a math exam, and anything related to the sciences was relatively simple for him.

After the exam, a weary Lin Yi returned home. The moment he pushed open the door, his expression froze.

On the sofa directly before him lay a sensuous woman, her figure exquisite, her curves graceful, dressed only in her intimate apparel.

A lazy tabby cat rested on her prominent white lace bra.

Witnessing this scene, Lin Yi rubbed his eyes, wondering if he had opened the door incorrectly.

Such an explosive sight, suddenly before his eyes, even elicited a reaction from his ‘little brother’.

His face instantly flushed crimson, and Lin Yi hastily turned his back, swiftly closing the door. Fortunately, the hallway was empty; it would have been quite troublesome if someone had been there.

Seemingly roused by the sound of the door closing, Lin Yiting rubbed her drowsy eyes and propped herself up with an arm. Seeing that Lin Yi had returned, a hint of confusion stirred within her.

“Xiao Ling? You’re home quite early today.”

Lin Yiting rose casually, and the sleeping tabby cat slid down to her flat stomach.

She observed Lin Yi, who still had his back turned, a puzzled expression appearing on her face.

“Xiao Ling, what’s wrong? You seem very nervous.”

Lin Yi’s mouth twitched uncontrollably. His nervousness, of course, stemmed from Lin Yiting’s lack of clothing. He was a physically and psychologically healthy male; turning to look at her again was an unknown risk.

“Sister, could you please put on some clothes before you speak!”

“What’s there to be afraid of? It’s not like you haven’t seen me before.”

The voice from behind him was melodious and enchanting.

Lin Yi’s head buzzed. How could he possibly resist such temptation? Instantly, a fiery heat seemed to course wildly through his entire body.

“Sister! Put… put some clothes on!”

Uttering the words in shame, Lin Yi covered his eyes and fled into the bathroom without a backward glance.

Seeing his reaction, Lin Yiting covered her mouth and chuckled softly.

“Why are you so shy? I recall changing your diapers when you were little, didn’t I?”

The words were loud enough for Lin Yi to hear, and hiding in the bathroom, the flush on his face deepened. He turned on the faucet, placing his hands beneath the stream. Splashing cold water on his face several times, he finally began to feel a little better.

Once the internal “wicked fire” subsided, Lin Yi finally turned and emerged. Forgetting to cover his eyes as he stepped out, Lin Yi once again saw Lin Yiting dressed only in her intimate apparel.

He opened his mouth, then closed it, hesitant to speak, before finally sighing and rubbing his forehead.

“Sister, we’re not children anymore. Can you please not be like this? Aren’t you worried I might do something to you?”

“No, I’m not worried. And no matter what, you’re always my little brother. How could my innocent little brother possibly have such thoughts about me?”

Lin Yi’s expression froze, leaving him speechless for a moment.

“Alright, alright, I’ll stop teasing you. How was your day? Did you have exams?”

Seeing Lin Yi’s amusing reaction, Lin Yiting couldn’t help but smile again.

Casually slipping on a jacket, she returned to the sofa and crossed her long, slender legs.

Lin Yiting was familiar with the teaching model at Xinshi Private High School. Typically, dismissal on exam days was earlier than regular school days.

Ordinarily, Lin Yi should still be in class at this hour.

Lin Yi put down his schoolbag, composed himself, and nodded.

“Yes, I have exams today and tomorrow.”

“How did they go? They shouldn’t have been too difficult, right?”

“They were okay. I didn’t find them as hard as I expected.”

The two chatted on the sofa for a while, after which Lin Yiting rose to cook in the kitchen. Lin Yi, meanwhile, retreated to his room and launched a computer game. It was the same game Li Yan had recommended earlier, and Lin Yi had found it quite engaging over the past few days.

He controlled the petite cat-eared girl, searching for supplies in a ruined city. After an unknown duration, as dusk began to fall, Lin Yi encountered a surge of zombies.

Fortunately, the cat-girl’s night vision and agility were excellent. Lin Yi maneuvered his character to hide in a tall building. From there, the view was unobstructed, making escape incredibly convenient.

Because the character Lin Yi controlled possessed feline genes, she could transform into a cat for a brief period. This ability would increase her chances of survival, even if she fell from a great height.

Lin Yi’s luck held out; he successfully evaded the zombie horde and returned to his base with supplies. Just then, Lin Yiting finished preparing dinner and called for him to eat.

He closed the game and walked to the dining table in a few strides. Seeing the spread of dishes, Lin Yi glanced at Lin Yiting with slight surprise.

“Sister, what’s the occasion today? Are we expecting guests?”

Lin Yiting rolled her eyes at Lin Yi, retorting playfully.

“Didn’t someone say they had exams? I’m making him some good food these two days, so he’ll have more ‘fight’ in him when his scores come out.”

Hearing Lin Yiting’s words, Lin Yi’s mouth twitched.
