After the treaty was finalized, the next morning, Mireya woke up in bed, stretched lazily, and was still groggy from sleep.
Then she got out of bed, looked out the window, and took a deep breath.
(The weather’s nice today. I think I’ll go abroad for a bit.)
After that, Mireya got dressed and walked to the door of Mio’s room.
Knock knock knock.
“Who is it?”
“My Lady, it’s me.”
“Come in.”
When Mireya entered the room, she saw Mio had just woken up as well.
“My Lady, I’d like to go abroad for a bit, is that alright?”
“If you want to go, go ahead—just be careful. Take a detector with you and contact us if anything happens.”
“Yes.”
“By the way, Mireya, Yugudora and the Akatome sisters went to have breakfast. You should eat something before heading out.”
“I understand.”
After Mireya left the room, she ran into Eve.
“Good morning, Lady Eve.”
“Good morning, Mireya. By the way, do you want to come with me to the Elf Academy?”
“Sure, I’m free anyway.”
Eve grabbed Mireya’s shoulder, and in an instant, they appeared in Shénrén’s room.
Although Shénrén was currently sandwiched between Restia and Est on the bed in an “elf sandwich,” Eve and Mireya’s sudden appearance caused them to stop what they were doing.
Eve chuckled.
“Shénrén, do you really want your sword spirits to give birth to half-human, half-elf children that badly?”
Shénrén blushed.
“You’ve got it all wrong! I never thought about that!”
“Hehehe, well, let me tell you something—and also why I’m here.”
“Is it about the tournament?”
“Naïve little boy! Let me tell you something—the treaty doesn’t apply to me. I can kill all of you like swatting mosquitoes.”
Restia’s expression changed.
“Was it Alexander’s order for you to kill us?”
“It’s just a possibility. The treaty was created for peace. I came to talk to Shénrén about the future.”
“The future?”
“Like I said earlier, you really want your sword spirits to give you half-human, half-elf kids, right?”
“I already said that’s a misunderstanding!”
“Let me explain. There are lots of mixed-race children in other worlds—humans and humanoid elves, or even half-gods. Some even have three bloodlines.”
“You mean…?”
Shénrén began to grasp the implication.
“In the future, people from other worlds might come to live in ours. Their homeland has mostly been swallowed by the sea. I’m helping them out of kindness. But the Holy Dark King and I are both looking forward to seeing your kids with your sword spirits.”
“Can we not talk about that?”
“Fine, then let me remind you of something…”
At that moment, outside the room, Rubia had come to find Shénrén. Hearing Eve’s voice, she quietly walked up to the door to eavesdrop.
“I will eliminate anyone who tries to kill the Holy Dark King or our subordinates!”
“What?!”
“Yes, I already turned an assassin to ash—before we even made the treaty.”
“Looks like someone holds a grudge.”
“Exactly.”
“My Lady.”
“What is it, Mireya?”
“The door moved.”
“I already knew. Rubia, come in.”
Then the door suddenly opened.
Seeing what was going on in the bed, Rubia immediately got angry.
“Shénrén, don’t you think this is too much to be doing while talking to someone?”
“It’s a misunderstanding!”
“It’s fine, Rubia. I just have one last thing to say, then I’ll leave.”
“Must be important.”
“Yes. The last thing is that the treaty includes a self-defense mode.”
“Self-defense?”
“If someone attacks you verbally with malicious intent, and it’s serious enough, the person being insulted has the right to severely injure the attacker.”
“Can they be killed?”
“Not under the treaty’s protection. No one can be killed—except by me, since I’m the only one exempt. For example, if Shénrén does something wrong and you insult or hit him, the treaty won’t stop it.”
“So it only activates under genuine malice, right?”
“As expected of the disaster sister! [laughs] Absolutely correct.”
“Can we drop the ‘disaster’ part?”
“Mireya.”
“Yes!”
“I’m sending you to Nei Yuan Country. I found a humanoid sword spirit suitable for you.”
“Thank you, My Lady.”
