The Goddess’s Whims and Karin’er’s Ascension

Subtitle: We’re just messing with you! What are you going to do about it?

The patter of footsteps echoed across the colossal ice bridge.

Demonkind, symbols of darkness, and Heroes, beacons of light, walked in unexpected harmony across its expanse.

The culprit behind this bizarre sight was none other than Qiweiya, who was currently putting on a silent display of arrogance.

“Demon 1: Do you have any idea how long we’ll be fighting this time?”

“Hero 3: Why are you asking me? Who am I supposed to ask? And you, you ugly brute, get away from me! Don’t offend my eyes.”

“Demon 1: Damn it! Just because you look human, you think you’re hot stuff? My four legs are way more handsome than you!”

“Hero 1: You f***ing…”

…Alright, perhaps it wasn’t *that* harmonious. But a sense of belonging was all that mattered.

Karin’er stood at the very center of the bridge, her dignified and beautiful face imbued with a hint of heroism.

Her waist-length golden hair swayed back and forth, whipped by the biting wind.

A sacred golden gown clung tightly to her form, accentuating her full, alluring figure. With a sword held in one hand, her gaze burned like a torch, brimming with battle intent as she watched the approaching forces of both races.

The people from both factions also spotted Karin’er.

“Click, click!” With cautious precision, they aimed their weapons at Karin’er.

A Hero from the human faction inadvertently glimpsed the weapon in Karin’er’s hand. His eyes widened abruptly as he stammered, “Th-this is the Holy Sword of Light! The Goddess of Ice and Snow actually entrusted it to you?”

Upon hearing this, Karin’er glanced at the imposing holy sword in her own hand, a faint headache beginning to throb. “You mean this? I have no idea what madness has possessed the Goddess… I already have my own Heroic Spirit Armament, yet she threw me a planetary armament that might even devour its master.”

The Hero scoffed. “You should count yourself lucky you received the Holy Sword of Light. If it had been the Holy Sword of Darkness, you would have already been corrupted and dead by now.”

Karin’er nodded, as if waking from a dream. “I see. No wonder the Goddess refused to give me the Sword of Darkness when I asked for it.”

“Die!” A demon assassin, appearing from who knew where, materialized behind Karin’er, intending to finish her with a backstab.

“Presumptuous! How dare you attempt such a despicable act right under my nose!”

With a rattling of chains, the assassin was pierced by scarlet chains that seemed to erupt from nowhere. He was suspended in mid-air, and within moments, transformed into a desiccated corpse.

“Hiss!” Everyone watched in horror as the top-tier demon assassin instantly withered into a dry husk.

“In my domain, there shall be no hidden attacks! I demand a fair and honorable battle!”

Karin’er tightened her grip on the holy sword. “Thank you, Goddess, for saving my life. I will be more careful.”

Qiweiya offered no reply, but Karin’er didn’t mind. She knew Qiweiya was undoubtedly observing everything from her palace.

A fierce battle intent ignited in Karin’er’s eyes. “Come, let us have a straightforward battle! Only by gravely injuring me or taking my life will you earn the right to challenge the Goddess as you wish.”

The Heroes and demons exchanged glances, as if reaching a silent consensus, and then swarmed towards Karin’er in a frenzy.

Karin’er roared with excitement. “Excellent!” She raised her sword.

“First Form: Rose Thorn Pierce!” Her longsword suddenly thrust forward, an astonishing piercing strike that seemed capable of impaling anything, plunging into the enemy ranks.

All the weaker demons and Heroes were instantly pierced by the sword intent.

Indeed, after Qiweiya’s enhancement, Karin’er’s sword techniques could no longer be called mere skills; they were manifestations of her will.

“Damn it! How could you become so powerful? Even with a holy sword, such an amplification is impossible!”

Not a flicker of emotion stirred in Karin’er’s eyes. “Why? Naturally, it’s because the Goddess provided me with comprehensive development in morality, intelligence, physical fitness, and aesthetics, allowing me to transform and become stronger within mere days.”

In her palace, Qiweiya was practically dying of laughter. She had merely intended to tease Karin’er, yet somehow, Karin’er had genuinely achieved results through it.

The ‘morality, intelligence, physical fitness, and aesthetics’ was nothing more than a convenient excuse Qiweiya had given Karin’er. Still, Qiweiya greatly admired Karin’er’s talent. Was this truly the mark of the world’s God-Slaying Sword Bearer?

“Second Form: Tulip Sword Guard!” Under the astonished gazes of her many foes, the trajectory of Karin’er’s sword formed a bud-like shield, as vivid and lifelike as a true tulip.

None of the attacks could inflict even the slightest damage upon the open shield.

“How is this possible! Witch, why have you become so incredibly powerful? This completely contradicts the records of the Hall of Heroes!”

Karin’er turned, her gaze directly meeting that of the questioner. “I told you, everything is due to the Goddess’s guidance. Since you cannot harm me, you have no right to cross this boundary.”

