That evening, Ye Xi granted Adair’s wish, allowing him to ‘enjoy’ her long, slender, fair legs.
Under the guise of ‘endurance training,’ Adair endured a brutal five-hour assault of Ye Xi’s practiced kicks. Only as the clock chimed for midnight did Ye Xi finally release him, leaving Adair’s face a swollen, unrecognizable mess.
Both physically and mentally ravaged, Adair collapsed onto the floor, utterly motionless. Experiencing Ye Xi’s bare feet in such a manner brought him absolutely no joy.
Ye Xi, humming a light tune, slipped on her black stockings, concealing her delicate, fair feet. After lacing up her shoes, she grabbed Adair by his collar and began to drag him out.
While Adair, as a punching bag, didn’t quite match the satisfying feel of the fat worm, five hours of continuous catharsis certainly compensated for any perceived lack in ‘quality.’ Ye Xi’s mood was now exceptionally bright.
Ye Xi did not heartlessly abandon Adair, despite the pleasure he had provided. Instead, she unceremoniously tossed him into his own room, much like one might carry a small chick.
She finally had her own room, no longer forced to sleep crammed with that pervert, Adair. Truly, this was the luckiest day she had experienced all month.
After leaving, Ye Xi seemed to recall something. She turned back towards the still-unconscious Adair, lying sprawled on the bed, and curtsied respectfully. “Though you cannot hear me, it’s best to complete the ritual. Good morning, Master.”
Having delivered her salutation, Ye Xi departed to rest.
Adair, however, forcibly plunged into a deep sleep, could not enjoy this tranquility.

Within a pure white expanse, Adair felt his body being nudged. Spiritually exhausted, he had no desire to open his eyes. “Ye Xi, stop messing around,” he mumbled irritably. “I… I can’t take another beating from you.”
“Oh my, so you possess such a perverted癖好. Are you perhaps what they call a masochist?”
“Huh? That voice and tone…”
Adair managed to lift his eyelids slightly, and a blinding white light flooded his vision, sweeping away the last vestiges of sleep.
Then, a face identical to Ye Xi’s appeared before him, a gentle smile radiating an intense, cunning darkness.
“It’s you,” Adair said wearily. “Can we discuss this tomorrow? All I want to do right now is sleep.”
‘Goddess Ye Xi’ delicately tapped her jade-like finger against her lips, contemplating. “Is that so? Have you become overly excited because your masochistic desires were fulfilled? I can also assist. Would a good beating from me excite you beyond measure?”
“Please, absolutely not,” Adair pleaded. “I have no desire to be brutally beaten in reality, only to then be brutally beaten in the spiritual world. I am genuinely exhausted.”
Adair, left with no choice, forced himself to sit up, his face etched with such weariness that it plainly conveyed his miserable state.
“It’s alright. I bestow upon you the Goddess’s blessing.”
‘Goddess Ye Xi’ flicked Adair’s forehead. Instantly, Adair felt a refreshing sensation cascade from his head to his toes, and all his fatigue vanished.
Feeling completely invigorated, Adair remarked, “Tsk, tsk, tsk. Is this the Goddess’s blessing? It’s incredibly effective.”
‘Goddess Ye Xi’ cupped her hands and chuckled. “While it cannot directly affect your physical body, restoring your spirit is quite simple.”
“No worries, this is enough. Did you summon me because you have something to ask?”
“Rather than having something to ask, I would prefer you provide a recent report. Has anything noteworthy occurred?”
“A subordinate reporting performance to a superior, would that be an accurate description?”
“That’s the gist of it.”
Adair let out a long sigh. “Very well. Compared to that useless goddess, telling you might be more productive.”
‘Goddess Ye Xi’ defended Lifa. “Calling her a useless goddess is too harsh. Little Lifa works very hard, after all.”
Adair gave her a deadpan look. “Did her efforts actually make a difference?”
“Uh…” ‘Goddess Ye Xi’ said awkwardly. “Each has their own specialization. Little Lifa is not adept at handling these situations.”