“When you arrive, walk 100 meters east. You’ll find the spirit there. Just talk to them about friendship and form a contract.”
Eve snapped her fingers, and Mireya disappeared.
Rubia and Shénrén were both curious. It was their first time hearing about a place called Nei Yuan Country.
After arriving, Mireya found herself in a wide grassland.
She took a deep breath.
“The air is so clean. I better head to the place Lady Eve mentioned.”
Following Eve’s direction, Mireya walked for a while. Just before reaching the destination, she saw a blue-haired, blue-eyed girl.
Mireya approached her.
“Um… hello.”
“Hi there. You must be Mireya, the one Eve mentioned.”
“That’s right.”
“Let me introduce myself. I’m Sara—Eve gave me the name.”
“Can we be friends?”
“Of course! Eve already told me—I belong to you now.”
“Thank you.”
“Let’s take good care of each other, Mireya.”
“You too, Sara.”
“Mm!”
Meanwhile, Eve and Rubia were happily chatting outside.
“Rubia, how long do you think it’ll take for Mireya to fully recover her memories?”
“Well… maybe several decades.”
“I think just a few years will do. Especially with the Holy King now leading peace. Anyway, letting Mireya make friends was the right move. Yugudora, on the other hand, prefers the absence of war too much.”
“Hey, do you think the Holy King’s personality shift has something to do with you?”
“Why do you say that?”
“Just a hunch.”
“Speaking of which, I should go talk with the Holy King about reviving Aresia Idolis.”
“You mean the Saintess?!”
“That’s right. I want a shepherd girl.”
“How do you even bring someone back from the dead?”
“That’s a secret—only the Holy Dark King and I know. None of the other spirit kings are aware.”
“Alright. So where exactly is Mireya now?”
“Oh, that’s a secret too. Excuse me, then.”
Eve vanished with teleportation.
“Mireya, is your new master cute?”
“Yes, and she’s super nice.”
“I’m here!”
Eve appeared out of nowhere.
“Eve!”
“My Lady!”
“Sorry to startle you two. Sara, come with us—we’re going back.”
Eve teleported the two back to the castle, then explained everything to everyone.
Mio and Shizuku looked over and thought Sara was super cute. Shizuku even patted her on the head.
“Sara, I’ll be counting on you.”
“Yes, Lady Dark King.”
“So cute.”
“By the way, Mio, Shizuku—this afternoon we’re reviving someone.”
Mio & Shizuku: Who?
“Shepherd girl Aresia Idolis.”
“What about the body…?”
“Don’t worry.”
Then Eve looked around at everyone.
“Akatome, Kurotome, and Yugudora—you three head to the Void Sea area to get ingredients. The fish there tastes amazing. I’ve already marked it on the detector.”
“Yes.”
“Got it.”
“Understood.”
“Est, Restia, Mireya, Sara—if you don’t have anything to do, go patrol the town.”
They all nodded.
“Alright, let’s begin. Mio, Shizuku—you’re flying with me to practice in the sky.”
“What about us?”
Eve had forgotten about the two true spirit kings.
“Come with us too.”
Then the five of them rose to 20,000 meters in altitude.
“Now, the four of you attack me all at once. This is to help you adjust to your bodies.”
“Wait, Lian and I don’t have to, right?”
“Why not?”
“Because we just don’t like fighting very much.”
“Yeah, except for those few times a thousand years ago, I usually don’t fight.”
“Seriously.”
Shizuku flew over next to Ren.
“Little Ren, how about changing your name to Ren Wescott? Your old name was too long.”
“No problem. I’m not a king anymore anyway.”
“What about me?”
“Still the same. Otherwise, if we call you Alexander, how will anyone else tell who’s who?”
“Fair enough.”
“Alright then, little Shizuku, little Mio—you two go!”
Shizuku and Mio: Understood!
After the three of them spread out, Eve snapped her fingers.
“Begin!”
Mio charged in at subsonic speed, punching toward Eve’s face, while Shizuku threw a dark purple lightning orb from behind.
