Xingyue: ‘Emmm…’
Actually, Xingyue’s first reaction was to sit next to that gentle girl. She seemed very timid, and it would be easier to get along with someone like that, because if anything awkward happened, it would always be on their end.
But sitting in the front row is so uncomfortable…
As for the cat girl loli in the back row by the window… she gave off a “don’t mess with me” vibe.
After a process of elimination…
Xingyue: ‘I’ll tentatively pick B for now.’
Xingyue raised her hand and chose the middle seat.
“This is student Xisitina Bo’ersi. She transferred from a Western European magic family! She’s the top student in our class!” Teacher Mengmeng introduced with a smile.
Then she looked at the young lady.
“Little Xisitina, please get along with little Xingyue, okay!”
“Mhm.”
Xisitina nodded, but didn’t spare a glance for Mengmeng or Xingyue, her attention completely focused on the notes in her hand.
“Alright, little Xingyue, go take your seat,” Teacher Mengmeng said.
“Okay.”
Xingyue walked to the center of the classroom under the gaze of the entire class.
The blue-haired girl unhurriedly twirled her gilded fountain pen, then she raised her eyes and scanned Xingyue’s loosely worn school uniform jacket.
Finally, her gaze lingered on the star-shaped badge, and her brow furrowed slightly.
“Um… is something wrong?” Xingyue felt a little uncomfortable being stared at.
“It’s nothing. Sit.”
Xisitina’s voice was like silk dipped in ice.
When Xingyue sat down next to her, she noticed a corner of a yellowed parchment scroll peeking out from under the other girl’s textbook, its dense incantations interspersed with many strange symbols.
Xingyue: ‘I can’t understand it at all X﹏X’
‘She really is a top student, even her notes are different…’
“What are you looking at?”
An icy aura suddenly drew near. Xisitina had turned her head at some point.
“Ah…”
Xingyue hastily leaned back.
‘How strange. Why do I feel this faint but overwhelming sense of pressure whenever I sit next to Xisitina?’
Xingyue: ‘It must be because this body is too weak. If it were before, I wouldn’t have lost to anyone when it comes to projecting an intimidating aura (◦`~´◦)’
****
Before coming here, Xingyue had done some research. The school’s teaching model was similar to a regular university. Living on campus wasn’t mandatory; students could also rent housing off-campus. The student body consisted of humans and monster girls, with transfer students from all over the world. Everyone knew magic to some extent.
Of course, in this world, becoming a magical girl or an evil villain wasn’t just about knowing magic; it referred more to a certain status or rank.
But none of those details mattered much. It wasn’t like she could go back now anyway.
She would escape sooner or later, but she couldn’t waste time until then. So, what Xingyue needed to do now was hide her identity while improving her magical abilities.
And just like that, it was the end of class…
“A little interesting.”
Xisitina suddenly said this to Xingyue.
“Eh, Student Xisitina…?”
Xisitina leaned closer to Xingyue, looking her up and down.
“There seems to be something about you. A very evil aura,” Xisitina said.
Xingyue: ‘Eh—could she have seen through my true identity? Σ( ° △ °|||)︴’
‘You’ve got to be kidding. If people find out I’m an evil executive… my loli life will be over…’
‘Ruoxi definitely won’t let me off X﹏X’
‘I’ll be turned into a magical kitty again ’
“What are you talking about? I don’t understand, haha…” Xingyue forced a bitter smile, feigning composure.
“Playing dumb? Heh.”
Xisitina let out a light laugh, her long fingers stroking the desk.
“Then let me see, how long can you keep up the act in front of me?”
“I really don’t know what you’re talking about!” Xingyue cried out.
“Then I’ll just have to tell you. But it’s not convenient here.”
Xisitina stood up gracefully, smoothing out her skirt.
“After school, come to my house. We’ll have a good chat~”
“Huh? Go… to your house (°ー°〃)”
The little white-haired, red-eyed loli blinked.
[Time of Decision!]