“Never mind, it’s irrelevant.”
Adair recounted all the recent events to ‘Goddess Ye Xi,’ including the tasks Lifa had assigned him.
Throughout his narration, ‘Goddess Ye Xi’ listened intently, only interjecting to inquire about details when Adair paused. Adair found the entire process incredibly comfortable, a stark contrast to his interactions with Lifa. Indeed, even among goddesses, there were differences in intelligence.
Fortunately, Lifa’s hair wasn’t blue, otherwise he might have suspected someone was impersonating her to act out a role.
Wait, blonde? Apparently, that’s a dangerous hair color too.
‘Goddess Ye Xi’ twirled a strand of her silver hair around her finger. “I see. What a blessing in disguise, to discover these otherworldly objects before they could cause major anomalies. Your ability to trace back origins is truly significant.”
Adair sighed helplessly. “But discovery is useless. That goddess provides no helpful intelligence at all. It’s like searching for a needle in a haystack.”
“Regarding the whereabouts of these otherworldly objects, you actually need not worry. As your investigation deepens, and your karmic ties with that cult become more entangled, these things will inevitably be exposed.”
“Oh?” Adair raised an eyebrow. “To reach such a conclusion, it seems you possess information that even that goddess doesn’t. Am I right to assume you know someone is supplying these otherworldly objects to the Krass Cult?”
“Based on your intelligence, yes. However, since little Lifa has already detected it, such illegal activities should be curbed within a short time. What you need to deal with are the otherworldly objects currently present in your world.”
Adair was somewhat reluctant to believe. “Just her?”
‘Goddess Ye Xi’ shook her finger. “That’s quite rude. Lifa, after all, is an elite who ascended from mortal to god. While she might occasionally be careless in handling certain matters, one cannot generalize.”
“Then I’ll tentatively believe her. Oh, by the way, there’s something I need you to examine. I originally intended to ask that airhead goddess, but you seem more reliable. It’s a physical object, so I wasn’t sure if it could be brought here. Hmm, well, it worked.”
Adair pulled a small bottle containing a chunk of the fat worm’s flesh from his pocket and handed it to ‘Goddess Ye Xi.’
‘Goddess Ye Xi’ smiled, seeing Adair’s practiced movements. “I never expected you to master spiritual transmission. Did Lifa teach you?”
“That’s right, because I had to show her a part of the Desire Gene Amplifier last time. However, I didn’t expect this biological tissue could be successfully sent in.”
“The limitation of spiritual transmission is the soul,” ‘Goddess Ye Xi’ said, holding the bottle between two fingers, carefully observing the piece of flesh inside. “This biological tissue has detached from its parent body and possesses no consciousness of its own, making it no different from inanimate objects. This genetic structure appears to have been altered.”
Adair explained, “The owner of this piece of flesh was originally a large胖子. During a battle, he suddenly shed his human skin, as if tearing off a disguise, and transformed into a gigantic fat worm. So I was wondering if the Desire Gene Amplifier caused it.”
‘Goddess Ye Xi’ nodded. “If it happened as you described, it is indeed the result of the Desire Gene Amplifier. It can alter the genetic structure of organisms, enabling them to evolve into more powerful bodies, while simultaneously amplifying their desires, turning them into monsters driven solely by their urges. By the way, did you say you only found a part of the Desire Gene Amplifier?”
Adair nodded. “Yes, that’s correct. I only found a crystal from it. And it wasn’t even on the fat worm.”
‘Goddess Ye Xi’ looked surprised. “That’s merely a component of the device. The grey crystal contains the power to alter genes, but to use it, a guidance device is also required. Furthermore, that device can only change the user’s genes.”
“It seems things have become complicated,” Adair mused.
Adair also realized that the situation was likely more intricate than simply collecting items. He analyzed, “So, that thing has already gone beyond your understanding?”
‘Goddess Lifa’ gave a wry smile. “It appears so. It must have combined with other technologies after arriving in Lifa’s world, causing its method of action to change.”
