Accompanying a crisp sound that seemed to reverberate deep within their souls, Shi Xiangning and Liu Hanzhi, who had been bickering just outside the room, suddenly froze.

Liu Hanzhi, in particular, rolled her eyes and simply toppled over, collapsing stiffly onto the ground.

Shi Xiangning, meanwhile, stood utterly still, as if time itself had frozen around her.

Bai Wanwan leaned closer, observing Liu Hanzhi sprawled ungracefully and unconscious on the sofa. She reached out and gently poked her.

No reaction. Not a single twitch.

Turning her gaze to Shi Xiangning, the little nurse remained frozen in the act of pointing at Liu Hanzhi and cursing, though her eyes had become vacant.

Bai Wanwan gently pinched the little nurse’s delicate cheek, a cheek so soft it seemed water could be squeezed from it. Still, there was no response.

‘Incredible. This isn’t just any Yin-Yang Tremor; it’s clearly a time-freezing device designed specifically to stop little female ghosts in their tracks.’

‘Time-stopping beauties. This phenomenon has even been documented with text and images in a certain pink-themed search and retrieval software.’

Bai Wanwan glanced at the Yin-Yang Tremor in her hand. She had struck its ‘yin’ side forcefully just now. What if she were to strike its ‘yang’ side instead? Would it produce a different effect?

Observing the dazed little nurse and Liu Hanzhi, Bai Wanwan couldn’t help but nod.

She had tried numerous methods, yet even this powerful artifact yielded no reaction from them. The Yin-Yang Tremor was truly formidable.

Approximately a minute later, the little nurse blinked, her eyes fluttering open as she finally came to.

Seeing Bai Wanwan squatting on the ground, lifting her skirt, she was instantly startled.

Then, her gaze fell upon Liu Hanzhi, still unconscious and face down on the sofa, her backside exposed to the ceiling. Her form-fitting ‘step-mom’ skirt had ridden up to her waist.

The sight of Liu Hanzhi’s ample, ‘child-bearing’ figure, accentuated by black stockings, stirred a pang of jealousy in Shi Xiangning.

“Cough, cough… nothing really. Someone from the Special Incident Investigation Bureau sent me a strange artifact, and I was just testing its effects.”

“Then why were you lifting my skirt?”

“You know, I wanted to see if your reaction was genuine or if you were faking it. I didn’t mean anything by it.”

Bai Wanwan waved her hand, though her explanation was both weak and unconvincing.

“Something like that!”

Shi Xiangning’s pretty face flushed so deeply it seemed it might bleed.

“Save that sort of thing for nighttime! It’s broad daylight, and the curtains aren’t even drawn yet! Aren’t you ashamed?”

Bai Wanwan had expected Shi Xiangning to be angry, but it turned out the little nurse’s thought process was entirely different from a normal person’s.

Shi Xiangning even pointed at Liu Hanzhi’s curvaceous, ‘child-bearing’ backside, asking whose was cuter: hers or Liu Hanzhi’s.

Given that Liu Hanzhi was still unconscious, Bai Wanwan, of course, could only humor Shi Xiangning by telling her that *she* was cuter.