“Hmph, that attack is too slow!”
Because Eve accelerated her thoughts, everything appeared slow to her eyes.
“What?!”
Eve ignored Mio’s punch and countered with a spinning kick, sending Mio flying while also kicking the lightning orb back at Shizuku.
Though Shizuku reacted quickly and blocked in an X-shape with her arms, the pain was still intense. Mio, on the other hand, flew 100 meters before regaining control.
“I gotta say, Ren, these two kids can’t really fight.”
“Yeah, if it were me, I could’ve swatted that attack away.”
Mio charged again, this time attempting a flying kick.
“Nice try.”
Eve seized the opportunity, grabbed her foot with one hand, and began spinning rapidly in place.
“Aaaaaaah! Ha!!!”
She then hurled Mio straight into Shizuku, sending the two flying several hundred kilometers. Shizuku was so stunned by the impact, she couldn’t react.
“Tch!”
Mio teleported behind Eve and tried a full-force knife-hand strike. But Eve turned around in less than 0.5 seconds, caught the knife-hand with one hand, and grabbed her neck with the other.
“Aaah…”
“Naive. Sneak attacks with teleportation only work on average people. But against me? Useless. I just need to stay aware of the surroundings—teleporting causes subtle air vibrations. That’s how I knew where you were.”
Then Eve let go.
“Even though it’s only been a few hits, it’s obvious you’re not ready. But with more practice, you’ll improve.”
“Y-Yeah…”
“Alright, how about this.”
“Hmm?”
“I’ll explain when Shizuku gets back.”
After a while, Shizuku returned, flying.
“Little An, you’re really strong.”
“Of course. Let’s do an experiment then!”
Eve snapped her fingers. Mio and Alexander, Shizuku and Ren—swapped bodies.
“How is it?”
“This body feels weird.”
“Same here.”
“I swapped your bodies. Now, how do you two kings feel?”
Ren and Alexander were particularly surprised. Ren clenched his fist.
“This kind of power exists?”
“Yup. It’s nothing compared to when I fought Kamihaya Shinjin—at least dozens of times stronger now.”
“Of course, adapting to your bodies is another story.”
Alexander smiled slightly.
“This power is stronger than all the previous spirit kings combined… though I’m not interested.”
“Why not?”
“I’ve come to understand that power is a double-edged sword. I’d rather live as an ordinary person to atone for my past mistakes.”
Eve gave a wicked grin.
“You’re just characters in a novel. No matter what you do, it’s all part of the plot.”
“Exactly. Through Mio and Shizuku’s memories, Ren and I gained valuable knowledge—and that changed our personalities too.”
Ren nodded.
Suddenly, Eve’s detector beeped.
“Who is it?”
“My Lady, it’s me, Mireya.”
“What is it?”
“I saw Lady Volcanic alone on the street.”
“Then keep her company. With the treaty in place, she can’t hurt you.”
“Understood.”
“Phew, Volcanic must be out playing. Anyway, time to restore everyone’s bodies.”
With a snap, everyone’s bodies returned to normal.
Meanwhile, with Mireya—
“Lady Volcanic!”
“It’s you. Something wrong?”
“My Lady, why are you out here?”
“Just out having fun.”
“Then let me show you around.”
“Alright, take me somewhere with good food first.”
“Understood.”
Mireya took Volcanic to Mio’s favorite burger place.
“Shopkeeper, I need a burger for the Fire King.”
“Got it.”
Eve had already given notice to most of the townsfolk.
“Mireya, come here for a second.”
“Okay.”
In a quiet spot, Volcanic spoke softly.
“Out here, just call me Little Vol. I want a human identity like Alexander.”
“Yes, My Lady.”
A short while later, the waiter brought four burgers and two cups of milk tea.
“These are the Holy King’s favorite burgers and mixed milk tea.”
Volcanic inserted a straw and took a sip.
“Tasty.”
Volcanic gave a cute smile. Mireya smiled back.
“Adorable.”