Adair pondered, “Then the intelligence will be inaccurate. By the way, since it can alter genes, you don’t have a way to reverse it?”
‘Goddess Ye Xi’ nodded. “We naturally have a solution. In fact, the original world of the Desire Gene Amplifier already had solutions, and this amplifier is an obsolete product. Unfortunately, these solutions are useless to you.”
Adair frowned. “Why?”
“Because these solutions require certain technological support, and the technological trees of your world and their world are vastly different.”
Adair asked, “Can’t you provide external assistance? Since that mastermind can illegally transmit things, you should be able to as well.”
“I apologize, but I cannot do that,” ‘Goddess Ye Xi’ said with difficulty. “My identity is rather special; I am a defender of the rules. If I were to lead in violating the rules, many more lawbreakers would emerge. I am not being inflexible, but clandestine actions are no longer possible. In fact, my actions have already aroused the suspicion of that individual, who once came to test me. Fortunately, they haven’t found any leverage yet.”
It seemed this goddess was quite an important figure.
Adair looked at ‘Goddess Ye Xi’ and asked, “Is there really no room for maneuver? This is Lifa’s managed world, isn’t it? Even with her as an inside agent, it’s not possible? Haven’t you also interfered with this world? The World Crystal and the Blessing of Resurrection.”
‘Goddess Ye Xi’ shook her head. “The blessings I bestow upon you are not powerful. It’s like a garden where I fertilize a single flower; it might bloom more vibrantly than the others, but ultimately, it won’t change the overall beauty of the garden. Such blessings are common, easily granted to those I favor, and do not constitute leverage. However, introducing external civilization’s products or overly powerful blessings is different. Even things discarded by other civilizations can cause immense shock to others. There was once an inconspicuous foreign object that led to the distortion and deformation of an entire world’s civilization, ultimately resulting in the world’s end. That is why our regulations regarding such control are extremely, extremely strict, not only are the penalties for violators severe, but the world managers’ joint responsibility is also substantial.”
Adair asked, puzzled, “It’s strange that nothing happens to us transmigrators.”
“It’s like when some individuals in a species undergo genetic mutations; you are natural loopholes, not the result of deliberate manipulation. You are extremely rare natural occurrences. Therefore, your existence is tacitly permitted. And honestly, out of a hundred thousand transmigrators, perhaps not even one will make a ripple in the development of a world’s civilization. Stories about transmigrators changing the course of civilization are purely the result of reading too many novels. Ideas ahead of their time must be accompanied by power ahead of its time, otherwise, one will simply be regarded as a madman.”
‘Goddess Ye Xi’ paused, then continued, “But established technology is different. They themselves have no life or thought; they are merely tools utilized by others. If they fall into the hands of those with ulterior motives, who haven’t reached a certain level of spiritual maturity, they will abuse this technology. It’s like nuclear bombs; precisely because they weren’t created overnight, people understood their manufacturing principles and potential impact. That’s why, even though nuclear bombs in your world can cause civilizational destruction, development has continued steadily. It’s because the leaders of your world understand the terrifying consequences of nuclear war. People from different civilization trees in other worlds, however, are not aware, and some materials rare in your world for making nuclear bombs might be commonplace in others. Imagine, people whose civilizational consciousness has not yet highly developed wouldn’t have so many scruples. Nuclear annihilation, civilizational destruction—these would happen in a matter of minutes.”
Adair nodded in understanding. His experiences in his previous life had taught him that if the social structure remained unchanged, even the most advanced ideas would be futile, as no one would believe them. Even if someone did, the inertia of the era was not something one or two people could break.
However, if nuclear bombs were introduced into ancient monarchical eras where kings reigned supreme, a wise ruler might exercise caution, but a foolish one would truly not care.
Adair finally understood why that goddess was so anxious. “Are you saying Lifa is in serious trouble?”
‘Goddess Ye Xi’ affirmed, “She’s in very, very serious trouble. In your original world, it would be like a nuclear missile launcher being discovered in the home of an ordinary government employee.”
Poor Lifa.
