Chapter 68 Part 4: You Are So Persistent

“Haa….”

A faint light flickered in the breath flowing out of my mouth.

The blue lightning that surged whenever I moved my body was escaping my control.

I glared at the opponent standing before me.

The power overflowing from my entire body.

The omnipotent feeling that I could do anything.

The sense of fulfillment that filled my entire body.

My condition was the best.

“What the….”

The person with the ability to speak took a step back with a bewildered expression.

I ignored him and looked around.

The lightning scattered widely across the sky was telling me about the surrounding situation.

My gaze, floating through the air, turned to where the white flash was exploding.

Amy.

She muttered softly, but her voice couldn’t come out because of the crackling noise.

Her situation was not good.

I couldn’t hear the sound, but I could feel the people’s movements.

Hwaruk-!

Red flames blooming right in front of my face.

My body reacted first to the rising heat.

My vision flashed white.

The shoes I was wearing burst and scattered in all directions.

Pachi-!

Speed that surpasses the sound.

The body flying into the air begins to fly towards the opponent who is radiating hostility.

The blue current that wrapped around the entire body explodes.

Boom!

The moment I fly to the opponent and collide with him, my ankle snaps.

Without even feeling the pain, I punch him.

The fist engulfed in blue current spits out a giant brain dragon.

“Huh!”

The opponent’s shallow scream.

Black smoke rising.

The faint smell of charcoal.

Kwarung!

The brain dragon that stretched out from the fist let out a huge roar and soared into the sky.

It missed.

The moment it touched the opponent’s body, a foreign sensation pushed its power away.

The brain dragon that missed flew into the sky and disappeared.

Between the white-tinted gazes, I could see the face of the man who twisted his body to avoid the attack.

His face was distorted in confusion.

A foreign sensation enveloped his entire body.

The brain dragon that soared into the sky was still under my control.

I raised my finger toward the sky.

Crackling lights burst out in all directions.

Pazjijik!

The roar of the thunder dragon swallowing up all the surrounding sounds.

The thunder dragon that ascended to the sky swallowed the dark clouds and grew in size.

The expression of the man floating in the air distorted.

The situation flowing slowly, the face that changed urgently.

The man’s gaze was turned to the sky.

I also raised my head and looked at the sky.

This time, I won’t miss it.

I thought as I looked at the thunder dragon that had become so huge.

The thunder dragon began to move.

Its huge body wiggled and its large mouth opened.

The blue lights that burst out of its mouth exploded in all directions, and the entire sky was covered with the dragon’s body.

Lightning Dance-

The giant thunder dragon that had been wiggling in the sky came down as if dancing and crashed into the ground.

This time, I thought I had chosen a pretty good name.

Even Amy wouldn’t think it was strange at this point.

Kwaaang!

A huge explosion.

The thunder dragon that swallowed the man floating in the air emits an even more intense light.

The ground shakes, and piles of dirt explode in all directions.

The place where the man was starts to melt and turn red.

I squint.

The ability didn’t hit properly.

A strange barrier spread out over the body of the man who was stuck in the ground.

A support item.

It was clearly a tool that assisted users of abilities.

It’s annoying.

I clenched my fist.

All the electricity that had been covering the entire surrounding area starts to concentrate in one place.

Kwarung-!

The blue lightning that fell from the sky stretched out and was caught in my hand.

The opponent couldn’t get up.

In the body of the thunder dragon falling from the sky, only I was free.

The man squirmed as if in pain.

I struck the lightning spear on his body.

An explosion of light.

The moment even the sound flew away, the barrier covering the man’s body burst.

With a refreshing feeling, the spear in my hand pierced the man’s body and burst through the ground.

Kwaaang!

An explosion heard from under the ground.

The ground around me exploded as if it was exploding.

The rocks and piles of dirt that had been flying into the sky fell down.

They mixed with the rain and scattered everywhere, dirtying the road.

There was no smell of blood.

The charred pieces of meat gave off black smoke.

I stared blankly at my feet, then slowly raised my head.

“Jeff!”

Shine shouted, holding Rain in her arms far away from me, in a safe place.

“Shine.”

I waved at her.

Looking at the expression on Rain’s face that had been distorted by pain, it seemed like he was okay.

“Jeff!”

Shine’s urgent voice.

A completely different face than usual.

Why?

Before I could ask her, I could tell why she was shouting so urgently.

Hwaruruk-

Fire.

Flame.

Flame.

The flames that had risen before my eyes began to distort and expand.

Ah.

The moment I recognized the flames, time began to slow down.

The lightning in my body began to move once again.

My blood circulated rapidly, and my heart thumped as if it was going to burst.

My hair that had been falling faintly rose high into the sky.

