Chapter 78: Yoo Hee-yeon in disapear

Stage Outside. Class Annihilation Viewing Room.

Yoo Hee-yeon’s mother, Kim Hee-ra, shouted angrily at the administrators.

“You people! Are you crazy? My daughter is stuck in there! Why the hell is that strange monster in the arena? Why

aren’t you stopping the match right now? Do you all want your heads to roll? Huh? Do you want me to show you how

I can ruin your lives? You bastards!”

One of the staff members, sweating coldly, spoke up.

“I… I’m sorry. We’re trying to stop the match right now, but the system isn’t responding. Magic isn’t working, and

we’re trying to figure out the cause.”

Kim Hee-ra then yelled at Yoo Han-beom.

“Can’t you say something?! These damn idiots are just making excuses and not properly dealing with the situation!

Tell them to send Hee-yeon out of the arena right now!”

Yoo Han-beom, having coldly assessed the situation, had already made his conclusion. He stepped forward and

spoke to the administrator.

“Where is the artifact managing the stage?”

The arena for the Class Annihilation event was a virtual space created using an artifact that controlled the arena,

sending students in and out.

“P-Please follow me.”

The administrator led Yoo Han-beom and Kim Hee-ra to a large artifact that looked like a magic stone.

“Th-This is it. Normally, we use this artifact to manage the entire stage, but it hasn’t been working since earlier.”

There was a wizard in the corner, struggling and pouring their mana into the artifact.

  • Swish

Yoo Han-beom naturally placed his hand on the artifact and began channeling his mana.

  • Whoooosh

However, his mana was violently rejected.

“As expected.”

Kim Hee-ra, seeing his confident expression, shouted.

“What is it? What’s the problem?”

“It’s the miasma.”

“Miasma?”

“There’s strong miasma circulating inside the stage. The energy from it is reaching the external artifact, causing

normal interactions with mana to be impossible. If we interfere too much here, the remaining people could be

trapped in the stage forever, so we can’t forcibly open it.”

“Stop talking in circles and just explain simply.”

“It means it’s impossible to pull Hee-yeon and the others out. To get them out of the stage, we have to deal with the

strong miasma first. The student who has turned into a monster must either be killed or knocked out so they can’t

emit any more miasma.”

Yoo Han-beom quietly sat down, closing his eyes, his face grim as he muttered.

“All we can do is pray.”

  • Swish

He opened his eyes and stared at the screen.

“Lee Hyun-seung… what do you plan to do? Whatever method you use doesn’t matter. For a monster with that much

miasma, it’s impossible for a mere student to deal with it through normal means.”

“But still, I hope that at least both of them make it out alive.”

Yoo Han-beom looked back at the screen showing the situation inside. His eyes caught the image of Yoo Hee-yeon,

floating in the sky, shot by Lee Hyun-seung.

“What is this…!”

  • Boom!

Yoo Hee-yeon flew toward Shin Jun-ho.

“110000..”

Just before she hit the ground, Yoo Hee-yeon, with some of her paralysis fading, used her magic to cushion the

impact of the fall. Though it was too late to cast the defensive spell, and her body still ached, she had no time to dwell

on the pain now.

“Yoo… Hee-yeon….”

Right in front of her stood Shin Jun-ho, who had transformed into a monster. Shin Jun-ho stared at Yoo Hee-yeon,

who was sitting on the ground, muttering.

“Get lost… my target is Lee Hyun-seung….”

“Is… is that so? Then, I’ll just go…”

Yoo Hee-yeon quickly stood up, attempting to turn and flee.

However, Shin Jun-ho called out to stop her.

“Stop…!”

She flinched as Shin Jun-ho muttered behind her.

“I always envied people like you… those who were born with everything… and… using the things they were lucky

enough to have to boss others around… selfish scum….”

  • Boom!

Shin Jun-ho slammed his foot hard onto the ground.

  • Crack!

The surroundings began to shake. Yoo Hee-yeon’s body swayed from the vibrations, causing her to stumble.

“Yoo Hee-yeon… how does it feel now, that I, the one you always ignored, have become much stronger than you?”

He started laughing madly. Despite still having one empty arm, his condition was at an all-time high, something he

had never felt in his life.

Yoo Hee-yeon glanced at Shin Jun-ho for a moment and thought.

‘This is not a situation where we can talk.’

Though it seemed like a proper conversation at first, Shin Jun-ho was only spewing out the things he wanted to say.

There was no real exchange of dialogue. It was likely due to the influence of the miasma.

“While I’m dealing with the others, I’ll just kill you too.”

Whoosh!

Shin Jun-ho quickly raised his arm and aimed it at Yoo Hee-yeon.

  • Bang!
  • Tatatatat!

Yoo Hee-yeon barely dodged the attack and ran wildly.

