Xi Xue’s Terrifying Strength (Part 2)

Chapter 77 • 1,444 words • 13 min read

Upon hearing the name ‘Bloodlust Sin King’, Captain Xianglan immediately understood the criminal’s true identity.

He was one of the Seven Kings of the Ancient Huaxia Kingdom, a powerful figure who had once commanded a portion of its military might.

Simultaneously, a grim realization dawned upon her: the Bloodlust Sin King had betrayed their organization, descending into criminality.

The Guard Squad bore the immense responsibility of safeguarding both the nation and its populace, serving as a revered symbol of the Ancient Huaxia Kingdom’s protectors.

Wantonly slaughtering a member of the Guard Squad was, unequivocally, a capital offense.

As Captain Xianglan finished, her gaze fixed intently on Xi Xue.

Her eyes conveyed a clear message: play along, help her maintain psychological control over the Bloodlust Sin King.

Hearing Captain Xianglan’s words, the Bloodlust Sin King instantly grew wary, his earlier exhilaration vanishing without a trace.

‘The Princess still possesses a Teleportation Jade, does she?’ he mused.

A profound dread seized his heart, and a fine sheen of cold sweat broke out on his forehead and back.

Indeed, it made sense. As the most cherished and only daughter of the two Majesties, they would never allow the Princess to venture out without defensive artifacts.

Teleportation tools, especially, would never leave her side.

Moreover, out of concern for their daughter’s safety, it was entirely reasonable for them to notify the Guard Squad and request special protection.

As this thought crystallized, a desire to retreat began to stir within him.

Neither of the two Bloodkin Majesties was someone he could contend with.

If the Princess were to activate a teleportation artifact, his demise would be absolute.

The two Majesties would never forgive a traitor like him, one who colluded with foreign powers and slaughtered his own kin.

However, another possibility swiftly emerged in his mind.

‘What if the Princess had snuck out on her own?’ he pondered.

‘A remote place like Dawnmoon City, participating in the Ability College Entrance Exam under a hidden identity… She’s been present for some time, yet there’s no sign of the elite Blood Elves.’

‘That female captain’s words seem deeply suspicious.’

Considering this, the Bloodlust Sin King subtly raised his head, observing Xi Xue and Captain Wind’s reactions.

He watched as Xi Xue stared blankly at Captain Xianglan, blinking her beautiful eyes in confusion.

Captain Wind, too, gazed at Captain Xianglan, appearing somewhat flustered, his mind racing as he processed something.

Only Captain Xianglan stood tall, her back straight, looking at Xi Xue with righteous indignation, her gaze both urgent and sincere.

She seemed genuinely concerned for Xi Xue, as if truly expecting the two Majesties to descend and dispense justice on their behalf.

At this point, if the Bloodlust Sin King still didn’t understand what was happening, he would truly be a fool.

Sure enough, he saw Captain Wind pause for a moment, then immediately twist his broken body towards the Princess, shouting:

“Yes, Princess! The Bloodlust Sin King harbors malicious intentions, a wolf in sheep’s clothing!”

“I implore Your Highness to summon the two Majesties to descend and justly punish him for his heinous treason!”

The righteous indignation in his tone made his words seem entirely plausible.

The Bloodlust Sin King involuntarily chuckled, but quickly stifled his smile, replacing it with a look of profound apprehension as he hastily spoke:

“Princess, please do not listen to their nonsense. I accidentally killed those four because they ambushed me first. I was merely acting in self-defense.”

“I just didn’t expect them to be so weak, dying after failing to withstand even a single blow from me.”

“As for that female captain’s statement, it is pure slander!”

“I have recently been ambushed and severely wounded, requiring blood to restore my body and strength.”

“However, I would never harbor ill intentions towards the Princess.”

“After all, the Princess has concealed her Bloodkin royal aura. Though I, as a fellow race member, cannot discern her exact identity, I can still recognize that the Princess is of our kin.”

“Princess, please understand, the blood of our own kind cannot be consumed. Only the blood of the Bloodkin royalty, bestowed upon us by Your Highness or the two Majesties, can be imbibed by us lower-ranking members.”