“So are you. If you had been like this before, we could’ve been friends long ago.”
“What was I like before?”
“Terrible. Hurt a lot of people. In the end, you died by my flames.”
“Hmm… I don’t remember any of that.”
“That’s normal—your memories were sealed.”
“Maybe the higher-ups did it for my own good.”
“Do you want to unlock them?”
“Yes.”
“Then promise not to do bad things again.”
“I promise.”
Volcanic reached out and patted Mireya’s head.
The next moment, a flood of memories surged into Mireya’s mind, and she instantly understood.
“How is it? Recovered?”
Mireya nodded but looked confused.
“Why would the Holy King…”
“What’s wrong? Aren’t you happy?”
Mireya looked at Volcanic.
“Thank you, Lady Volcanic. Maybe the Holy King did it to protect me.”
“Watch your tone.”
“Sorry.”
“No, I mean—be careful how you speak in front of Alexander and the others, or you’ll get sealed again.”
“I understand. But the Holy King really has changed a lot.”
“Maybe trying to atone for sins from a thousand years ago.”
“Then, Lady Volcanic…”
“Call me Little Vol.”
“Then, Little Vol, can I, as a human now, enter the Blade Dance Festival?”
“Ask your boss. It’s not up to me who enters.”
“Alright.”
Meanwhile, with Eve—
“Hmm?”
Suddenly, Eve’s eyes widened.
“What is it, Little An?”
“Mireya’s memory has been unlocked!”
“Ha, let me contact her.”
“Good. She’s a loyal Holy King follower—she’ll listen. While we’re at it, let’s unlock Yugudora’s too.”
Eve snapped her fingers. In the distance, Yugudora suddenly clutched her head in pain.
“Ah!”
Akadome and Kurodome rushed over.
“Yugudora, what’s wrong?”
“Are you okay? Want to see a doctor?”
“I’m fine.”
Yugudora quickly returned to normal.
(Why would the Holy King…)
Suddenly, Yugudora’s detector beeped.
“Did you hear that?”
“Yes, Holy King.”
“How’s your memory?”
“Fully restored. But, Holy King, why did you seal it?”
“To protect you. There were too many people who hated you and Mireya before. Temporarily losing your memories was for your own good.”
Yugudora suddenly remembered that her lord had set a rule that she was not allowed to commit suicide.
“Thank you, my Lady.”
“I won’t let you sacrifice yourselves for nothing. Peace is a good thing, isn’t it?”
“That’s true.”
“Mireya’s memory has returned too, but it’s safer to stay human for now.”
“Understood.”
“Don’t lose the next Blade Dance Festival.”
“Yes!”
That afternoon, after everyone returned, Yugudora went to Mireya’s room.
“Mireya, your memory’s back too, right?”
“How did you know?”
“The Holy King said so. Mine’s back too.”
“Seems like the Holy King knows everything.”
“The Holy King said not to lose the next Blade Dance Festival.”
“Then let’s do our best. All for the Holy King.”
“Yeah.”
At that moment, in Eve’s room, Mio and Shizuku were chatting with Eve.
“Oh no, I forgot to revive the saint at noon!”
“It’s fine, no rush anyway.”
“Right.”
“Let’s just use Little Mio’s memory for the saint’s synchronization. The saint’s super gentle anyway.”
“Sounds good.”
Eve cut off a strand of Mio’s hair, chanted a spell, and placed the hair on the ground. It immediately turned into a saint’s body identical to Mio’s.
Copy complete.
“Why hasn’t she revived yet?”
“No soul. I need to go somewhere real quick.”
Eve instantly teleported to Rubia.
Rubia happened to be reading in the study.
“Hello.”
“Eve? What brings you here?”
“I need your help to revive the saint.”
“What do you need from me?”
“A strand of hair.”
“That’s no problem. But let me ask—are you the Holy King’s subordinate?”
Rubia, being a priestess, had sharp intuition.
“Master, subordinate, sister—any of those work.”
“If you won’t say, fine. The Holy King is heading in a better direction anyway.”