“Haah… haah….”

“Stop!”

While running, she turned around and cast a spell.

[Ice Spear]

Several ice spears flew toward Shin Jun-ho.

Shatter!

But Shin Jun-ho easily snapped his wrist and shattered the magic as if shaking off water.

‘C-Crap… It’s just a basic spell, so it doesn’t have much power…’

Thud!

While frantically running, Yoo Hee-yeon tripped over a tree branch on the ground and fell.

“Ahhh—!”

  • Thud!

She collapsed right there.

  • Groan

The pain from her sprained ankle began to intensify. She could still run a bit, but escaping Shin Jun-ho at this speed

seemed impossible now.

  • Gulp

‘I… I have to fight…’

Now, all that was left for her was to fight.

In this space, no one would come to help her. Who would risk their life to help her? Yoo Hee-yeon knew this well.

“Ah…”

It was then that she realized. The situation of being cut off from the outside world. The life-threatening situation. In

this place, the Artemis Guild’s status, rights, or authority meant nothing. Everyone in this place acted according to

their ‘instincts.’

Before the signal was cut off from the outside, most people had been eliminated, and even the

remaining A-Class members had long since fled, avoiding Shin Jun-ho. The only ones left, Lee Hyun-

seung and Jeong Eun-seo, were from F-Class and were not going to help her.

“Ha… haha….”

A bitter laugh escaped her. Next to Lee Hyun-seung was Jeong Eun-seo, who had been bleeding and in pain but still

tried to help him. So, if Shin Jun-ho attacked Lee Hyun-seung, it was clear she would fight alongside him.

But now, who was next to her?

No one. There was no one by her side. This was a place where money, power, and authority meant nothing.

Everything around her was an illusion. All the things she thought were her strengths, all the power she relied on, had

been borrowed from her father’s arm. She realized she couldn’t do anything on her own. She was cruelly aware that

she was, in the end, an empty cart.

Whoosh!

Shin Jun-ho began charging toward Yoo Hee-yeon.

[Amje] – A defensive barrier that hides the body inside a black sphere. The sphere automatically retaliates against

any attacker.

Yoo Hee-yeon used Amje to protect herself.

Whoosh—whoosh—whoosh!

Countless tendrils shot up from the black sphere, attacking Shin Jun-ho.

Boom!

For a moment, Shin Jun-ho appeared to be in pain, pierced by the tendrils, but he quickly curled his body and began

gathering magic energy.

“AAAHH!”

As he screamed wildly, the tendrils heading toward him momentarily stopped moving.

Boom!

Seizing the opportunity, Shin Jun-ho swung his hand and twisted all the tendrils back into the sphere.

Crunch!

Then, he tore them all out of the sphere.

“Shit… f*cking insane….”

Even though she had used a basic weapon and wasn’t able to enhance it with magic or power boosts, this situation

didn’t make sense. No one could possibly be crazy enough to break through Amje like that.

But Shin Jun-ho didn’t stop there.

Crash!

With a single blow, he struck the sphere that contained Yoo Hee-yeon.

Crack!

The first hit caused cracks to appear on the Amje.

Crash!

Snap!

The second attack broke parts of the barrier.

Crash!

Clang!

With the third strike, Amje completely shattered, and the barrier was lifted.

“Ughh….”

Yoo Hee-yeon cried, dragging herself back on the ground, tears streaming down her face.

“Please… please, save me… I… I don’t want to die….”

She didn’t even think to wipe away the tears flowing from her eyes, desperately dragging herself backwards, trying to

get as far away from Shin Jun-ho as possible.

“Hahaha!”

Shin Jun-ho watched her struggle, laughing for a long time. Then, with cold eyes, he muttered as he looked down at her.

“You used to mock me for not having one arm, calling me a half-assed mage… and now you’re begging for your life.”

Whoosh!

Shin Jun-ho clenched his fist and raised his arm.

“You worthless bug. Die under the foot of the insect you so despised.”

Whoosh!

Shin Jun-ho’s arm began to fall with terrifying speed toward Yoo Hee-yeon.

I just want to live. I don’t want to die here.

She didn’t want to die in this place.

She only wanted to win. She wanted to rise above everyone else. She didn’t care if it was through filthy and ugly

methods. After all, no one could punish her.

In the end, everyone who had once abandoned her was gone. Despite her belief in her overwhelming power, no one

stood by her side. The truth was, there was nothing left for her.

‘If I had acted just a little differently… would the outcome have been different?’

Suddenly, a small sense of regret began to creep into her mind. Things she had thought were right, rights she had

taken for granted, were now crumbling around her. But there was no time to reflect deeply.

Whoosh!

She closed her eyes as she looked at Shin Jun-ho’s arm, filled with magic power. After all, there was no one left to

help her.

Boom!
