‘Oh no, how could I forget the most important thing!’
Flora Haggia was utterly crestfallen as she left the dining room.
But upon entering the kitchen, she immediately shed her dejection, excitedly recounting the recent events to everyone.
This wasn’t an act; her disguise only affected her sense of shame and feminine movements, not her ability to separate personal and public matters.
In her mind, while winning Ryan over was important, it was a private affair. Her duties as a maid were public business.
She had been so absorbed in discussing official matters with Ryan that she’d forgotten her personal goal.
But there was nothing wrong with this; she didn’t want to abandon either public or private endeavors.
Especially when her public duties could benefit others.
However, even such a shamelessly bold approach failed to move Ryan… Flora Haggia still felt a pang of melancholy.
Could she really not resort to changing her persona again?
She hadn’t tried many personalities last time, but it didn’t seem reliable at all… though not entirely unreliable.
Considering Ryan treated her like a younger sister, Flora Haggia increasingly felt that Ryan might genuinely like young girls.
But there was nothing she could do about that; her ability, “Phoenix Rebirth,” couldn’t actually make someone revert to childhood.
Still, this was just a guess, and Flora Haggia had no proof.
Even if it were true, she had to make Ryan’s preferences return to normal and ultimately fall in love with her.
The next day arrived, and before Flora Haggia had figured out what to do, Ryan suddenly asked after breakfast:
“None?”
“Your Highness Ryan, is something missing?”
“I was talking about that game where you imitated other people last time.”
After a moment, realizing Ryan was referring to her changing personas, Flora Haggia was a little speechless.
He had been so dismissive back then, why was he anticipating it now?
Even so, Flora Haggia knew this was a result of Ryan treating her as a sister, which had significantly increased his tolerance.
So, after a moment’s thought, she turned her gaze away, her cheeks slightly flushed with shyness, and said somewhat reluctantly:
“S-stupid Highness, it’s not because you like it that I do these things!”
No, no, no.
Just uttering that sentence, Flora Haggia herself felt defeated.
After all those antics, Flora Haggia looked back and felt as if she must have been utterly foolish to do such embarrassingly stupid things.
So last night, she had merely thought about it; she had no intention of repeating any of it.
But since Ryan brought it up, Flora Haggia decided to give it a try just to see the effect… and as expected, even with her disguise active, she couldn’t overcome the immense shame.
Seeing this, Ryan couldn’t help but let out a scoff.
“Alright, no need to force yourself… I’m leaving.”
Flora Haggia quickly adjusted her bashful expression, entering her professional work mode—and said with a smile:
“Your Highness Ryan, have a safe journey.”
“Mm.”
Ryan responded, then left the dining room.
But this reaction wasn’t exclusive to Flora Haggia, nor was it new.
For the past few days, or rather, ever since Flora Haggia had been unconscious, Ryan had already started doing this.
Whether it was a maid or a guard, if they greeted him, he would at least give a slight nod in response.
As for more intimate subordinates like the old butler, his assistant, or Heidi, Ryan would occasionally say a few words of concern.
This was a significant improvement.
Successfully rescuing Mr. Fath had profoundly changed Ryan.
This was also one of the subconscious reasons Flora Haggia didn’t want to provoke Ryan by changing her persona again.
After all, Ryan had only just begun to open up to those around him; she absolutely couldn’t do something that might confuse him…
“Let’s try a different approach.”
However, Flora Haggia wasn’t one to give up when faced with difficulties.
Considering that the path of cute mischief was somewhat blocked, she decided to use a method she had previously disdained but now seemed quite suitable—making herself more like a subordinate.
Since Ryan treated her as a sister who could be mischievous, she would simply not act as he expected, becoming a workaholic who only discussed official matters, making her “sisterly” feeling completely disappear.
This method, however, was slow to show results, which was why Flora Haggia hadn’t prioritized it initially.
But now, with no better alternative, she could only work hard to establish a serious and capable persona first…
“Oops!”
Without paying attention, Flora Haggia stumbled again.
She immediately felt awful.
It wasn’t that she was afraid of falling, but her clumsy appearance would only deepen the “younger sister” impression… after all, no serious, strict, or dignified head maid would make such a blunder.
But this was beyond her control… even after her first period, becoming more and more like a girl, her control over her body hadn’t improved much.
She still stumbled several times a day.
‘Sigh, I can only take things one step at a time.’
Flora Haggia sighed inwardly, slowly getting up.
“Miss Haggia, what’s wrong? Did you hurt yourself anywhere?”
A gentle, concerned voice rang out.
Not far away, Madam Fath hurried over.
“Madam, I’m fine, no need to rush so much… This is common; I’m used to it.”
Flora Haggia quickly went to meet her, supporting her.
Although it was a natural birth, and only a week ago, Madam Fath’s body clearly hadn’t recovered to its best state.
Flora Haggia didn’t want her clumsiness to cause the other party an accident.
“You’re thoughtful. By the way, you haven’t come to see me for so long, I thought you’d forgotten about me.”
“I apologize, Madam, I didn’t mean to. It’s just that I’ve been so busy since I woke up…”
Flora Haggia saw that the other party wasn’t blaming her, but merely hoping for an opportunity to express gratitude, so she quickly replied.
After a brief exchange, and learning that Madam Fath was looking for the old butler, Flora Haggia quickly bid her farewell, finished her work, retrieved her belongings from her room, and then went to the annex to formally visit the Fath family.
“Miss Haggia, thank you very much for everything this time.”
Mr. and Madam Fath sincerely thanked Flora Haggia.
Although Flora Haggia was never very comfortable with such scenes, she knew that people who had been helped would feel very anxious and uneasy if they didn’t express their gratitude.
So, she patiently reassured them not to be so polite, while also appropriately showing a happy expression, making them feel that their thanks were meaningful.
After visiting the healthy baby, Flora Haggia took out the borrowed gown and jewelry:
“Madam, I’m sorry for getting your gown in such a state.”
“It’s fine, I have many others. I’m just glad it could help you… Please keep these jewels; consider them a gift from me.”
For the same reasons as before, Flora Haggia had already refused the money and other thanks they offered.
So, after a bit of back-and-forth, Flora Haggia not only took the jewelry back but was also led by Madam Fath to a room, who insisted on giving her another gown.
Unable to resist Madam Fath’s enthusiasm, Flora Haggia had no choice but to choose one.
“Miss Flora Haggia, you really like blue, don’t you?” Madam Fath gently remarked.
Flora Haggia was slightly taken aback.
She simply chose whichever caught her eye, just as she had done at the baron’s estate.
She hadn’t given it much thought, simply picking what looked noble and elegant.
But subconscious actions often reveal more than intentional ones…
Hesitating for a few seconds, she ultimately did not deliberately change her mind, but nodded heavily.
“Yes, I love blue the most.”
It was true in the past, it was true now.
And in the future… it probably wouldn’t change.
After leaving the Fath family’s residence, Flora Haggia quickly returned to her work mode.
As for the thoughts that had just arisen, they were merely private matters among private matters… she wouldn’t be affected by them.
If anything, it further ignited her fighting spirit to complete her personal mission sooner.
So, after dinner, Flora Haggia immediately cornered Ryan, ready to discuss serious business—
“Other matters can wait. I have something to tell you.”
Ryan’s expression was serious.
Clearly, he mistakenly thought Flora Haggia was planning something mischievous again.
“Your Highness, please speak.”
But this suited Flora Haggia perfectly; she seized the opportunity to put on a serious expression, until—
“Tomorrow afternoon, Miss Stella Arlos of the Blue Lion family will be visiting here.”