“This is all just making up for the past. But if someone stirs up trouble, I’ll act immediately.”
“I understand.”
“And let me tell you—the pact only applies to all sentient life. Some think it covers all life forms.”
“If it covered all life, we couldn’t even eat meat.”
“Exactly. By the way, Mireya’s memory has returned.”
“What’s the current situation?”
“Same as usual. I suspect Volcanic helped restore her memory.”
“Lady Volcanic!?”
“She’s playing in our country. Met Mireya, I had Mireya guide her around, and later her memory returned. You can ask Volcanic about it.”
“Got it.”
Eve cut a strand of Rubia’s hair and put it in her pocket.
“I’m heading back.”
“Okay.”
Eve teleported back instantly.
“I’m back~”
“Welcome back.”
“Thanks for your effort.”
“No problem. Let’s begin.”
Eve placed her hand on the saint’s head.
In the mental space—
“Did you hear me?”
“I did.”
“Alesia Idolis, your memory is now synchronized with my friend Mio’s.”
“I understand. I’ve grasped most of the situation already.”
“Good. The world’s at peace now, so just live as an ordinary person. You can go back to being a shepherd if you want.”
“Thank you.”
“No problem. I revived you because you’re kind. Besides, the Holy King has changed too.”
“I learned all that from Mio’s memories.”
“Little Mio is from another world. Don’t tell anyone, okay?”
“Don’t worry. I’m good at keeping secrets.”
“Alright, wait a bit—your body should wake up in about 5 minutes.”
“Okay, thank you again.”
“Mhm.”
“Hey, can I ask something?”
“What is it?”
“Has Est been revived?”
“She can be revived.”
“Then please do it.”
“Leave everything to me.”
In the next moment, Eve opened her eyes and laid Alesia on the bed.
Then next to Alesia, Est appeared.
After opening her eyes, Est politely said—
“Hello. May I ask where this is?”
Then Est looked to the side.
“What happened to my master?”
“Your master Alesia is fine. The person next to her, who looks just like her, is named Alexander—full name Kamikoshi Mio Westcott. The other is Ren Ashdoll—real name Kamikoshi Shizuku Westcott. And I’m Eve, also known as Little An.”
“Thank you all for taking care of my master.”
“No problem.”
After a while, Alesia woke up.
“Est…”
“Master.”
“How’s Alesia’s body?”
“Everything’s fine.”
“That’s good to hear.”
Alesia glanced around at everyone.
“Um, Miss Mio…”
“Just call me Little Mio.”
Though the two had identical faces, their eyes were different.
“Little Mio, your world sounds so interesting.”
“Of course. Looks like you understood a lot after syncing with my memories.”
“Master…”
Est gazed at Alesia with adorable eyes.
“Est, you’re still the same. I’m so happy.”
“Why don’t you come stroll around town with us?”
“Let’s grab a meal too. You haven’t eaten in a thousand years.”
“Thank you.”
Later, Eve introduced Alesia and the other Est to everyone, and they all went out to eat together.
Meanwhile, Mireya was looking out the window of her room.
“Seems like the Holy King really has so many powers… but I want to do something she likes too.”
Mireya pondered for a while.
“I’ve got it. I’ll go see that person.”
“Mireya, where are you going?”
Sara looked at her with innocent eyes.
“Going to take care of something. I’ll be back in half a day.”
“Be careful out there.”
“I will.”
And Mireya was off immediately.
As a demigod, Mireya could run at twice the speed of sound without getting tired.
“This speed feels amazing. No wonder the Holy King enhanced my body. I really want to test it out in a fight.”
An hour later, Mireya arrived at a prison. Two knights were standing at the gate. She walked up.
“Hey, I’m here under orders from the Holy King to take someone.”
“The Holy King? Alright, I’ll take you there.”
These people were especially loyal to the Spirit King. Any order for the Spirit King was followed without hesitation.
“I’m here for Lina.”
