A Painful Reunion and an Unexpected Interruption

“Hey! Let go!” The indignity of being pinned against the wall and forced into a kiss was something Bai Qiao absolutely could not tolerate. Since taking on this female form, her physical strength was no match for Bai Chen’s. After numerous futile struggles, a sharp glint entered Bai Qiao’s eyes.

“Ugh!” Bai Chen clutched his continuously bleeding left shoulder with his right hand. Between his drunkenness and their close proximity, he had unexpectedly failed to dodge Bai Qiao’s attack. The searing pain from his left shoulder, however, brought a measure of clarity to his muddled mind.

“You… why are you here?”

“Shouldn’t I be the one asking you that?!” Bai Qiao felt a surge of indignation. ‘Is this guy still blaming me?’

Bai Chen simply stared at Bai Qiao, remaining silent for nearly two minutes. A heavy, oppressive atmosphere spread between them, making it almost impossible to breathe.

“Eh? What are you doing?!” Bai Qiao cried out, her wrist seized by Bai Chen. She hadn’t expected Bai Chen to make no attempt to dodge earlier, and seeing him injured had even stirred a flicker of reluctance within her. Thus, Bai Qiao no longer wished to attack Bai Chen with her spiritual energy.

Though the current Bai Chen could easily evade her attacks, Bai Qiao still didn’t want to inflict any more harm upon him. Yet, her wrist throbbed with excruciating pain!

‘This guy has so much strength…’ Bai Qiao twisted her wrist, desperate to escape Bai Chen’s iron grip or at least alleviate the agony. But Bai Chen’s hold was too powerful; Bai Qiao couldn’t move it even a fraction.

“You bastard…!” Bai Qiao clenched her fists tightly. “Damn it, let go!”

The uncharacteristically serious tone made Bai Chen pause. Bai Qiao’s gaze upon him grew complex. ‘Sure enough, this guy only satisfies himself, completely disregarding the feelings of others. Was I like that before?’ Having been a girl for months now, she realized how much she had changed.

“Why should I go back?!”

“Go home!”

“Aren’t you all doing perfectly fine? Do you want me to go back and ruin the atmosphere?!” A pang of bitterness unexpectedly pierced Bai Qiao’s heart as she uttered these words.

“……”

“Ah, who would have thought King Bai would resort to such methods, forcefully taking people and coercing others!”

“Black Sha…” Bai Chen’s brows furrowed as he looked at Black Sha, who was standing atop a streetlamp.

“This young lady doesn’t seem to want to go with you!” Black Sha leaped gracefully from the streetlamp. Seizing the moment of Bai Chen’s distraction, Black Sha pulled Bai Qiao into his arms. Still in a daze, Bai Qiao simply leaned into Black Sha’s embrace.

“……” Seeing Bai Qiao so ‘obediently’ nestled in Black Sha’s arms, even Bai Chen’s considerable composure shattered.

“You bastard!!” Ripping Bai Qiao away, Bai Chen seized Black Sha by the collar.

“What? Want to fight?” Black Sha met Bai Chen’s furious gaze, challenging him with his own eyes.
