Chapter 74: Crazy Berserker

Before Han Seong-gil arrived at the battlefield where Yoo Hee-yeon and Lee Hyun-seung were fighting, he was

spending time at the 3rd capture point.

“Damn it. No one is coming, huh?”

After capturing the point, time passed, but no one arrived. Han Seong-gil started to consider whether he should go

find the enemies himself. But then he remembered what Lee Hyun-seung had said.

  • “In order to win this match, you need to follow my orders. No matter what happens, keep the 3rd capture point safe.”

“Hah… Damn it…”

Han Seong-gil sat back down. But the waiting didn’t last long.

“Hey… Over there, F-class guys!”

Not long after, about 10 members of A-class arrived at the 3rd capture point.

Han Seong-gil drew his sword and started fighting. The roughly 10 A-class members were struggling against Han

Seong-gil, who was growing stronger by the second. Of course, despite this, the F-class members who had been with

Han Seong-gil had all been retired.

“Why the hell is this crazy bastard getting stronger the more we hit him?”

The A-class members started retreating after attempting to gang up on Han Seong-gil.

“Come on, let’s keep fighting! Why are you running away?”

Han Seong-gil’s eyes began to redden, and he started chuckling.

“I got a message from Yoo Hee-yeon. Plan C is in motion.”

Plan C. It was a contingency plan in case Yoo Hee-yeon was ever in danger. The plan involved gathering all forces to her position.

  • Tatatadadad-!

“What the hell is that?”

Just as the climax of the battle approached, the fighters began fleeing, and Han Seong-gil hesitated for a moment,

considering whether to chase them down. In the end, he sat back down.

‘He just asked me to stay here and guard, so…’

Well, he wasn’t exactly thrilled about following Lee Hyun-seung’s orders, but for some reason, it felt wrong to refuse

him. Was it because he resembled Pung Geon-ho? He wasn’t sure. Han Seong-gil hadn’t even listened well to Pung

Geon-ho’s orders in the first place.

“Hah…”

He yawned with his red eyes, feeling a slight headache and a sense of pleasure lingering. It would take some time to

return to his original state.

  • Taaaang-!

The sound of gunfire came from the distance. Han Seong-gil briefly hesitated before getting up.

“Hah… What a bother. Why do they shoot their guns and give away their position? They’re probably just getting beat

up alone again.”

He headed toward the direction of the gunfire.

“Why are you so late?”

At the cliff, the last of the A-class members who had been fighting Han Seong-gil had finally arrived.

Park Tae-young looked at his bloodied arm and spoke as he fought with Han Seong-gil.

“I didn’t see the signal right away because I was fighting with some crazy bastard. Sorry.”

Hearing Park Tae-young’s words, A-class mage Shin Jun-ho spoke with a hint of irritation.

“Whatever. Now that you guys are here, hurry up and prepare to send me your mana.”

“What?”

One of the men asked with confusion.

“Shin Jun-ho, why should we give you our mana? The whole point of Plan C was to gather at Yoo Hee-yeon’s side and

fight together, right? If that’s not possible, then at least support her with long-range magic.”

Shin Jun-ho made a face as if he were irritated.

“Do you think you can take care of Won-ho with long-range magic as a swordsman? And don’t you see that Lee

Hyun-seung is going crazy over there? Are you going to get involved and make a bunch of idiots out of us? Even if we

don’t die here, we’ll still feel pain. We just need to stay back and use our skills from a distance.”

Park Tae-young was silent for a moment. As a swordsman, it was essentially impossible for him to support from a

distance with long-range magic 2 kilometers away. He also somewhat agreed with not wanting to get shot by Lee

Hyun-seung’s gun. However, one fact bothered him.

Park Tae-young spoke.

“Yoo Hee-yeon wouldn’t have given you this kind of authority, right? Are you doing this with her permission?”

When Park Tae-young questioned him, Shin Jun-ho quietly pulled him aside and responded.

“Tae-young, get a grip. How long are you going to live under Yoo Hee-yeon’s shadow? Do you think the Artemis

Guild is going to be #1 forever? Do you think it’ll still be #1 10, 20 years from now when Yoo Han-beom gets old? No,

it won’t.”

He continued with a serious expression.

“Tae-young, you can become strong with old-fashioned methods, but there’s a limit. But I’m different from you guys.

I was chosen.”

Shin Jun-ho muttered incomprehensible words. He began gathering mana into his hands. An unpleasant aura of

mana began to emanate from his hands.

‘Magic.’

Park Tae-young looked at him with surprise.

“You… How did you get magic…?”

“It’s from my old friend, and I’ll tell you something special. Do you know Hilleon? I was chosen by them.”

Hilleon, the group that framed Lee Hyun-seung as a stalker. The only group that could rival the Artemis Guild, ruling

the underworld. They plundered in the maze, killing people was a given, and dealt in various drugs. They would do

anything for money—a crazy group.

Park Tae-young spoke to Shin Jun-ho.

“Are you out of your mind? If you get involved with those lunatics…!”

“Shh….”

Shin Jun-ho made a face and responded.

“Don’t preach to me. You know how badly I wanted to get stronger, right? If it weren’t for this damn handicap, I

could have gotten much stronger by now. But it’s impossible. Why? Because there’s no way to fix my arm. But

Hilleon said if I do one thing for them, they’ll fix it.”

Shin Jun-ho had a congenital disability. He had one arm. For a magician, having one arm was an unimaginably

harsh disadvantage.