Lina used to be one of Mireya’s subordinates. She was captured for attempted assassination. No one knew she was acting on behalf of the Holy Nation. Mireya had intel but hadn’t been able to rescue her due to other critical matters.
“She’s on the third basement level. Sentenced to 20 years for attempted assassination.”
“Take me to release her. She was part of the former Holy Nation. The assassination was classified—you higher-ups weren’t informed.”
“I understand.”
The knight led Mireya to Lina’s cell.
Inside was a girl with light reddish hair, blank irises, and grayish-white pupils. She opened her eyes wide upon seeing Mireya.
“Lady Mireya!?”
“You’ve gotten thinner. These days must’ve been rough.”
“It’s fine. Being captured was expected.”
“Come with me to the Holy King.”
“Understood.”
Lina was absolutely loyal to Mireya and rarely questioned anything.
“Excuse me, miss…”
The knight called out to Mireya.
“May I have your full name?”
“Mireya Stis, top subordinate of the Holy King Alexander.”
“Alright. Since you’re taking a high-risk prisoner, I have to report to my superiors.”
“No problem. Lina, let’s go.”
“Yes!”
The two walked outside into the forest, and Mireya stopped in her tracks, turning to look at Lina.
“Lina, if you see the Lords in the future, be more respectful and don’t talk back.”
“It’s just the Holy King, right?”
“No. The Dark Lord has been revived and lives together with the Holy King, and there’s also someone named Lady Eve. They take care of many important matters.”
“I understand.”
“But we’re still far from the capital. Let’s do this instead.”
Mireya pressed a button on a device and started a call by selecting a number.
“Mireya-sama…”
“Quiet down.”
“Hello?”
“Lady Eve, it’s me.”
“Mireya, what happened now?”
“My friend wants to live in our city, but we’re too far from the capital. Could you send us via black hole?”
“Sure.”
A black hole appeared next to Mireya.
“Thank you, Lady Eve.”
“No problem. The Holy and Dark Kings and I are visiting the Divines with Aresia, do as you like.”
“Okay.”
The call ended.
“Lina, follow me.”
“Yes!”
The two were instantly transported through the black hole into Mireya’s room.
“Mireya-sama, this is…?”
“My room.”
“Wow, it’s huge! Just like a royal chamber!”
“Of course. I get a lot of privileges for being close to the Lords.”
“Mireya-sama, you’ve changed a lot from before. You used to be so cold when you spoke.”
“Too many things happened. I even died once. The Lords revived me.”
“The Elven King must be truly great.”
“Of course. But it’s still hard to get along with former enemies.”
“By enemies, you mean those who stood against the Holy King?”
“Exactly.”
“Will you take revenge?”
“How could I? The peace led by the Holy King was hard-won. Besides, I died by accident. I hold no grudge.”
“You died by accident?”
“My elven armor went out of control. I was burned to ashes.”
“That’s awful.”
“Anyway, let me show you a house outside the castle. Everyone gets one home. I know a good place.”
“Thanks so much.”
“No problem.”
Mireya understood that her drastic personality change was partly due to the persona formed during her amnesia. Although recovering her memories helped, the two personalities created some inner conflict.
Later, the two arrived at a house closest to the castle. Lina looked around curiously.
“Mireya-sama, is this really the Holy Nation? It feels much bigger than before, and the houses are more varied.”
“The country was renamed the Shin-Kosuto Federation. This world has become the Holy King’s ideal world.”
“So there are no wars anymore?”
“Right. Plus, the covenant can control people.”
“The covenant?”
“It’s a law the Holy King made. In this world, all acts of killing, war, and plunder are banned. It only applies to sentient beings.”
“I see. Looks like I have no job anymore.”
“That’s fine. Everything I do is for the Holy King. His will is my reason to live.”
“Same here, Mireya-sama. You took me in back then to serve the Holy King well.”
“Of course. His commands are more important than mine.”
“Mireya!”
Yugodora appeared suddenly.
“Yugodora? What are you doing here?”
“Akame asked me to go to the burger place to find Kuroto. I just happened to pass by.”