“Therefore, it is impossible for me to plot against you.”

“I merely happened to encounter your friend, the girl who summoned the giant dragon and sparred with you, and witnessed her astonishing talent.”

“Such incredible talent and stunning beauty must mean her blood is peerless in the world. To recover from my injuries, I sought her out.”

“But this subordinate truly did not know that the girl was the Princess’s blood sustenance!”

“If I had known, even with a hundred times my courage, I would not dare to come here and beg for sustenance from you, Princess!”

“His Majesty the Blood Emperor has shown kindness to this subordinate, and my loyalty is evident to heaven and earth. I would never commit any act of treason.”

“Princess, please do not believe the malicious words of these petty individuals and doubt your own kin!”

Unexpectedly, no sooner had the Bloodlust Sin King finished his earnest plea than Captain Wind immediately cursed:

“You’re spouting nonsense! My four comrades were wantonly slaughtered by you! And you cruelly twisted and broke my limbs!”

“There was no self-defense; you clearly intended to silence them, then infiltrate the Princess’s villa to find an opportunity to murder her!”

Captain Xianglan quickly chimed in, “That’s right, Princess. The Bloodlust Sin King clearly harbors ill intentions and possesses a ruthless heart. You should quickly summon the two Majesties to descend and execute him!”

The Bloodlust Sin King scoffed, then looked up at Xi Xue, his voice filled with sorrow:

“Since they are so glib, aggressive, and intent on twisting black and white, desiring to incite our own people to mutual slaughter, then I implore the Princess to summon the two Majesties to descend!”

“Let His Majesty the Blood Emperor and Her Majesty the Blood Empress personally investigate and verify this subordinate’s loyalty! Grant this subordinate justice!”

“Let these deceitful, lower-ranking insects see the consequences of slandering the Bloodkin!”

With that, he heavily kowtowed, creating a bowl-sized crater in the ground.

He had already made up his mind: if the Princess truly produced the Teleportation Jade and activated it, he would immediately flee.

However, if the Princess could not produce the Teleportation Jade and instead tried to appease him, then he would not be blamed for his ruthlessness.

A pang of alarm struck Captain Xianglan.

She realized she had done something foolish.

She had calculated everything, yet failed to anticipate that the Bloodlust Sin King would dare to kneel and beg for the two Bloodkin Monarchs to descend!

How could he be so audacious?

He had killed members of the Guard Squad.

No matter how many excuses he offered, if the two Monarchs descended, they would undoubtedly apprehend him and hand him over to the state for severe punishment.

Normally, he would never beg for the two Monarchs to descend.

He should have planned his escape the moment he heard Xi Xue possessed a Teleportation Jade.

After all, a noble Princess, the only and most beloved child of the two Monarchs, surely wouldn’t lack a defensive artifact, would she?

However, she hadn’t expected Xi Xue to fail to grasp her intentions and play along.

Those innocent, ruby-red eyes made her want to cry without tears.

Based on Xi Xue’s performance in the arena, she should have been an exceptionally intelligent girl.

Yet, despite Captain Xianglan’s numerous hints, Xi Xue simply hadn’t reacted.

There was nothing to be done. They weren’t close, lacked mutual understanding, and thus, silent communication was indeed difficult.

Now, the Bloodlust Sin King’s plea for the two Monarchs to descend was likely a ploy to confirm whether Xi Xue truly possessed a Teleportation Jade.

If she did, all would be well; they would all be saved. If not, Xi Xue might not be able to protect herself.

Recalling how Xi Xue had suddenly vanished after her match earlier, likely using a spatial artifact, Captain Xianglan felt a slight sense of relief.

Yet, a lingering worry persisted: what if Xi Xue didn’t have a Teleportation Jade but only a spatial instantaneous movement artifact? What then?

She composed herself, praying inwardly, while preparing to activate her magic at any moment.

Should the worst happen, she could only hope Xi Xue possessed a spatial instantaneous movement artifact.

Under Captain Xianglan’s desperate cover, Xi Xue would have to escape back to the villa.

At this moment, all three individuals present were on edge, their gazes fixed on Xi Xue, anxiously awaiting the final outcome.