[A. Accept and go home with Xisitina after school.]
[B. Make an excuse not to go, leave school immediately after class, and try to avoid interacting with Xisitina.]
[Note: Choosing incorrectly will trigger a hidden crisis!]
Xingyue: ‘What ∑(❍ฺд❍ฺlll)’
Xingyue’s face instantly turned red, but this time it wasn’t from shyness, it was from anger (annoyed).
‘What the hell is this, I can’t even go to school without a hidden crisis popping up (╬◣д◢)’
As for which to choose…
Xingyue: ‘Come on! Who goes home with someone on the first day they meet? Aren’t those the kind of people who end up as… uh, cautionary tales online?’
Xingyue’s identity was special right now; she couldn’t afford any complications.
“Um, I’m sorry, but I have to meet my friend after school. I can’t go back with you,” Xingyue refused Xisitina.
“Then tell your friend, and come back with me,” Xisitina said.
Xingyue: ‘Your persistence is making your motives even weirder (annoyed)’
“I really can’t!” Xingyue pressed her palms together.
“…Is that so.”
[Xisitina’s Favorability -5]
Xisitina sighed, “In that case, this young lady won’t save you. You’re on your own.”
After saying that, she stood up and left the classroom.
Xingyue: ‘Save me? Save me from what?’
“Hey wait, Student Xisitina, explain yourself—”
Xingyue chased after her.
****
Unfortunately, after that, no matter how much Xingyue asked, Xisitina wouldn’t answer.
Unless Xingyue was willing to go home with her, only then would she explain everything.
This continued until school ended in the afternoon…
The students around them left one by one.
“I hope I can still see you tomorrow.”
After packing up her notes, Xisitina left that strange sentence and departed from the classroom.
****
“Can’t all these riddle-speakers just drop dead!”
The school bell echoed through the campus as Xingyue clutched her schoolbag strap, pacing slowly in the hallway.
‘What on earth does that Xisitina want…’
‘After spending the day with her, I can’t shake the feeling that she’s not a good person.’
Xingyue: ‘I probably didn’t choose wrong, right… Ugh, this is so troublesome!’
‘Whatever, who cares about some crisis.’
Ruoxi should be waiting for her at the school gate by now. Once she found Ruoxi, she wouldn’t have to fear any hidden crisis.
“Time to go home (◦`~´◦)”
Xingyue bit her lip and quickened her pace.
And just as she was feeling vexed…
“Smack!”
A crisp slapping sound suddenly came from a distance, followed by the sharp shouts of girls.
“Eh? What was that sound?”
Xingyue paused, her feet involuntarily moving towards the source of the sound.
Turning a corner, she saw a shocking scene—the black-haired, red-eyed cat girl loli who had been sleeping at her desk in class was now cornered by three other girls.
“…”
The cat girl was curled up on the floor, her long black hair messily covering her face. Her cat ears drooped, and her tail hung limply by her side.
The lead girl, wearing a modified short-skirt school uniform, stood with her hands on her hips, her face full of anger:
“You meddling dead cat, how dare you lay a hand on my little sister? I’ll make sure you leave with a few scrapes today!”
As she spoke, she grabbed the cat girl loli’s collar, raised her hand again, and slapped her hard across the cheek.
“Smack!!”
The sound of the slap echoed again. The cat girl’s body trembled slightly, but she still didn’t look up or fight back, silently enduring it all.
The two girls surrounding them let out harsh, mocking laughter, as if they were enjoying an interesting farce.
Xingyue: ‘This… why isn’t she fighting back?’
Watching from the side, Xingyue’s eyes widened. Seeing the cat girl being bullied without resisting, an indescribable anger welled up in her heart.
[Time of Decision!]
[A. Step forward and help the cat girl (ノ`⊿´)ノ]
[B. Pretend you didn’t see anything and just walk away…]
[C. Wait for the girls to leave, then pretend you were just passing by and help the cat girl.]
[Note: This is a far-reaching choice. Please choose carefully.]