Park Tae-young, looking at his arm, fell silent. He had seen how much Shin Jun-ho suffered because of it since they

were kids. He had heard that Hilleon had various artifacts and gold magic that weren’t available on the market.

Perhaps they could really give Shin Jun-ho his arm back.

Shin Jun-ho spoke to Park Tae-young, who remained silent.

“Anyway, stop preaching. For some reason, it seems like Lee Hyun-seung has made Hilleon really angry.”

“Hilleon…? How do you know that?”

“I overheard the higher-ups talking. They said something went wrong because of him.”

To keep Artemis Guild in check, Hilleon had been stalking Yoo Hee-yeon to send a warning message. However, not

wanting to take responsibility for the aftermath, they decided to frame Lee Hyun-seung as a stalker by planting

crucial evidence, his phone, in his drawer.

But when Lee Hyun-seung brought wizards from the magic tower and began analyzing mana traces, even using the

national mana database, Hilleon found themselves in a very awkward situation.

If Yoo Han-beom found out that they were stalking the daughter of Artemis Guild’s leader, Yoo Hee-yeon, who knew

what would happen? Therefore, they took a backup plan.

“Well, whatever. The important thing is that Lee Hyun-seung. They said all we have to do is completely break his

mind. Easy, right?”

Even in a virtual stage, mental damage and some pain are still felt. In other words, if they inflicted massive mental

damage, his mind could break to the point where he couldn’t even speak properly.

“How? None of our skills can break someone’s mind.”

It was obvious—students wouldn’t be able to break through the high-level mages’ protective magic that was applied

to everyone in the stage, let alone deal enough damage to break someone’s mind.

  • Swoosh

He took out a small circular artifact from his pocket.

“I smuggled this in. Hilleon helped me. All we have to do is gather and channel a massive amount of mana, and we

can use the ‘Lunginus Spear.’ If we hit him with that, Lee Hyun-seung will become half a cripple.”

Swallow

The ‘Lunginus Spear’—an artifact that caused tremendous damage and broke the opponent’s mind.

“D… Don’t tell me nonsense. There’s no way you can use an artifact like this to cast gold magic…”

“Well, you’re right. From what I heard, it doesn’t even produce 1% of its original power. But it’ll be more than enough

to wreck a little student. Anyway, help me out. If this goes wrong, I’ll be dead. This is my last chance. Got it?”

Park Tae-young looked at Shin Jun-ho’s empty arm as he spoke.

“Once… just once, I’ll help you…”

Shin Jun-ho smiled happily.

“That’s enough. And once this is over, I’ll disappear right away. Take care, and thanks.”

Shin Jun-ho and Park Tae-young moved back to the cliff where the A-Class members had gathered. Park Tae-young,

mixing in a bit of a lie, created the atmosphere that would have Shin Jun-ho gather the mana. All the A-Class

members poured their mana into Shin Jun-ho.

  • Whoooosh!

As Shin Jun-ho placed the gathered mana into the artifact—

  • Koo-goo-goo-goo-gung!

A spear appeared in the sky.

Yoo Hee-yeon, witnessing the appearance of the spear, asked in disbelief.

“What… What’s going on…?”

Yoo Hee-yeon recognized the identity of the technique floating in the sky. The Lance of Longinus.

She had predicted that only a few high-level magic spells would come from the cliff, but seeing such an absurd

technique, she was left speechless.

“Wh-why…?”

The forbidden technique she had often heard about from her father. The Lance of Longinus. The spear shot forward

at a terrifying speed and rushed toward Lee Hyun-seung.

  • Shhhhiing!
  • Fwoooosh~!

Two spears of Longinus pierced through.

  • Whooooosh!

Dust began to spread everywhere.

Yoo Hee-yeon, unable to fully comprehend the situation, still cheered up, knowing that she could win. If Lee Hyun-

seung had been hit by those spears, he would definitely retire.

  • Shhhhiing!

After the dust cleared, what Yoo Hee-yeon saw wasn’t Lee Hyun-seung, but someone else standing there, bleeding.

“Dammit… it hurts so much…”

It was Han Seong-gil, whose eyes were bloodshot to the extreme.

  • Excessive damage has been inflicted.
  • Berserker trait is activated dramatically.
  • Strength, endurance, and agility stats increase drastically.
  • Temporarily numbs pain.
  • Berserker trait has reached its limit.
  • Additional effects are generated.
  • Life-threatening pain is automatically healed.
  • Severed body parts are restored.

Yoo Hee-yeon looked at Han Seong-gil holding the Lance of Longinus, shouting.

“Everyone… come here and stop him!”

As the A-Class members hesitated near the cliff, Yoo Hee-yeon yelled.

“Stop whining and get over here before I kill him, you damn fools! You don’t think about the consequences?”

Only then did the A-Class members start running toward her.

Yoo Hee-yeon backed away, still speaking to Han Seong-gil.

“P-Please calm down. You look badly hurt… Let’s… talk…”

She sighed as she spoke.

“Ah…?”

Han Seong-gil’s eyes were unfocused. He had completely lost consciousness.

  • Ploosh!

Han Seong-gil pulled out all the spears of Longinus from his body. Then, he raised the spears high into the air and

slammed them down toward the ground.

  • Whoooosh!

With a tremendous sound of wind, the spears descended toward the earth.

  • Kwaaaaang!