“Yugodora, long time no see.”
“Lina!? Is that you?”
“Yes. Mireya-sama got me out of prison.”
“Did no one know you were part of the Holy Nation?”
“No. I stayed silent the whole time, so no one ever found out.”
“Well done. The Three Lords will surely like you.”
“Impossible. I’m just a lowly soldier.”
“You’ll understand once you know their personalities. Right, Mireya?”
“Exactly. Even Luminarlis is adored by the Holy King.”
“Luminarlis? She’s still alive!?”
“Yes, why?”
“I remember she got seriously ill. The doctor said she had only three months left.”
“That was a misdiagnosis. It was just a severe cold.”
“That’s great. I’ve got a reliable teammate again.”
“Well then, Mireya, I’m heading to see Kuroto.”
“Okay.”
After Yugodora left, Mireya showed Lina around the house. Lina expressed how pleased she was.
“Mireya-sama, commoners’ houses and nobles’ houses are completely equal now.”
“What did you think this country was? With the Lords’ help, we’re now number one in the world—in medicine, food, tech, and more.”
“Mireya-sama, are you planning to join the Elven Sword Dance Festival?”
“Yes, but I was told to join the next one.”
“What about this one?”
“The Lord said not to join this one. He also said we should focus on training. As he says, even our hand-to-hand combat skills need work.”
“Then I’ve got to step up my training too.”
“With your current skill, you’d be lucky to reach even 20% of Luminarlis’ power in 20 years.”
“Then maybe I should look for a different job.”
“Speaking of jobs, someone just came to mind. I’ll head back now.”
“Okay.”
Mireya said goodbye to Lina and wandered around alone.
“So boring. I wish I had missions like before.”
She wandered for over 20 minutes and returned to the castle.
“Mireya, you’re back.”
Alexander smiled at her.
“Yeah. I bet the Lords are having fun at the Elf Academy.”
“Why don’t you go check it out?”
“No thanks. Too far. By the way, Alex, since you’re the Holy King’s will, you should resemble him more.”
“I’m just his will. Our personalities can’t be the same.”
“Right. Where’s Ren?”
“She went to the Dragon Kingdom to hang out with the Dragon King.”
“Why didn’t you go?”
“I was asleep earlier.”
“Guess I’ll take a nap too.”
Mireya walked into her room. Though she didn’t sleep right away, she looked out the window at the scenery.
“This new era isn’t bad. I guess I’ll slowly adapt.”
Meanwhile, in the Celestial Realm of the original world:
“My Lord, all of her mother’s subordinates have been missing for days. They likely went to the Demon Realm.”
“I don’t think so. They may resent me, but they’ve never acted unjustly. I also now realize my mistakes.”
“Then, my Lord, you mean…?”
“I’ll stop the pursuit. If they’re spotted in the human world, just keep your distance.”
“Understood.”
“Report!”
Suddenly someone ran in.
“My Lord, an urgent matter!”
“Speak.”
“The King of the Underworld requests an audience.”
“Let her in.”
A girl with short black hair, who looked about 12 in human years, entered, dressed in strange clothes, with bright red eyes.
“Uncle Veinront, it’s been 160 years.”
“Dark Yue, it’s been a while. I was planning to visit you soon.”
The former Underworld King was his brother, and Dark Yue was his niece. But she liked to call him uncle.
“It’s fine. It’s just… something happened.”
“Tell me.”
“My dear friend in the human world passed away.”
“Then couldn’t you bring her back in the Underworld?”
“The problem is, her soul never reached the Underworld. My stupid dad said he didn’t know anything. I suspect he’s just being lazy!”
“What was her name?”
“Shinkoshi Mio Wescott. She was very kind. After she died, her sister Shinkoshi Shizuku Wescott also disappeared. I came here hoping you could have your people investigate. They were both very kind to me.”
“Got it. Investigating the human world is way easier for us than it is for the Underworld.”
“Thank you, Uncle!”
“No problem.”
“Great! I’ll be able to see them again soon!”