“Third Form: Blood Rose Sword Slash!” Blood-red sword intent erupted from her blade, like an unbridled wild horse, uncontrollably cleaving into the enemy forces.

The ice bridge, crafted by snow and ice, was sliced in half by Karin’er’s sword intent, creating a gaping chasm that served as a dividing line.

Had it not been for the guaranteed quality of Qiweiya’s ice bridge, it would have collapsed long ago. Indeed, anything from Qiweiya is bound to be a masterpiece, wouldn’t you say? (Wry smile)

Before Karin’er, the two factions trembled violently, their legs shaking so much they were almost paralyzed with fear.

Karin’er’s disappointment was palpable. “Is this all you amount to? You lack even the courage to face your fear directly… I am truly disappointed in you.”

“Retreat! Even if you advance and sacrifice yourselves, it will only invite a thousand years of scornful laughter.”

Finally, the people from both factions reached their breaking point. “Impossible! We will not surrender! For peace, and for the annihilation of the Goddess of Ice and Snow!”

“For Demon King! Our demon army will surely wipe out the vile Goddess of Ice and Snow in one fell swoop!”

Karin’er finally allowed a faint smile to grace her lips. “You’ve finally mustered true courage. Excellent! Let me experience your limits.”

In stark contrast to Karin’er’s soaring battle spirit, Qiweiya in her palace was far from pleased.

If she could, Qiweiya would have personally descended to annihilate these damned Heroes and demons in one fell swoop. ‘What do you mean, ‘vile’? What do you mean, ‘for peace’? Did I steal your wife’s virginity, or did I assault your aunt? I literally did nothing, alright!’

With a dark expression, Qiweiya issued a command to Karin’er. “If possible, unleash your ultimate technique now… I want them to pay for the words they’ve spoken.”

Receiving the command, Karin’er couldn’t help but feel a mix of amusement and exasperation. Her own Goddess was truly unparalleled in her childishness.

Was this the difference between an enemy god and their own? At this thought, Karin’er cast a look of pity upon the imposing army before her.

These people were truly pathetic, earning Qiweiya’s animosity over a few words. To grant them a swift end and rebirth, Karin’er decided it was time to unleash *that* technique.

Karin’er raised the sacred golden holy sword in her hand, her aura reaching its peak. “Sever in Two!” She turned the blade’s edge towards the approaching army, now almost upon her.

“Wind, Flower, Snow, Moon!” A hum resonated. Golden aura enveloped the holy sword.

The army, paralyzed by the immense pressure in their hearts, could only watch as the terrifying holy sword descended with full force.

“Boom!” A majestic golden pillar of light erupted, tearing through the earth and piercing through forests and rivers.

Karin’er gazed at the vanished section of the bridge and the devastated forest and land beyond, letting out a sigh. (She sheathed her sword.)

A moment after Karin’er turned to leave, the remaining army, who should have perished by her sword, reappeared on the intact open ground on the other side of the bridge.

With expressions of horror, they touched their bodies, as if checking to see if any parts were missing.

“Rejoice, you wretches! You have successfully been spared by me! Go back and tell your Demon King and your Pope that the Goddess of Ice and Snow has granted you clemency this once. But next time, you won’t be so lucky!”

Lotharia looked at Qiweiya, who was clearly having a tsundere outburst, and felt something was off. “You’re not actually pitying these people who came to attack you, are you?”

Qiweiya blushed. “That’s your misconception! I merely granted them their lives so they could bring me more amusement. Don’t misunderstand!”

Lotharia rolled her eyes at the tsundere Qiweiya. “Your character setting has collapsed~ I don’t recall you having a tsundere trait.”

“Who are you calling tsundere, you punk? Say that again, I dare you!”

“I’ll say it again, so what! What can you do to me? This grand lord doesn’t change her name or surname~ If you’ve got guts, go settle the score with the Creator God!”

Qiweiya scratched her head, speechless. “What kind of twisted logic is that? Shouldn’t I be settling the score with *you*?”

Lotharia looked at Qiweiya with disdain. “With that chicken-brained IQ of yours, you think you can play with me? Watch me utterly crush you~”

Infuriated, Qiweiya lunged, opening her mouth. “Watch me bite you to death! Ow-woo!”

“Woah, woah! Let go! Damn it, are you a dog? Why do you bite all the time? I don’t have any bone biscuits on me!”

Qiweiya triumphantly watched Lotharia, whose small face was contorted in pain. “I won’t let go~ See what you can do.”

Lotharia exploded in anger. “Just you wait, you smug jerk! Besides your mouth skills, only your flat chest is captivating! Watch my ‘Immortal Plucks Grapes’ move!”

“Wah! You actually attacked my sacred untouched land! I’ll fight you to the death!” “Come on! Who’s afraid of whom?”

Lysander remained expressionless, her heart completely unmoved. In fact… she even wanted to take a picture as a souvenir. (Wry smile)

Karin’er walked in, discovered this bizarre scene, and felt her mind struggle to process it. “What exactly is happening here?”