My body turned as if spinning.

I could see the man’s movements under my feet.

His entire body was burning black, but he was still alive.

Thump- Thump-

The faint sound of a heartbeat could be heard.

Beyond my white gaze, I could see the other person’s heart.

No, to be exact, the faint current that the heart was emitting.

The electrical signals that started from the human brain were sending commands to the entire body.

And now, I could read the flow of the electric signal.

I spread my hands wide to the sides.

My body, wrapped in blue current, could move at a speed that surpassed sound.

Just like back then.

The method of use was not much different.

Now, I just needed to adjust the flow to be cut a little more delicately.

Crack!

I pulled my spread arms with all my might and clapped my hands together.

The blue current wrapped around my hands transformed into a flow that I had created and spread widely.

Kung-

The heartbeat that had been heard from under my feet was cut off.

I looked down at him without saying a word, facing my clapping hands.

Crack!

A bright light bloomed before my eyes.

Blue current was wrapping around his entire body.

I could no longer hear a heartbeat from him.

Hwaaak-

The flames floating in the air right next to my face died down.

I spread my arms wide again without saying a word.

The heartbeat flowed into my head.

The faint lights flying in from all directions told me the flow of the heartbeat.

“Haa….”

I exhaled once more.

As the blue current mixed with my breath dispersed into the air, I clapped my hands vigorously.

Clap!

The sound of applause spread widely.

A weak field of current began to fly through the rain falling from all directions.

The dark clouds covering this area pushed my control to the limit.

Fast and wide.

Swallowing everything around.

Digging through the weak signals shooting out from my head to my heart.

Causing a break in the flow.

The disconnected command system makes the body stop.

People start to fall one by one.

The opponent who was running towards Amy fell down without stopping.

And he didn’t get up.

I could see it even though I couldn’t see it.

The surrounding scenery came to mind.

It felt like I was there.

“Jeff!”

I sat down in my seat, feeling a great sense of weakness, leaving behind Shine’s screaming voice.

My red, hot ankle finally complained of pain.

Shhh-

The blue electricity that filled the surroundings disappeared.

As if filling the empty space, the sound of lightning that filled my ears subsided and the sound of rain became clearer.

I smiled while lying down in my seat, facing the direction where Amy was.

Jeff Spirize Version 2

Isn’t that a pretty good name?

I let out a hollow laugh as I thought of the name of the technique.

My entire body seemed to be discharged and didn’t move.

I heard Shine and Rain’s footsteps from afar.

I turned my head as Shine’s sobbing got closer.

“Jeff!”

Shine, drenched in rain and tears, approached me, leading Rain.

She ran over to me and hugged my body as tightly as she could.

“Shine.”

“Jeff!”

“I can’t breathe.”

I whispered to her, smiling weakly.

Shine, who had been holding me, was startled and let me go.

“Are you okay? Where are you hurt?”

I looked at my ankle in silence.

The skin was flushed red.

My swollen foot seemed unable to move any further.

It wasn’t a wound inflicted by someone else.

It was just something that happened because my fragile ankle couldn’t handle the speed.

Rain, who was leaning on Shine’s shoulder, smiled at me with a hazy gaze.

“You should come in a raincoat after all.”

I smiled silently.

The situation quickly began to settle down.

Amy, who had approached me limping as if she was injured, shed tears when she saw the state of me and Rain.

It was a new feeling, since I had never imagined that Amy, who always seemed strong, would shed tears.

As we sat on the ground, hugging each other, dozens of helicopters began to fly in from the air.

People who quickly descended on ropes scattered in all directions, bringing blankets to cover our bodies.

Rain’s ability blew away the moisture in our bodies, but the warmth we lost could not be recovered.

“This is a mess.”

As I buried my head in the blanket, a familiar voice was heard from above my head.

“Jin?”

I looked around, only sticking my head out from under the blanket, to see who the owner of the voice was.

The man Amy called Jin was standing there.

Amy glared at Jin and opened her mouth.

“Didn’t you go on vacation?”

“You came right back.”

“Don’t pass on the work to me. Do you know how hard it is?”

“Sometimes you need to break away.”

Amy closed her mouth at Jin’s answer.

She seemed to not want to talk to Jin anymore.

“This is what happens when you bring out kids who aren’t even wanted.”

“I just wanted to show you the outside world.”

Jin took out a cigarette and lit it without saying anything at Amy’s answer.

“Who did all this?”

Jin asked, looking around.

“Rain made it rain….”

Jin muttered softly and lifted the lighter to his lips.

The flame burned red.

The cigarette smoked white.

“Which of the two…?”

Jin looked back and forth between me and Shine.

His gaze sparkled excessively.

I didn’t answer and pulled the blanket over my head.
